The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 89: Chapter 89: Han Jing’s Origins (Part 2)

Su Yaogeng sighed, hesitated for a moment, and then continued: ”You are now grown up, and Mother does not want to hide this from you. I also tried to send people to find out about your biological parents, but there has been no news. Mother found you in a forest outside the Capital City of Dong Qin Country. It was strange; it was supposed to be May, the height of summer, but for some reason, that day brought a heavy snowfall. As I passed by, I heard your faint cries, and I thought I was mistaken. In the wild woods, I couldn’t imagine how a newborn child like you could be there. When I carried you into the carriage, the blood on your body hadn’t even been washed away, and you were looking at me with a pair of bright eyes that melted my heart. I decided to bring you back. But you were only wrapped in a thin cotton cloth, evidently torn from an adult’s coat, with no other identifying tokens. I sent people to inquire around, but there were no clues. Later, I sent people to the Capital City of Dong Qin to inquire further, but we couldn’t find anything conclusive. Back then, Dong Qin was in turmoil, and everyone was worried about themselves; surely, no one would have paid attention to people coming and going to the Capital City, and it was really impossible to find out, so I gave up.”

Aunt Xi, who had followed Su Yaogeng for years, naturally knew about this incident, but it was the first time others had heard of it, including Han Jing, who was somewhat surprised.

What surprised her wasn’t anything else, but what Su Yaogeng mentioned: the heavy snowfall on that day.

In her previous life, when she was born, it was also summer, and suddenly, heavy snow fell from the sky.

It seems her ability to reincarnate must be some guided fate — past life and present, both are her.

It’s just that, before her rebirth, her superpower was sealed within her and was never triggered.

”Jing’er, if you want to find them, Mother will send people to inquire...” Su Yaogeng hadn’t finished when Han Jing interrupted her.

”Mother, so many years have passed, why bother to inquire about that? Furthermore, what does it matter who my biological parents are? You are my Mother!” Han Jing truly felt no obsession about it.

In her previous life, her family was destroyed when she was five years old. Concerning her family’s memory, there was not even a vague impression left. She hated the ones who caused the downfall of her family but, towards her own family, she truly had no feelings. Growing up in such an environment made her even more indifferent to human emotions.

What are parents, what are relatives — she did not have an accurate concept of these things.

Until she awoke in this rebirth, seeing Su Yaogeng, who cared for her with all her heart. Whether biological or not, Su Yaogeng had given her sincere motherly love. She previously didn’t know what family meant, but now, she feels that family is Su Yaogeng. Who are her biological parents, why they abandoned her, whether intentionally or helplessly — what does it matter? What is there for her to care about?

Han Jing’s gaze was pure, just like when Su Yaogeng first held her in her arms, bright as a mirror reflecting her face.

This moved Su Yaogeng to the point her eyes grew warm. Throughout her entire life, Su Yaogeng had feared nothing, such a grueling life couldn’t bring her to shed a tear, only Han Jing’s pair of eyes always rendered her utterly soft-hearted.

”Good child, the happiest thing in my entire life is having you by my side.”
