CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1884: Chapter 1892: I Have You

”What are you up to~” Jane Sampson answered the video call, fiddling with the hair accessory in her hair today, and asked with a grin, ”Quick, do you still recognize this daisy hairpin?”

James Black naturally recognized it because he was the one who gave it to Jane Sampson.

Among all the jewelry James Black gave Jane Sampson, this daisy hairpin was not the most expensive. It wasn’t even from a major brand, yet Jane Sampson happened to love this hairpin the most and it was the one she used the most frequently.

This hairpin was something James Black noticed at first glance while passing by a shop of a small brand.

The diamond on it was bright, but not particularly valuable, yet when James Black saw the little daisy hairpin, he instinctively imagined how Jane Sampson would look wearing it. James Black intuitively felt Jane Sampson would like it, so he bought it and gave it to her along with other pieces of jewelry.

It turned out Jane Sampson’s fondness for this hairpin far exceeded James Black’s expectations.

She even took it with her when she went filming, and in this drama, her character’s accessories weren’t many. A lot of them were Jane Sampson’s own jewelry and outfits.

”It looks nice,” James Black complimented Jane Sampson again, seeing her happily showing it off, a gentle smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.

”Are you saying the hairpin looks nice, or that your Mrs. Black looks nice?” Jane Sampson pouted, her voice soft and persistent, demanding an answer from James Black.

”Both,” James Black replied softly, his voice filled with amusement, his eyes genuinely reflecting the delight in his heart.

”Originally, the film crew prepared a hair accessory for the scene where the male lead gives the female lead a gift to celebrate the female lead winning an award for the first time. Later, the director saw the hairpin I was wearing and asked me to use my own instead, saying it was much more exquisite and beautiful than what the supporting staff prepared. Everyone praised how unique this hairpin was.”

Jane Sampson was laughing so joyfully, chattering away to James Black without realizing how much time went by as she engaged in conversation with him.

It wasn’t until Coco Edwards, who was standing not far away, kept glancing over in her direction that Jane Sampson realized she was being chatty again, yet she was reluctant to hang up on the video call with James Black.

”How come you have time to call me at this moment? Right, did you see the messages in the WhatsAPP group? Grandma actually changed the group’s name, do you think Jillian Carter’s eyes and nose are crooked with anger? Although she came to reconcile with me today, I always feel like she’s up to something.”

Jane Sampson let out a light hum, ”Before she left, she even deliberately mentioned the family group on WhatsApp to me. She probably wanted to see me get angry, but didn’t expect she’d get annoyed first.”

”I know.” James Black nodded, ”Coco Edwards just now sent me a text message about this. Be careful handling it, she indeed doesn’t seem like someone who’d make peace with you easily.”

James Black reminded Jane Sampson, ”And there’s also Jillian Carter’s husband, Joseph Shaw. His tactics are much more sophisticated than Jillian Carter’s.”

”I’m not afraid,” Jane Sampson said, ”Jillian Carter and Joseph Shaw might be something, but I’m Jane Sampson and I have my daddy Black! Hmph!”

”Looks like you need some scolding?” James Black’s face turned dark, ”There’s no way I have such a grown-up daughter.”

”Hehe~” Jane Sampson grinned, baring her small white teeth at the camera in triumph. Anyway, James Black couldn’t scold her now, and by the time she returned to Capital Province, he’d probably have forgotten about it.
