Chapter 229: Checking Status the next morning

After flying a sufficient distance from the capital, Ned landed in a small clearing. He immediately took the form of his master, and Arabel saw two identical Idans.

”Ned, change your appearance!” exclaimed Arabel when she saw the two Idans.

Ned looked at Arabel in disbelief, not understanding what was happening to his Masterʼs partner.

”Ned, you need to change your appearance. From now on, youʼll be with us, so you need a separate identity. Donʼt take my form without permission,” Idan explained.

Realizing this, Ned immediately adopted a completely new appearance of a young man with brown hair and green eyes. He was slightly shorter than Idan and had a slim build.

”Good,” Idan was pleased with Nedʼs new look, as was Arabel.

”Ned, help me set up the tent,” Idan wasted no time as he immediately began to take out the equipment from the storage.

Ned was happy to help, and soon the tent was ready. Leaving Ned on duty, Idan and Arabel went to bed without another word. They were so exhausted that they didnʼt even bother to set up a second tent.

Arabel, still holding Coco, went to bed with her. Like a good girl who had already received an award, Coco did not run away and spent the whole night in the arms of the Mistress, helping her to relax and sleep well.

Idan, feeling the warmth and softness of the sleeping bag, quickly fell asleep as soon as he lay down next to Arabel.

For a couple who were in another world just a two of days ago and spent the last few days camping in nature, another such overnight stay has become a familiar thing.

The next morning, Idan woke up first and was again faced with a surprise.

This time, he didnʼt hug Arabel, as he had the last night they spent together after drinking, and he didnʼt find Coco sleeping on his chest.

Instead, when Idan opened his eyes, he was faced with the gaze of a large black fox, who, clinging to his body and resting his head on his chest, looked directly into his eyes.

Idan almost screamed, but at the last moment he restrained himself, feeling a connection with this fox. Only then did he realize that this black fox was none other than Ned, who had taken the form of a black fox from the Forest of Doppelgangers.

Looking into the black foxʼs eyes, Idan felt Nedʼs emotions, which were transmitted through their contract. He immediately realized that at this moment Ned craved his affection and attention.

Idan raised his hand and gently placed it on the foxʼs head, and the fox closed his eyes and enjoyed himself. Idan started stroking his head, and Ned purred with pleasure and wagged his big tail.

Due to the fact that Ned could take the form of almost any creature, it was difficult for Idan to understand his true identity.

Even now, looking at Ned in the guise of a black fox, who demanded affection and care like an ordinary pet, Idan felt some confusion.

After ruffling Nedʼs fur a bit more, Idan decided to check Status.

At first glance, there were no significant changes in Idanʼs status. However, if look closely, can see several important points.

First, Idan affection for Arabel had reached 67 percent, and there wasnʼt much left to 75 percent. Idan began to wonder what percentage of this figure Arabel had. He was especially interested in whose affection was higher— his or hers.

The second thing that caught Idanʼs attention was the percentage of transfer of the stats to the partner. After reaching 50 percent, this indicator stopped changing, remaining at around 50 percent.

There were no changes in the title or uniqueness after the level increase. Nothing has disappeared, and nothing new has appeared.

Their level has increased to 25. After reaching level 20, Idan and Arabel have already completed many tasks, including part of the World Quest. Therefore, they were not surprised that their level rose so quickly after the Ascension Trial.

They realized that they could have easily reached level 30 if the System hadnʼt blocked this promotion.

”Well, the System knows better, — Idan thought, looking at his level.

With an increase of 5 levels, their basic stats have increased significantly. Each of them increased by about 50 points.

It was hard for Idan to imagine how strong they had become looking at these numbers.

After the main stats, there is a new item that did not exist before — ”Extra Stats”. This line displayed only one stat, Madness Energy, with the number 500, which significantly exceeded the other main stats.

Idan decided to postpone the issue of the Energy of Madness for later and continued to study his status.

His abilities have not undergone any changes. Even the ability levels remained the same as before the upgrade.

Finally, he paid attention to the Systemʼs Functions.

The first available function for him and Arabel was ”Trade”. They had a total number of system points, which was now just under 1,500. A couple more purchases, and there will be nothing left of this amount, and without these purchases, after buying 14 packages of sweets for Coco, there will be nothing left at all.

Idan needed to find a stable and plentiful source of replenishment of System Points. There were so many attractive and necessary items in the ”Trade” function, but only a lack of points prevents the couple from purchasing them.

Before Idanʼs attention shifted to the next function they discovered after successfully passing the first Ascension Trial and obtaining the first bloodlines, Arabel began to wake up.

Coco, finally freed, ran out of the tent with lightning speed. She couldnʼt take it anymore, and she desperately needed to get back to her needs.
