CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1881: Chapter 1889: Just Watch and See

There are only six people in this group, not including Jillian Carter.

”In the family group, mom, dad, and grandparents mean that after our movie premieres, we’ll hold a family banquet at the Carter home and formally introduce you to relatives and friends before adding you to the group. There are quite a few young ones in the group, and they’re worried that if they add you now, your identity would be revealed prematurely, affecting our current movie.”

James Carter was explaining why Jane Sampson hasn’t been added to the family group yet.

”Alright, I’ll listen to mom and dad.” Jane Sampson smiled indifferently and waved her hand.

She knew that James Carter was saying all this because he was afraid she’d overthink it.

No matter what kind of mindset Jillian Carter had, knowing full well that Jane wasn’t in the family group, she still blatantly mentioned things about the family group to her. Since she knew and wasn’t in the group, James Carter was worried she’d overthink.

James Carter was busy and didn’t have much time to talk with Jane Sampson, so he added Jane to the family group with Jillian Carter and Joseph Shaw and then left.

After James Carter went far away, Coco Edwards scooted back next to Jane Sampson, whispering in a knowing tone, ”Did that weasel take the wrong medicine today? Actually apologizing so seriously?”

”I want to know too.” Jane Sampson shrugged.

”I was standing next to you watching the way Jillian Carter spoke with you just now, and the way she waved goodbye to you and Mr. Carter with a smile when she left. Those who don’t know might think you and Jillian Carter have been friends for a long time, and that she really has no grievances against you.”

Coco Edwards rubbed her chin thoughtfully, reminding Jane Sampson, ”You have to stay cautious. It always feels like Jillian Carter’s change is quite surprising.”

”I’ll deal with whatever comes,” Jane Sampson said. ”If she’s sincere about making up, for the sake of not troubling mom and dad, I won’t go head-to-head with her. But if she’s pretending, it’s fine as long as we remain in peace.”

”In any case, you should still be careful around someone as petty as Jillian Carter.” Coco Edwards advised earnestly, ”Don’t get fooled by her, Jillian Carter is no Amber Edwards, nor is she Julie Sampton. Keep a clear head.”

”I’m aware of that.” Jane Sampson gave Coco Edwards a faint smile. ”I understand your concerns. Amber Edwards’ change in attitude towards me was because we never had a conflict of interest from the start, and also Amber is genuinely proud, too proud to play tricks.”

”As for Julie Sampton, her change was due to my help, letting her get more compensation from the Chip Family, ensuring her carefree second half of life. Julie’s change was because I brought her benefits and because she faced her downfall and had an epiphany.”

And Jillian Carter.

Jane Sampson held a skeptical view of Jillian Carter’s reconciliation.

Because her presence and return meant taking away everything Jillian Carter had, so naturally, Jillian should hate her for it.

After all, Jillian Carter’s personality is not particularly gentle or understanding.

On the contrary, Jillian is quite a selfish person.

Jillian Carter’s selfishness is definitely above that of Julie Sampton’s.

Although the damage Julie Sampton caused Jane Sampson is definitely greater than what Jillian Carter did, Jane couldn’t just say ”it’s okay” and really believe Jillian’s apology.
