Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2004: Chapter 2006: Fully Immersed in a New Life

Fei Yin returned to the Capital, while Mother Cheng and the others spent the past few days organizing the house on Construction Road. For several consecutive days, Cheng Su brought Qi Xiaoqi with her to her company, listened to Zhan Qin report on the company’s situation over the past half year, and other various businesses, gaining a comprehensive understanding and taking over.

Cheng Su felt that since she had come to Guangcheng, she couldn’t rely solely on Zhan Qin to manage everything. And, to manage things properly, she couldn’t be distracted like before, half studying and half managing business, so she needed a comprehensive understanding, including the challenges the company faced.

However, the fact that Qi Xiaoqi was tagging along reached the ears of Old Master Cheng, who insisted that she send Qi Xiaoqi over. After all, when talking business, why bring a child along? It’s not like the family lacks people to look after him.

Old Master Cheng meant well, but Qi Xiaoqi didn’t want that. He preferred learning business alongside the familiar ”voice” of Cheng Su.

Cheng Su was left with no choice but to express Qi Xiaoqi’s wishes and took him to meet the Cheng family when she wasn’t busy to make a good impression, which satisfied Old Master Cheng.

From then on, Cheng Su had a little sidekick following her, quickly becoming known.

Seeing her son’s little figure, Cheng Su realized that plans could never keep up with changes; it really was true.

Back then, she thought of taking a few years off to care for and accompany her child. But unexpected to her, Heaven gave her a super son, and playing ordinary children’s games was out of the question. Qi Xiaoqi refused to engage in childish matters, preferring to read quietly and become a little scholar.

Now, many say Qi Xiaoqi is studious, although they think he’s merely looking at the pictures in illustrated books, not the words. They praise him as if there’s no one like him, making him beam with pride beyond comparison.

Sometimes, Cheng Su wonders if this is the halo a novel’s protagonist should have.

Most of July had passed before Fei Yin returned from the Capital, taking over the task of accompanying Qi Xiaoqi. Of course, she essentially became another sidekick, just trailing behind Cheng Su.

Because, with just her and Xiao Qi at home, it was boring; tagging along with Cheng Su for business was much more interesting.

”This nanny is quite pretty. Isn’t it a pity to let her be Xiao Qi’s nanny? How about becoming my assistant?” Zhan Qin’s eyes lit up upon seeing Fei Yin.

Cheng Su couldn’t help but laugh, saying, ”She’s not a nanny; she’s a friend of mine. It’s just that, for now, she’s helping me look after Xiao Qi for some reasons. Fei Yin is a special forces instructor, so don’t overthink it.”

Zhan Qin raised his eyebrows, glanced at Cheng Su, but didn’t press further.

With Fei Yin around, Cheng Su was slightly relieved, finally able to dive wholeheartedly into her work.

She wanted to build a star-rated hotel and was seeking investments everywhere. Fortunately, she had the Cheng family backing her, and Cheng Yaozong was eager to invest in her project as well, so this was the first major endeavor she tackled after moving to Guangcheng.

Building a star-rated hotel isn’t as simple as opening a restaurant; it requires referencing other hotel scales, hiring companies for design, planning land use, and transferring funds, which is the most crucial. Without sufficient funds, it’s likely the building gets constructed only to be left without money for renovations, ending up abandoned.

As for the team, it’s also important, so talent recruitment is a bustling activity for Cheng Su and the others.

With everything piled together, things aren’t as simple. Cheng Su and Zhan Qin were like spinning tops, endlessly dealing with project planning day and night...
