CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1858: Chapter 1866: Really?

Jillian Carter looked at the room that suddenly became empty, looked at Father Carter with furrowed eyebrows, and said, ”Dad, I’m not being capricious, nor am I sulking with you. You both know, I had a lot of issues with Jane Sampson in the past. If I continue to stay here, it’ll only annoy her more, and I’m afraid she’ll feel like I’m still occupying her stuff and refusing to leave.”

Jillian walked over and hugged Mother Carter, ”Mom, don’t feel sad. I’ll come back to visit you and dad when I have time. Jane Sampson is so nice, later on, with her accompanying you and dad, you both will be very happy. Once Jane is used to this place, used to me, if she doesn’t mind, I can move back, it’ll be the same. Leaving now is just temporarily, to give her enough space to adapt. I’m not dad and mom’s daughter; for dad and mom to have loved me for so long, I’m really content.”

Jillian’s words immediately brought tears to Mother Carter’s eyes.

”Mom, when I moved into this home, I was young and naive. As soon as I got in, I set my eyes on this largest and nicest room. I said I wanted this room, and you just said to give it to me, and even told Brother not to compete with me. Now, the best room in this house should be given to your biological daughter.”

After saying these words, Jillian turned to glance at Father Carter again, ”Dad, you work hard, be sure to take care of yourself. I’m leaving now.”

As the flowers fell, Jillian let go of Mother Carter, turned around, and followed Joseph Shaw, who was carrying her luggage, leaving the Carter Family.

Mother Carter stood there, sighing several times.

The nanny next to them saw this and asked, ”Mister, Madam, should we clean up this room again? Change the home furnishings or something? Or change everything altogether?”

”No need, just leave it as it is.” Father Carter shook his head, ”Jane wouldn’t want to stay in a room where others have lived before after she comes back.”

Subconsciously, Father Carter felt that if Jane Sampson and Jillian Carter were truly at odds, having Jane move into a room where Jillian had lived for 20 years would certainly unsettle her.

Standing next to him, Mother Carter thought for a moment and said, ”Go and redo the entire room next to James Carter’s inside and out. Jane gets along well with Brother James, she’ll be happy staying next to him.”

After a pause, Mother Carter added, ”When she gets here and sees this room, if she says she likes it, it’s not too late to redo it then.”

By this time, Jillian, who had already sat in Joseph Shaw’s car and left the Carter Family, couldn’t help but throw a huge fit inside the car.

”I’ve given up everything, even my room, and now there’s no room for me in the Carter Family.” Jillian cried loudly while leaning there, and after she was exhausted from crying, she turned to look at Joseph.

She asked, ”Do you think what I’m doing is really useful?”

”It will be useful,” Joseph Shaw reassured the anxious and uneasy Jillian.

Meanwhile, his own heart was also filled with unease.

He knew he shouldn’t instruct Jillian like this, but seeing her on the verge of collapse every day, he found it unbearable. He wanted her to be happy.

If only for now, it’s good enough.

”Really?” Jillian was still somewhat skeptical, ”Pretending to be sensible, pretending to know I was wrong, pretending to give way, will it really make dad and mom feel guilty towards me? Joseph Shaw, what you taught me, to give everything away until there’s nothing left to give, will dad and mom only feel more heartache for me seeing me like this?”
