The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 69: Chapter 69: Caught a Chill or Poisoned? (Part 2)

However, before Su Xingyan could invite all the doctors across the capital who were skilled in detoxification back to the mansion, an imperial command came from the Imperial Palace summoning him.

Su Xingyan had just been scolded by the Emperor this morning, and it wasn’t even evening yet; why was he being summoned again? Could it be that what happened today at the Princess Mansion had already reached his father’s ears?

But since his father summoned him, he had no choice but to brace his still unwell body and take a carriage into the palace.

When Su Xingyan, pale-faced, knelt in the Imperial Study Room, the Emperor hurled a memorial at him again, hitting him hard; he truly felt aggrieved.

Today, it was the Emperor himself who ordered Su Xingyan to go to the Princess Mansion to apologize to Han Jing, so the Emperor was very concerned about this matter and had specially sent people to inquire about it, to prevent any further trouble.

But who would have thought that just past the Wu hour, almost half of the capital was buzzing with the news that this morning, Su Xingyan went to the Princess Mansion and beat Han Jing.

Although this sounded somewhat absurd, given that Su Xingyan did slap Han Jing outside the Prince Ling Mansion a few days ago, people believed without a doubt that Su Xingyan had struck Han Jing again.

This quickly reached the palace, making the Emperor’s head throb in anger.

He sent him to apologize, but he went to hit her? A grown man repeatedly hitting a weak woman, who is also his cousin and fiancée—is he not ashamed?

”I have never been so humiliated by you! Your aunt is already coming to the palace every few days to stir up trouble about the last time you hit Jing’er, and that has not even been resolved. And now, you’ve gone and hit Jing’er again! Yan’er, you are a grown man, even if Jing’er’s appearance does not please you, and your apology failed, there is no need to hit a weak woman! Step back a thousand steps, even though she is your fiancée and cousin, even if she were an ordinary citizen of the capital, as a prince, you cannot just hit people! Our Nanyao Country has no such laws!” The Emperor was also exasperated by this troublesome son, truly unable to understand why his son, a prince, felt the need to constantly pick a fight with a weak woman!

”Father, please understand, I was truly forced by Han Jing. She poisoned me, and in my anger, I lost control...” Su Xingyan wasn’t foolish; indeed, Han Jing acted first, and even if he denied it, it wouldn’t help. But why he acted was worth pondering.

He first laid hands on Han Jing, and then Han Jing poisoned him. But this fact absolutely could not be spoken. After all, if Han Jing hadn’t truly infuriated him, why would he have hit her? He went sincerely to apologize, but Han Jing truly deserved no sympathy!

”Poisoned?” The Emperor looked at Su Xingyan with a face full of shock, instinctively feeling that this was somewhat fantastical. He had watched that maid grow up; he admitted she was a bit unruly and willful, but to say she knew poisoning? He couldn’t believe it, especially since the target was Yan’er. Everyone in the whole Imperial Palace and the entire Capital City knew how much that maid liked Yan’er, except perhaps Yan’er himself.

”Yes, Father, Han Jing is vicious. I earnestly apologized to her, and she actually poisoned me. I, I simply cannot marry such a cruel woman!”
