Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2010: Chapter 2012: Returning

Capital city, Ning Ge was still joking and laughing when he received Cheng Su’s call, but his smile instantly disappeared upon hearing her words, and he sat upright.

”Did you see her?” Ning Ge asked.

”No, it was Xiao Qi. You know that child has a keen intuition; he saw it last time, and this time too... it’s just a feeling...”

”Are you too stressed? Xiao Qi is only two years old.” Hearing her words, Ning Ge hesitated before speaking.

Cheng Su laughed: ”I know what you mean, Xiao Qi is still very young. But don’t you think... we’ve looked everywhere and couldn’t find her, and on our side, it’s not like we have any other enemies.”

Ning Ge pondered for a moment and said, ”You’re right; rather make a mistake in killing one than let a thousand go. If she really is in Guangcheng, it’s not impossible...”

After all, Cheng Su and her group are currently in Guangcheng, and Chiang Qing going there isn’t strange if she’s seeking revenge. She’ll definitely look for targets, and Cheng Su and her child are considered vulnerable, providing the best opportunity.

Thinking of this, Ning Ge’s expression also became serious. ”Then be careful when you go in and out, I’ll notify the Shen Family, and also tell Fei Yin not to leave. Better safe than sorry.”

Cheng Su felt her heart tighten: ”I understand.”

”Don’t worry too much, if she really is in Guangcheng, we’ll definitely find her when the tables turn.” Ning Ge comforted.

Cheng Su chuckled bitterly. ”Yeah,” she replied, then asked, ”By the way, do you know anything about Qi Taiguo?”

Ning Ge said, ”No news from him, but I know another group has gone to Aid Africa.”

Cheng Su’s heart sank immediately. ”Did something happen?”

”Probably not, I think maybe it’s just a rotation, don’t be too tense. If it’s just a rotation, then he should be coming back soon.”

Cheng Su immediately breathed a sigh of relief. If that’s the case, she’d be thrilled, it’s good news indeed.

After putting down the phone, Qi Xiaoqi noticed Cheng Su’s mood had turned from somber to cheerful.

”What?”

Before Qi Xiaoqi could say anything more, Cheng Su hugged and kissed him, happily saying, ”Your dad might be returning soon.”

Returning is fine, but why the kiss... huh?

”Is he coming back?” Qi Xiaoqi was somewhat surprised: ”Who said that?”

”Your godfather said that, although it’s not confirmed yet. He only mentioned that another group had already gone over for rotation, so it seems he’s coming back soon.” Cheng Su smiled broadly.

Qi Xiaoqi murmured oh, perhaps feeling a bit emotionally stirred, he also felt joy in his heart that Old Qi is coming back!

”Who, who is coming back?” Mother Qi heard a snippet and immediately asked.

”Oh, just saying Taiguo, having been gone for so long, should be returning.” Cheng Su didn’t specify when he’d return. First, because she wasn’t sure, and secondly, not to have Mother Qi constantly asking.

On hearing this, Mother Qi’s face filled with longing: ”He should come back, he should come back. Having been away for more than half a year, I miss him dearly.”

Cheng Su faintly smiled and said yes, wasn’t she also missing him to the point of heartache?

Mother Qi walked away, muttering to herself.

Fei Yin smiled at Cheng Su and said, ”The clouds have cleared.”

Cheng Su glanced at her and then conveyed Ning Ge’s message, saying that to avoid accidents, they must be cautious and avoid going out unnecessarily to ensure safety.

”You’re a frightened bird now; if Chiang Qing knows, she’d be quite satisfied.” Fei Yin raised her eyebrow.

Cheng Su paused, knowing that she meant this anxious living is succumbing to the enemy’s psychological tactics, which made her smile bitterly.

How could she not understand? But her heart just isn’t at ease.
