The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 229: Returning to the Kingdom Correctly

”Zephyra, I’ll be leaving the kingdom for now, so behave, okay?” I speak to Zephyra, who is in the castle garden, soaking up some sun and drinking a beverage.

”Alright, Pandora, come back safely,” Zephyra says with a shy smile that warms my heart. We’ve become much closer lately, strengthening our bond.

She finally understands my love and no longer resists, which is a great happiness for me.

”Aokitsu, what are you doing here?” I question Aokitsu, who is merely observing the exchange of affection between Zephyra and me.

”... I’m just waiting... I didn’t know you were going to leave again. Can I know where you’re going?”

”No, go wag your tail for Freya, not for me.” This is another annoying point about the time I’ve spent in the kingdom Aokitsu, like a true animal, has decided to cling to me as if I were her owner, which is not entirely wrong.

It’s just not pleasant to have her trying to get close to me like a dog, especially since she’s now practically a commander in my army. It’s good that she’s become more loyal and obedient, but she should have a little more self-pride.

”Okay, ...”

”Go call Elena, I need her to activate the castle’s teleportation for me,” I say in an authoritative tone while observing the flower-filled garden, which I had built as a gift for Zephyra.

And I think she liked it, which is good, although she is still limited and cannot wander the city without Lilith accompanying her.

”Pandora, your ideas are incredible. How did you come up with this?” Zephyra asks, looking at the new city map I gave her, so she can stroll around with Lilith’s support. I trust Lilith a lot, and I know Zephyra will be safe with her.

”It was just a few ideas...” It was a mix of modern architecture combined with my own ideas and universal structural balance concepts, forming a truly beautiful and resilient city.

”Pandora... you really won’t change your mind, will you?” Zephyra asks, referring to my plans for the war.

”No, I won’t.”

”Even though you’ve decided to kill so many... I’m on your side, I hope everything goes well,” Zephyra says honestly. I approach her and give her a light kiss.

”Of course it will, my love. I’m smart and powerful, I have many tricks up my sleeve, and an excellent plan to use,” I won’t lose for anything in this world. I’ll crush them all and delight in their suffering.

”Pandora, you seem to have become more sadistic.”

”... Is that a problem?”

”It’s not a problem if you continue to be gentle with me,” Zephyra says, placing herself above all others. In the end, she never changed the fact that she has a great selfishness of her own.

”Of course, my darling and lovely wife. I’ll always be gentle with you as long as you stay within the established limits,” I don’t care if she’s selfish as long as it’s for me. She doesn’t need to care about others.

”I’m glad. You’re really doing wonders for me, I don’t even know why I resisted so much in the beginning,” She says with a gentle smile.

”Yes... I don’t know why you resisted my love,” It’s just strange, there was no reason for her to resist, but now everything is perfect.

”But Pandora, was that giant statue in the center of the city really necessary?”

”Well... a little narcissism is never bad, hahaha,” I say with a laugh, referring to the massive statue of me in the city center, with the human goddess used as a stool.

”Okay... but the position... I think it’s a bit... mischievous?”

”Hahaha, think of it as a little childish prank.” There’s no way I’m changing that. It was too funny to make that statue, and everyone who sees it will see the scene of me using another goddess as a seat.

”Besides, the public loved it! The public evaluation reached great levels, even the beast men liked it! It seems they don’t like the human goddess either.”

”If you’re happy with the result, then I’m happy too,” Zephyra simply agrees. She generally always agrees with what makes me happy, but she also denies things and speaks up when she’s bothered, being transparent and honest.

”Yes, I’m satisfied with the result I wanted to convey...” Everything is going perfectly as I want it to. Of course, some flaws or variables are inevitable, but I’m still able to control everything.

’I should also visit the pocket universe I created...’ I expanded the size, but I haven’t personally seen how the suffering of the first hero I defeated is going. It’s a sweet conquest to know that she is suffering there inside, unable to die.

I wonder if she has already broken, or still has hopes that she can perhaps one day escape, but she has no way to flee from that place, nor does she have the power to try to resist.

After all, a common human could never defeat one of the beings I created there, since everyone inside is physically strong, fast, and resilient, as well as regenerating.

”It seems the teleportation is ready...” I murmur as I feel the magic. My mana detection has become absurd now that I have 50% of my full power. I can sense mana variations up to 30 kilometers away without much effort.

And if I try, I think I can cover the entire demonic territory with my mana to detect mana variations.

”Zephyra, I have to go. It’s a shame that I’m so busy, but I’ll soon have plenty of time to take care of you,” I say as I start walking away.

”Goodbye, Pandora, good luck. I love you,” She says goodbye in a way that really accelerates my heart. How can I have such a cute wife? I really wanted to spend more time here.

But I must go to the human kingdom and proceed with the plan to infiltrate the church. I may also need to kidnap Evangeline... she will be a human I will keep alive because she is the reincarnation of my aunt.

Although, since she apparently ”likes” me in a suspicious way, she will probably like being kidnapped, but her will doesn’t matter much. I need to ensure her safety.

”There are so many things to do,” I murmur as I reach the room with the teleportation circles. This room has been renovated with the addition of several new teleportation circles to different areas of the city.

”Everything is ready for your departure, Your Majesty,” Freya and Aokitsu speak at the same time while waiting beside Elena.

”Great, I’ll leave the general administration to Elena, and the army administration to you two, Freya and Lilith... As for Calypso, have her take care of the city’s outskirts as punishment for her recent laziness! She’s been sleeping too much, picking up Lilith’s bad habits.”

”Understood, Your Majesty,” Freya says as I step onto the magic teleportation circle. Finally, I’ll be returning properly to the human kingdom.

I just hope I can find Mikael soon so I can beat him up. I even filled Violet with so much of my mana that she’s basically recovered, and now I have a Violet full of power.

Although that made Violet more talkative, so I had to find a way to shut her up, opting to ”lock” her in her house by threatening to devour her continuously, putting her in a sword and eating the sword immediately.

And it worked, making her choose to stay more in her house, since it was getting annoying to have her talking to me all the time, especially with disdain.

We don’t have a bad relationship, she’s just irritatingly chatty when she decides to keep talking to me, which distracted me from my work when I was focusing on it.

”Pandora, good luck,” Elena says as she activates the magic circle, taking me out of my reverie.

”Thank you,” I just say ”thank you” as I am teleported to the mansion, only to find Kaelith in front of me. She has tear marks on her eyes, smeared makeup, and seems very sad.

’What could make this pervert cry?’ I wonder as I take my medicine to hide my non-human parts and monster aura.

”Any problem, Kaelith?” I’m slightly concerned. Could something problematic for me have happened during the time she’s been here?

”Y-Your Majesty h-has changed, now we’re no longer alike,” She says, with her tears increasing.

”... Is that it? Is that the reason for the crying? Because I’ve grown up?” This is frustratingly surprising. She’s sad because we’re no longer alike? That’s so ridiculous.

”Y-Yes, now that we’re not alike anymore, I can’t take your place when you need me, and part of my purpose for existing has vanished. Now I’m like those many failures stored in my room...”

’She’s really very sad about this...’ This is truly surprising. She, who moaned with pleasure and orgasmed from being whipped with a whip, is now just crying, something I really didn’t expect.

”Calm down, Kaelith. I won’t discard you or anything like that. You still have duties to fulfill, even if you can no longer impersonate me.”

”R-Really?”

”Yes, I have several other missions for you. Now go back to the castle and carry out some tasks. We’ll talk later.”

”O-Okay.”

”Now go back to the castle, wipe those tears, and calmly wait to do something.”

”O-Okay, Your Majesty,” She steps onto the magic circle to teleport back, while I go to my room to adjust my uniform to my new body size.
