Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2012: Chapter 2014: The Trouble Your Son Caused

Because of Qi Xiaoqi’s intuition, everyone was on the move, all looking for a woman named Chiang Qing.

Some people might think this is a bit of a fuss, but there’s a saying: never underestimate anyone, because you never know what cards they hold or what they might do.

Another saying is, don’t wait until danger arrives to regret being unprepared.

Knowing there’s danger around and defending against it isn’t an overreaction or excessive caution; it’s a responsibility to oneself.

If it were just Cheng Su alone, she might not be overly cautious, but she has Xiaoqi, her two-year-old child, so she can’t afford to be careless and put him in danger.

So, Cheng Su accepted Cheng Yaozu’s arrangements.

There are two bodyguards each, with her and Xiaoqi.

This made Mother Qi feel something was wrong. What was going on? Why were such people appearing around them?

”What happened?” Mother Qi asked her daughter-in-law. This was too abnormal, too unsettling.

Isn’t this like on television?

These people are bodyguards, right? Dressed in black and wearing sunglasses, just like the bodyguards on TV.

But those bodyguards appear in the homes of high officials or wealthy families. Our family is just a small household, what do we need bodyguards for?

Cheng Su looked at Mother Qi, this rural old lady who had never experienced any life-or-death dramas, now panicking and frightened at the sight of a few burly men appearing in the house, her small eyes full of fear.

After all, she’s just an unworldly old lady; seeing the bodyguards, she instinctively feels something is wrong and gets scared.

But how to explain? Cheng Su deliberated and decided to blame Qi Taiguo, after all, it was his mess, wasn’t it?

Cheng Su pulled Mother Qi into the room and said, ”Mom, it’s nothing. These people are here to protect us. Taiguo offended enemies during a mission, fearing they might retaliate, the organization sent some people to protect us temporarily. They’ll leave once the troublemakers are captured.”

Upon hearing this, Mother Qi’s face turned pale immediately, her lips trembling as she said, ”Retaliate? Who are these people? How did this happen?”

”Nothing to worry about, I suppose they’re just at the end of their rope,” Cheng Su said quietly.

”And what about Taiguo? Will Taiguo be in trouble, will he be in danger?” Mother Qi anxiously grabbed her hand and asked.

Cheng Su said, ”Mom, don’t worry, Taiguo is fine, he’s still in Africa, how could he be in trouble, these are enemies he attracted in the past!”

Mother Qi heaved a sigh of relief, put her palms together and prayed, ”Heavens bless, let Taiguo be alright. It’s better if he doesn’t come back for now, wait until the danger is gone then return!”

Cheng Su twitched her mouth, seeing she was still anxious, thought for a moment and said, ”Mom, if you’re scared, would you like to go back to the village for a while? And come over again later?”

Mother Qi frowned, looking at Cheng Su, what does this mean, is this a way to send me back to the village? This daughter-in-law is really exploiting the situation!

”All this moving around, isn’t it costly? Besides, now that Taiguo’s organization has sent people to protect us, what is there to be afraid of? I won’t go back, who knows when I can come here again if I do!” Mother Qi waved her hand, afraid Cheng Su might force her to leave, said no more, turned and left.

Cheng Su shook her head, really, such small-mindedness!
