Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1587 - 1588: The Living Are More Terrifying

A few days later, Ning Ge looked at the investigative intelligence Bai Ying handed over, his handsome eyebrows furrowed, and he said: ”That’s all?”

Heart attack, purely accidental.

”That’s all we have.” Bai Ying sipped the orange juice from the crystal glass. It was true, the juice here was delicious, so she waved for the waiter to bring another glass.

Ning Ge said: ”Bai Ying, we were partners before, no need to talk about our relationship. Now we’re good friends, right? You’re being a bit unfair, aren’t you?”

Such information really doesn’t have much persuasive power.

”Whether you believe it or not, that’s what the investigation found.” Bai Ying said: ”That Gao has severe diabetes and needs regular insulin shots. If he indeed took something to spice things up, the conflict between the two might have easily led to his death. Besides, he’s not young anymore, but a man in his sixties.”

Meaning that he’s old and not useful anymore, if there’s something too exciting, a sudden cardiac arrest, what does it matter?

”I don’t quite believe it.” Ning Ge pursed his lips and said: ”He’s almost retired, even if he has this kind of interest, he would surely think about saving his own life, wouldn’t act recklessly like this.”

Bai Ying chuckled: ”Couldn’t he be a pervert?”

”What do you mean?”

Bai Ying then handed over another piece of information and said: ”This is confidential; since we’re ’good friends,’ if Old Pan finds out, I’m doomed.”

Ning Ge opened it to find Gao’s perverted hobbies, along with photos.

Feeling disgusted, he put it away and said: ”So, the Gao Family won’t pursue this matter?”

”He only has one daughter. Madam Gao plans to go abroad with her after his funeral. Besides, how can such a scandal be pursued? Not to mention the Gao Family, even the city government won’t pursue it.” Bai Ying said lightly.

Gao Hongbo holds not a low rank. If such a scandal spread, the impact would be extremely bad. If the autopsy report proves Gao Hongbo really died of overexertion, they probably wouldn’t pursue it further. After all, such an embarrassing incident.”

”Such a ruthless mind, such a clever trick!” Ning Ge thought for a moment and grasped the key point.

Not pursuing further and without special evidence, it becomes a natural death case, flawless. Whoever targeted Gao Hongbo naturally slipped away easily.

Ning Ge simply couldn’t believe it was just an accident. It’s definitely man-made, and the person...

”No trace of Chiang Qing found?” Ning Ge looked at Bai Ying again.

Bai Ying shook her head and said: ”If it’s as you think, and Chiang Qing did it, then someone must have helped her. I’ve seen all the investigative materials, and there’s no trace of her there.”

”It’s impossible. She lived in that villa for so long, there must be some trace!” Ning Ge said: ”Moreover, it’s not like no one knows she and Gao Hongbo appeared!”

”But indeed, no trace of her can be found.” Bai Ying shrugged and said: ”Let’s just say, whoever helped her has such remarkable skills that they completely extracted her.”

Ning Ge’s face darkened.

”The memorial service is over, the case is settled, and higher-ups don’t want it leaked out. You shouldn’t dig deeper, the dead are dead, and besides, Gao wasn’t clean. Dead is dead!” Bai Ying sneered.

Ning Ge said: ”As you said, dead is dead. I’m just concerned about who killed him. There’s nothing to fear from the dead, but the living are scarier!” And if Gao Hongbo’s death is really related to Chiang Qing, then who helped her?

Bai Ying remained silent, and Ning Ge said: ”Do me another favor, will you?”
