Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2011: Chapter 2013: The Cheng Family Protects Their Own

Ning Ge called Shen Qizheng, hinted that Chiang Qing might be hiding in Guangcheng, and proposed a competition to see who could find her first, but if he found her, he probably wouldn’t hand her over to the Shen family.

Shen Qizheng, of course, wasn’t about to waste such an opportunity for a pledge of loyalty, and promised he would find her quickly.

Ning Ge didn’t listen to his empty promises, hung up, and thought it was better to rely on himself than on the Shen family, so he called Cheng Yaozu.

Cheng Yaozu, that guy, couldn’t resist showing off and boasting about his precious daughter as soon as he received the call, talking about how cute, innocent, and beautiful she was, like a little princess.

Ning Ge rubbed his forehead and said, ”Stop. No more showing off, there’s something important.”

Cheng Yaozu still wanted to speak, but hearing Ning Ge’s not-so-relaxed tone, asked, ”What’s the matter? So serious.”

”It’s about Cheng Su and them.”

What, it’s about Xiao Su?

Cheng Yaozu became tense and asked, ”Did you find that hitman?”

Previously, Cheng Su had entrusted Ning Ge to find someone, and that matter had gone through him. Cheng Su had always been concerned about the progress; the last time she came by, it was also because of the anonymous remittance that she investigated, and although it was under an alias, they found the local remittance place. Through the surveillance records, though the picture wasn’t clear due to equipment issues, they recognized it was the hitman who sent the money.

A hitman, why such concern over that young girl, and even sending money, while Cheng Su is especially attentive to that child.

Speaking of the orphanage kid, Cheng Yaozu himself had wanted to visit several times but was always delayed by this and that. It seems he still needs to find time to make a trip.

”Stop guessing wildly, it’s about that Chiang Qing,” Ning Ge interrupted his speculation.

Cheng Yaozu was momentarily stunned, Chiang Qing?

”Chiang Qing might have already found out where Cheng Su and they live, although I’m not sure how she did it or if it’s even her. But if it is, then Cheng Su is now being monitored by Chiang Qing,” Ning Ge said solemnly.

Cheng Yaozu immediately dropped his usual playful demeanor, his gaze becoming sharp: ”What does she want to do?”

”Always seeing Cheng Su as an obstacle and a rival, now in such a desperate situation, what do you think she intends to do?” Ning Ge twirled the pen in his hand, sneering.

”She dares!” Cheng Yaozu stood up and said, ”I understand what you mean, I’ll arrange for more bodyguards to protect them immediately.”

In the past, he wouldn’t have cared how Cheng Su was, but now that Cheng Su was his father’s adopted daughter, she was his sister, also the matchmaker for him and Xiao Ya. She and Xiao Qi were beloved by the whole Cheng family; if anything happened, that wouldn’t do.

The Cheng family protects its own.

Moreover, if anything happened to any of them, the old man couldn’t take such a blow; he was already quite advanced in age.

”Right now, Fei Yin is still guarding them, so it’s not urgent. The most important thing is to find her, otherwise, it’s hard to say when this bomb might go off; it’s better to find her and snuff it out. I’ve already notified the Shen family, but their territory isn’t here. I’m thinking Guangcheng is your turf, finding someone should be quicker,” Ning Ge said.

”Rest assured, I’ll arrange it.”

Ning Ge nodded his fingers and said, ”You can look for the person the old man used last time, there are backdoor routes, and I doubt Chiang Qing would dare to appear openly, she’s definitely hiding.”

”Alright.”

Cheng Yaozu asked him for a few details, pursed his lips, and went off to make arrangements without further discussion.
