Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 1231: Decision

”So, what you’re saying is that this kid is the next ten-tailed fox?” Xuanyuan Qian asked.

”Otherwise, Empress Huo Yanling and the Eternal Flame won’t be staying by his side, right?”

Xuanyuan Zhuanxu nodded to Tianshi Shengjie before asking Tian Yizu. ”Then, what do you mean by the great war?”

”Old Xuanyuan, you’ve never left this domain, so you don’t know the situation out there now, and this universe is no longer the same as in the ancient era.” Tian Yizu let out a heavy sigh before continuing. ”The order in this universe is too chaotic now, and the character of its inhabitants is deteriorating with each passing era. Not only have the demons changed greatly, but other races, including our winged race, have also undergone significant changes. Our race is now divided into two camps, each with different and contrasting goals. My group has always been loyal to our ancestor’s teaching, but Tian Qiye and her group are different from us. They don’t want our ancestor to return, and they considered getting rid of her.”

”We suspect that several other races also conspired with those demons, including the beast and demi-human races. Unfortunately, we have not been able to find concrete evidence of their conspiracy, which prevents both us and Long Wuzhao from taking action against them.” Tian Wei said.

Xuanyuan Changyi then asked. ”Are Tian Qiye and the others also conspiring with those demons?”

”That possibility exists, but I believe it will never happen,” Tian You’an replied confidently. ”Tian Qiye and his group do have different views than us regarding the return of our ancestors, but they truly hate those demons. They indiscriminately slaughter any demons they encounter, so I believe the possibility of them conspiring with them is almost nonexistent.”

”Sooner or later, a great war between righteousness and evil will break out. Both sides will be divided, one seeking peace, the other seeking power, and Zhang Fei will be the peacemaker.” After Tian Yizu made his statement, the six ancestors of the Xuanyuan Clan closely observed Zhang Fei [4].

”Do you think he will truly succeed in becoming the peacemaker for this universe?” Xuanyuan Qian asked doubtfully.

”Haha.” Tianshi Shengjie laughed softly. ”You don’t know him, so it’s understandable that you have doubts about him, but my emperor also believes that he is destined to be the peacemaker. However, the future is still long, and he still has much to overcome before becoming one. Therefore, we can only wait for the right moment to come, and time will resolve all our current doubts.”

”I see.” Xuanyuan Qian nodded in understanding. ”Since Long Wuzhao believes in him, I will look forward to his results in the future. I hope he truly is the peacemaker, and he will stop those heretics, so this universe will be safe once again.”

All of them nodded in agreement with Xuayuan Qian, as they also hoped that the universe would become peaceful once again like in the past, so there would be no casualties.

After waiting for some time, the light dome finally disappeared, revealing Xu Ling’er in the Holy Radiance War Armor. She is no longer in her old form but she has returned to her current self. With the Holy Radiance Crown hovering above her head, the Holy Radiance Golden Sword in her right hand, and golden wings behind her back, she looked like a war angel.

Zhang Fei [4] moved in front of Xu Ling’er. ”Your changes are impressive, Ling’er. You are no longer your usual innocent little girl, but you look like a war angel; even your aura is dignified yet calming.”

”Big Brother.” Xu Ling’er called out softly with a sweet smile on her face. ”After my war armor accepted me again, I regained quite a lot of my past memories. Although not all of my old memories have returned, I understand many things better now.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei [4] nodded in understanding. ”So, what items are left from your equipment set?”

”Cape, shield, and boots.” Xu Ling’er looked up at the sky. ”Have you guys found them?”

Tian Ziyu led the others to land in front of her and answered her, ”Ancestor, we’ve been searching for these three in all domains, but we still haven’t found them. In fact, we can’t sense their auras at all, so we’re having a difficult time finding them.”

”I see.” Xu Ling’er turned to Zhang Fei [4]. ”What do you think about that, Big Brother?”

”Have you guys tried searching for those three in the demon domains?” They shook their heads at Zhang Fei [4] but were confused because they believed the demons could not obtain their ancestor’s equipment. Even if they managed to find them, they wouldn’t be able to take them, and they would die if they forced themselves to take them. ”Since you guys have never checked out those demon domains, I thought I would check them out, especially the Slaughter Blood Domain.”

”Are you thinking about meeting Hu Tianlang’s soul that resides there?” Tianshi Shengjie asked.

Zhang Fei [4] nodded at her. ”I previously secluded myself for more than two decades and abandoned all other affairs. Moreover, I’ve evolved into nine tails, so I think it’s time for me to make a move. For now, I already know the location of the three souls of the old fox, but I can’t possibly go to the Floral Mirage Domain now. The Illusion Spirit Fox Domain is still far from my reach, so the Slaughter Blood Domain is my last resort.”

”Do you really want to go there, Kid?” Xuanyuan Qian asked as she and the others landed there. ”The Asura Demon Race is strong, particularly their leader, the Asura Demon God.”

”Haha.” Zhang Fei [4] softly laughed before transforming into an asura demon, shocking them with the resemblance of his aura to demons of that race. ”You’ve noticed, right? Entering a demon domain is much easier for me than other domains because I can disguise my aura no differently than the demons from that domain, and they will never be able to recognize my disguise.”

Tian You’an bent forward and carefully examined Zhang Fei [5]. ”It’s true, I can’t distinguish you from the members of that demon race, as if you were a pure asura demon.”

The others agreed with Tian You’an, but Tian Huangjin suddenly asked, ”When are you leaving for that domain?”

”I haven’t decided yet.” Zhang Fei [4] then spoke to the six ancestors. ”I know you guys want to talk to me about the Eternal Flame, but I really don’t have the time right now. I’ll come back here to see you once I’ve resolved all my personal matters, so we can talk then.”

Xuanyuan Zhuanxu and the others were disappointed by this because they wanted to know more about Huo Ling, but they knew they couldn’t stop Zhang Fei [4] from leaving. ”Alright, settle your personal matters first, and we’ll wait for you to come to our domain again.”

Xu Ling’er returned the Holy Radiance Sword to Tian Huangjin, as she was still unable to use its full power with her current cultivation. Furthermore, she was still focused on her seclusion, and the sword would be useless in her hands.

Zhang Fei [4] first sent Xu Ling’er back to the pavilion before bringing Tian Huangjin and the others back to the Moonlit Passion Sect, and he himself returned inside after that.

Since they were satisfied after meeting their ancestors, Tian Yizu and the others did not stay long in the sect, and they immediately returned to the Radiance Domain.

Zhang Fei smiled as Xu Ling’er returned to the main room, but Wu Lianzhi pulled her over, looking at her up and down. ”You only left for a short time with our big brother, but why do I feel like you’ve changed, Ling’er?”

”That’s right.” Ru Xue also observed her daughter. ”Did something happen to you before that caused your change, Ling’er?”

Xu Ling’er nodded at them. ”Mother, I’ve recovered quite a lot of my old memories, and they seem to be influencing me, so you all feel that I’ve changed.”

”Huh?” They were shocked to hear that.

”Show them, Ling’er.”

Xu Ling’er nodded slightly and summoned her Holy Radiance War Armor, making Ru Xue and all the women stunned by her appearance in her armor.

”Wow!” Wu Lianzhi exclaimed loudly. ”You look gorgeous and also look like a war angel, Ling’er!”

Xu Ling’er smiled at that. ”This was my armor in the past, and we just picked it up in the Forbidden Land.”

”Huh?” Luo Yunxiao and the women, who had gone to the domain before, turned to look at Zhang Fei.

Zhang Fei explained to them directly. ”Back then, Feng Yao and I couldn’t detect the presence of this armor, but Tian Huangjin had reminded me about it previously. Therefore, I brought Ling’er there to retrieve it. This way, I only need to help her to get her boots, cape, and shield, but we still don’t have information about their location. By the way, I decided to go to the Slaughter Blood Domain to meet one of the old fox’s souls, and I’ll try to find her equipment there.”
