Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 2002: Chapter 2004: Professional Son-Trapper

After coming back from the Cheng family, Cheng Su was privately pulled aside by Mother Cheng, asking if Xiao Qi could see something bad and whether they should go pray or something.

”You see, he was just born, and by the time he was a month old, he could already see those things, otherwise, how could he have bothered his grandma at that time? Now, could it be that he still sees them? Why don’t we go to the temple and ask for a Spirit Talisman to dissolve in water for him to drink? We mustn’t scare the child!”

Cheng Su had a headache and could only say that the child was talking nonsense, saying: ”He always mimics what’s said and done on TV now, Mom, you know this, right? He’s just speaking without thinking!”

That was true. Qi Xiaoqi usually stayed home, either flipping through books or watching TV, so he learned things especially fast, good and bad alike.

Mother Cheng looked at Qi Xiaoqi, sitting upright on the sofa watching TV seriously in the living room, and said no more.

After comforting her parents, Cheng Su dragged the culprit into the room, pulling a stern face and said to Qi Xiaoqi, ”Do you now know what showing off can lead to? Your grandma just asked if she should take you to the temple to pray and drink Talisman Water.”

Hearing the words Talisman Water made Qi Xiaoqi’s hair stand on end, and he looked at her: ”You didn’t agree, did you?”

Cheng Su’s lips curled coldly: ”You’re afraid? I thought you wouldn’t be scared!”

Qi Xiaoqi rolled his eyes: ”Who would want to drink that stuff!”

”If you don’t want to drink it, then be more discreet. Always making a scene, people look at you like you’re weird. Let me ask you, do you still dare to show off now?” Cheng Su said.

”I just don’t want Cheng Yaoyao acting foolish, treasuring a fake like it’s real, that’s so embarrassing!” Qi Xiaoqi said, swinging his short legs.

”Oh, so you’ve seen the real thing?” Cheng Su looked at him askew.

”Of course I have...” Qi Xiaoqi stopped himself, also looking back askew: ”Crafty and sly.”

Only half-successful in getting him to talk!

Cheng Su didn’t mind, sat down, and said: ”You really should stop showing off, especially with such profound truth-distinguishing. This time you say someone told you, but you also scared people. What excuse will you have next time?”

”Alright, I know, you and the TV keep talking about believing in science, and aren’t you just the same, believing in spirits and weird stuff?” Qi Xiaoqi rolled his eyes, thought for a moment, and said: ”Why don’t you enroll me in some school?” In school, if he’s a bit smarter, people won’t find it odd, right?

Cheng Su almost burst out laughing, glaring: ”You’re so young, and you want to enroll in school? Other kids want a carefree childhood and can’t have it, and you want to learn to be an adult? Forget it, just fulfill your role as a good child. Kids should be innocent, lively, and cute, that’s the way to be. Besides, even if we enrolled you in school, what amazing knowledge can a two-year-old learn?”

Qi Xiaoqi said: ”If you don’t enroll me in school, how do you explain my natural intelligence? What if I suddenly come up with a poem, then you...”

”That would be up to your own control and explanation. If you say it, then you have to cover it up and explain it yourself, I won’t help you.” Cheng Su cut him off.

Qi Xiaoqi glared with big eyes: ”Is this how you are as a mom?” Not a drop of protective instinct.

”Yes, it is, I’m just like this. I’m also training your adaptability!” Cheng Su smiled innocently.

Qi Xiaoqi was speechless with anger.

Cheng Su walked out of the room proudly.
