Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1569: Chapter 1570: Turning the Tables

Cheng Su and her dad had a heartfelt talk, and the father and daughter felt like friends chatting today. When Father Qi and the others returned, they saw the two enjoying familial bliss.

Mother Qi returned from paying her respects and eagerly asked, ”Where’s my Xiao Qi?”

Cheng Su chuckled inwardly. Before Xiao Qi was born, all she talked about was her son; now that her grandson arrived, it’s all about the grandson!

”Just fell asleep not long ago!” Cheng Su explained with a smile, ”Did you have fun at the temple this time?”

”I’m exhausted... ouch.” Qi Fengping held her head and glared at Mother Qi, ”Mom, why did you hit me? It doesn’t hurt!”

”Who told you to speak ill, coming back from the temple and saying unlucky words?” Mother Qi glared at her, then turned to Cheng Su, ”The temple visit was very smooth. I even got an excellent divination, all good signs. By the way, here’s this for you.”

She took out a triangular red envelope tied with a red string from her pocket and said, ”I got a peace charm for Xiao Qi. Pin it on his clothes with a safety pin, so he can be protected from any bad things and not be frightened.”

Bad things, perhaps the grandma was truly scared!

Cheng Su accepted it and said, ”Xiao Qi thanks grandma, I’ll pin it on him later.”

Mother Qi felt very satisfied with Cheng Su’s compliance. If only such a cooperative attitude could always be like this, there wouldn’t have been so many teeth marks between them.

What she didn’t know was that Cheng Su simply liked the words ”peace and safety.” Hanging it on her son was nothing, not like drinking it.

Mother Qi sat down, waiting for her grandson to wake up. After burning incense and praying to the Bodhisattva, surely the grandson would be willing to let her hold him?

However, no matter how much she prayed to all the gods, Qi Xiaoqi still refused to let her hold him. As soon as he was in Mother Qi’s hands, he cried out loud.

Mother Qi cried out herself too, ”Sweetie, you’re breaking this old lady’s heart!”

No matter how unwilling she was, seeing Qi Xiaoqi’s tear-streaked face and his sobbing little expression, she could only hand him back to Cheng Su.

Qi Taiguo finally witnessed the power of his son’s rejection of his old mother and followed Cheng Su into the room.

”Give me the little guy, see if I don’t teach him a lesson.” Qi Taiguo said darkly.

Cheng Su avoided him and said, ”What lesson? Put away that dark face of yours, don’t scare my son. If you act like your mom, he might not let you hold him either, and it’ll be you who’s crying then.”

Qi Taiguo’s mouth twitched and said, ”Then tell me, what’s up with him?”

”How should I know? Why don’t you ask him?” Cheng Su gave him a sideways look.

Qi Taiguo felt a headache, ”We can’t spoil him like this, he needs to get used to my mom’s care. Otherwise, who will take care of him in the future? You need to attend school, Cheng Zhi is going to Guangcheng, if your mother can help, will your father stay long-term back home?”

Cheng Su frowned, inevitably defending her son, ”The child is still young, how can he distinguish likes and dislikes?”

Qi Taiguo looked at her protective demeanor and muttered, ”I think he is deciding based on likes and dislikes right now, or else why does he solely resist being carried by my mom?”

”Yes, tell me, why does he specifically resist your mom?” Cheng Su smiled ambiguously at him, ”My son is only a month old, you say everyone loves him, why does he specifically dislike your mom?”

Qi Taiguo was caught off guard by her rebuttal and could only glare at Qi Xiaoqi, ”You tell your mom why?”

Qi Xiaoqi pouted, and cried loudly.

”Qi Taiguo, get out!” Cheng Su yelled.
