The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 244: 29 heroes are part of what they did...

After returning from the guild, the first thing I did was grab a call sheet and go to the classroom where all the heroes are gathered, which amounts to 29 students.

Entering the classroom, I see the Saint calmly sitting at a table while the students chat with each other, but as soon as I enter, everything goes silent.

”...I will be your new teacher,” I say coldly as I go to my place and grab the student list.

”I will make a single call, and the student who is not here will be severely punished,” I say, drawing everyone’s attention, and I soon begin the list.

”Hana Watanabe,” I start with Hana, looking directly at her and moving on to the next.

”Kaito Yoshida,” None of them respond, but I don’t need them to respond because I know exactly who is who.

”Yuki Suzuki,” The Saint seems uncomfortable with me starting the roll call in this way, as if something is wrong.

”Tsubasa Watanabe,” The students don’t seem to understand why the roll call seems so oppressive.

”Sakura Taniguchi,” But I’m deliberately making this roll call uncomfortable by putting mana into my voice.

”Kaori Fujimoto,” This is the reason why none of the students respond even when called.

”Riko Mitsuki,” Riko is the one I care the least about, knowing the truth about Amiya and because he was the one who did the least bad things to me.

”Elliot Kiyot”

”Kokona Ueno,” I look at her, she’s an energetic girl with light brown shoulder-length hair and golden eyes, who is obviously uncomfortable being called.

I guess the worst thing she did to me was constantly stealing my things before stopping when things got too serious.

”Sora Nakamura,” He’s a carefree young man with messy black hair and green eyes, he averts his gaze when I look at him.

I remember very well him shoving my head in the toilet, encouraged by his friends.

”Daiki Yamamoto,” He’s a tall guy with short black hair, with a confident look, he’s already beaten me up a few times under the pretext of ”sports training” when encouraged by Kaito.

”Itsuki Matsumoto,” A young man with a serene appearance, dark brown hair, and black eyes, he often interfered with my school projects, always causing me to have a grade reduction in this regard.

”Shun Inoue,” He’s a slender guy with white hair and light blue eyes, he participated with others in the bullying, not being so active, but still enjoying at my expense.

”Kenta Shimizu,” A muscular boy, with shaved black hair and brown eyes, he’s one of those who used me for ”training” until the 6 worst decided to have me as their private slave.

”Souta Abe,” A ”friendly” young man with short reddish hair and light brown eyes, he’s extremely false and flattering, who does everything that is asked of him to participate in the popular groups, and that includes bullying me.

”Hiroki Kuroda,” A young man with smooth black hair in a traditional cut and gray eyes, a very jerk who likes to diminish and humiliate others with words, as I was used to his words, they were no big deal to me.

”Ryota Fujita,” A student with bleached blond hair and brown eyes, he liked to treat me like a servant, making absurd requests for me to fulfill and giving me punches when I couldn’t.

”Keita Morita,” A short young man with messy brown hair and a constant smile, he’s the kind of idiot who thinks everything is funny and thinks that the fact that I was humiliated was entirely my fault, so he joined the bullying to follow the trend.

”Naoki Endo,” A teenager with black hair tied in a ponytail and sharp eyes. He liked to bet on how long I would last, making the bullying worse until he lost the bet.

”Takeru Sasaki,” A strong young man with dark brown hair and blue eyes, he’s in the group that physically abused me as if I were some kind of special punching bag.

”Shohei Ota,” A thin young man with natural gray hair and blue eyes, he liked to make me waste time doing various works for him, which caused me to have serious problems with school assignments and projects.

”Aoi Kinoshita,” A girl with long dark blue hair and brown eyes, she pretended to be my friend for 1 month only to shatter my hopes, although I already suspected it, so it wasn’t so painful to know the truth.

”Mei Ishikawa,” A girl with natural blonde hair and green eyes, she spread various rumors about me, clearly rumors that caused me problems and more isolation.

”Yume Okamoto,” A young girl with long, straight black hair and purple eyes, she participated with Mei to mess up my image.

”Natsuki Fujikawa,” A typical teenage girl with light brown hair and golden eyes who thinks too highly of herself and likes to step on and humiliate others to feel superior.

”Haruka Yamada,” She’s a girl with dark brown hair tied in a braid and soft green eyes, she seems like the ”nerd” type but is manipulative and likes to play with others’ feelings.

”Chinatsu Hoshino,” A short girl with short blonde hair and light brown eyes, she liked to spread conversations about me that were almost criminal, causing me to have problems with certain people on the streets sometimes.

”Nanami Kitagawa,” A girl with a delicate appearance, with straight black hair and large, brown eyes, just like everyone else, she has problems with having an ego bigger than she can sustain, joining the bullying as if it were a fashionable sport.

”Eri Sugimoto,” A shy young woman with short, dark brown hair and black eyes, she’s in the same category as Nanami, entering the bullying as if it were a fashionable sport.

And so my roll call ends, calling the names of the remaining 29 students. This roll call was obviously not to identify which students came and which ones were absent, it was actually a recapitulation.

A way to recall what these vermin did to me and how eager I am to pay them back with a much more expensive and heavy coin.

I’ll love to see them suffer, it’s truly exciting to know that their lives are now in my hands. I bet they never imagined that their bullying would do this.

They themselves notice how ”strange” the roll call was. I just mentioned their names, looked at them, and moved on to the next, but the feeling it gave was not that of a normal roll call.

After all, the focus was always just to give a small check-in on each of them in my own way.

”I see that everyone is present, I am satisfied,” The ”teacher” who was their teacher, but he is not participating as a student in the academy, and I can always deal with him later.

”Now listen, everyone, we will go to a dungeon and spend a lot of time there. If anyone has a doubt, shut up and don’t question it.”

”The Saint go is with us, so you can get hurt as much as necessary, and you won’t get help unless it’s a life-or-death situation. In this dungeon, you will reach your peak in bad experiences and learn that the world is not beautiful enough for you to stagnate.”

”I heard that your average power is between 60 and 80% of total power.” A truly impressive growth rate, no race could achieve so much level in such a short time.

”I know that a dungeon won’t make you reach all your power, but it will help you and give you the incentive you deserve.” It’s not the incentive they need, it’s the incentive I want to give.

”Now, everyone get ready because we’ll leave in 1 hour and 28 minutes. Whoever has any complaints, keep quiet and don’t share them, because unlike other teachers, I don’t care what you’ll say.”

”Enough with the good school life you’re having, you’re ridiculously weak even with your current statuses that far exceed the average.” They are clearly in Rank A, but even so, without experience and practice, it’s as if they were mere Rank C or B.

”Hey! Isn’t that unfair? You were a student last year, what guarantees you as a qualified teacher for us?” Kokona questions, troubled, probably because she had to change classrooms abruptly and now has to go to a dungeon.

”...Hmm...you heroes have been in this world a little over 1 year, you’re now in your second school year...so Kokona, tell me what you’ll do if I try to kill you now?”

”I’ll defend myself!” She speaks with confidence in her current strength.

”And do you think you can?” She’s greatly underestimating the situation, it seems she hasn’t learned anything from Vanessa’s death transmission.

”Of course I can!”

”Perfect, then I’m going to attack you right here and now without moving a single step from where I’m standing. If you manage to avoid any damage, I’ll leave the academy permanently.”

”Saint, prepare to heal her,” I murmur to the Saint, who gets ready. I didn’t want to cause trouble so soon, but they need to see who’s in control.

If it were Kaelith here, she might be able to defend herself, considering her current status, but since it’s me, she won’t be able to.

”[Vibration Scale]” I use one of my new spells, but with reduced and more concentrated strength. Kokona prepares only to be thrown to the ground with extreme violence.

The vibrations traveled through the air, rising up and then descending, generating a force that pushed her down, so I avoid breaking the room and affecting other students.

With this spell, I can even cause major seismic shocks, showing how excellent my magic control is at the moment.

”3 broken ribs, 1 fractured arm, and your leg almost destroyed, all without me leaving my spot or reciting a truly powerful spell.” It was easy to defend against this.

But the lack of experience made her trust her ”eyes” to block the attack. A true warrior or skilled mage would quickly notice the variations in the air and mana.

And as an action, they would dodge to the side or create a barrier.

”I guess no one else has doubts about what I said, right?” Kokona didn’t even use mana to strengthen her body, so she got hurt so much.

”...” No one says anything while the Saint heals Kokona.

”Great, get ready to leave, and those who are not ready and waiting in front of the academy will be punished. Come with me, Saint,” I say as I leave the room.

The Saint, who is very nervous about my presence, follows me without saying anything.
