Supreme Husband System! & Supreme Wife System!

Chapter 236: The real danger from the side effect

The morning started with a pleasant atmosphere and romantic notes when Idan prepared a delicious breakfast. However, in just a few moments, everything changed due to a message from the System, turning into a real nightmare.

Idan was horrified by the sudden change in Arabel. That was what he was most afraid of.

Coco, unable to stand the fear and outburst of madness energy at close range, lost consciousness and went limp in Arabelʼs arms.

Arabelʼs long red hair and azure eyes turned pinkish purple, and she had a sinister smile on her face as she looked at Idan.

”Eh...Belle... are you all right?” said Idan with difficulty.

”Hehe hehe, Dan, Dan, donʼt you want to explain yourself to me?” Even her voice changed, becoming more seductive, but with a hint of hidden danger.

”Damn! Damn!” — Idan exclaimed in his mind. ”System, whatʼs going on? Do you want me dead? What kind of joke is this?”

[Host, this is not a joke. System reminds you that you have already received two warnings. After the third warning, you will be punished by System! At the moment, System is omitting this question, limiting itself to just a reminder.]

Idan was speechless, barely able to contain his anger at System.

”Belle... what do you want to know?” After gathering his thoughts, he decided to clarify the situation by asking Arabel a question.

”You know very well yourself...” Still hugging the unconscious Coco with one arm, Arabel stood up, and a sword appeared in her hands. Idan jumped back in fright and fell on his back.

”Dan, Dan, Dan. Tell me honestly, who is she?”

”Who is she?! Dan!” Arabel said in a firm and demanding voice, pointing her sword at him.

”Belle, listen to me. I donʼt understand who youʼre talking about, but before I met you, I didnʼt have a single girlfriend. You know almost all the women I know.” Idan realized that the notification from the System had caused Arabel to misunderstand him, and before she could clarify everything, the side effect got the better of her emotions from the unexpected shock, and the situation spiraled out of control.

”Donʼt lie to me, Dan! I... I trusted you!” Arabel, being under the influence of a side effect, began to cry, feeling betrayed.

”Belle, believe me, Iʼm not lying! Iʼm still a virgin! Ask System, it most likely knows this and will confirm that Iʼm not lying!” blurted out Idan, trying to save the situation before things went too far.

Arabel froze when she heard this answer, then, with trembling lips, she decided to ask the System:

”System… Is that true?”

[Yes, Host. Your partner is still a nineteen-year-old virgin.]

”Really?” — Arabel asked, not immediately believing and deciding to clarify.

[Yes, Host. Your partner is still a nineteen-year-old virgin.]

”Hehe hehe, really?” Arabelʼs mood instantly changed, and a look of joy appeared on her face.

[Yes, Host. Your partner is still a nineteen-year-old virgin.]

Idan, who was watching this scene, had his right eye twitching. He heard System repeat to Arabel three times that he was still a nineteen-year-old virgin.

When Arabel finally got the answers to her questions and was convinced that Idan had not deceived her and that it was all just a misunderstanding, she felt relieved.

Relaxing, Arabel dropped her sword and, feeling suddenly weak and dizzy, fell to the snow and lost consciousness.

”Belle!” exclaimed Idan, running up to her. He picked Arabel up and anxiously checked her condition. Her eyes were closed, her breathing was heavy, and her heartbeat was rapid. Having lost consciousness, she opened her arms, dropping the poor girl on the white snow.

”Woo-woo-woo.” Still trembling with fear, Coco really wanted to go up to him and snuggle up to his warm body, but seeing how he took care of his Mistress, she was afraid.

Still trembling with fear, Coco really wanted to go up to him and snuggle up to his warm body, but seeing how he took care of his Mistress, she was afraid.

Ned, who had also been with them from the very beginning, quickly retreated to a safe distance as soon as he felt the sudden change in the Hostʼs partner.

He wasnʼt afraid that anything would happen to his master. He was also aware that if necessary, his master could easily summon him using his unique abilities.

Idan didnʼt want to speculate about Arabelʼs condition, he wanted to get an answer from System right away.

[Host, due to the sudden shock, the side effect hit her mind harder than ever. At the same time, the pure Madness Energy of the Host itself was activated, which put a heavy strain on her mind.]

After hearing the disappointing response from System, Idan picked Arabel up and carried her to the tent. He took off most of her winter clothes, laid her on a soft sleeping bag and sat next to her to monitor her condition.

During the seven days of the journey, their bodies had almost completely recovered from the wounds sustained during the Ascension Trial inflicted by the Energy of Madness. Now they could use this energy without much fear.

However, System warned them not to get carried away with using the pure Energy of Madness for now. Itʼs better to focus on strengthening your existing skills with this energy.

Although they have learned how to control the Energy of Madness, it will take time for their body and mind to fully adapt and develop resistance and immunity to it.

Idan and Arabel were both determined not to use the Energy of Madness unnecessarily. But who would have thought that because of a side effect, Arabel would unknowingly activate it, thereby harming herself.

Idan was very concerned about Arabelʼs condition and prayed that she would be okay and that the effects of the Madness Energy would not worsen her condition. He was sitting next to her, waiting for her to wake up.

Soon Coco entered the tent. Seeing how worried the Master was about the Mistress, she decided to do what she did best — she lay down next to Arabelʼs head, trying not to disturb her, but at the same time gently touching her so that her unique ability would help the Mistress relax.

Ned followed Coco into the tent in his usual dark fox form and lay down next to Idan. From time to time, he glanced at his Master, then at the Masterʼs partner.

Arabel did not regain consciousness until the evening, and there were no signs of her waking up soon.

Idan also calmed down a little, but his anxiety did not leave him. He left Arabel and Coco in the tent, and he and Ned went outside. There he built a bonfire and cooked dinner to eat himself and feed the two ”children.”

At night, Idan lay down next to Arabel, and Ned and Coco joined him. He looked at Arabel sleeping and did not notice how he himself fell asleep.

In the morning, Idan woke up early. Arabel was still unconscious. After lying down for a while longer, Idan got up, left the tent, lit a fire and began to cook breakfast to feed the ”children”.

Idan wasnʼt sure if Coco and Ned needed food at all. But over the past week, Ned and Coco had eaten with them every time, and Idan and Arabel were both glad of their company. Since then, Idan has started cooking not only for himself and Arabel, but also for these two.

Towards noon, Arabel finally began to show signs of waking up soon.
