CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1836: Chapter 1844: Putting the Greater Good First

”James Carter mentioned to me just now that he wants to make your situation public and asked for my opinion.” The director furrowed his brows and sighed helplessly, ”I hope you can delay the announcement until three months after the film’s premiere, to avoid any impact on the movie.”

Observing Jane Sampson’s slight change in expression, the director explained, ”As the male and female leads of this drama, although your romantic roles aren’t the main focus, there is still an underlying tension between the characters. If you reveal your sibling relationship at this time, it will greatly affect the film. I hope you both will seriously consider my request for the sake of the entire film crew.”

Having two real siblings play roles akin to lovers is, in any light, quite peculiar. It’s very likely to pull the audience out of the story.

Jane Sampson understood the director’s reasoning, but she couldn’t help but feel a little regretful.

Last night, she had wanted to loudly tell all her concerned fans that she had found her daddy and mommy.

But Jane also knew that considering the bigger picture, the director’s request was not without reason.

”Let’s listen to the director.” James Carter reached out gently to pat Jane Sampson’s head to comfort her, ”After the film premieres and runs for three months, we can reveal this secret together. I believe both I and mother will want to tell everyone that we are family.”

Jane Sampson looked up at James Carter. This was the second time he patted her head like that.

It was especially affectionate.

Jane Sampson could feel that James Carter had already included her, his real younger sister, in his world, and in his life.

Jane Sampson felt that this was enough.

Her family cared a lot about her, and that was enough.

”Alright, I’ll listen to the director.” Jane Sampson agreed without much hesitation, ”The director’s words make sense too. We all hope for the best for the film crew, and we all hope the film will be a huge success.”

Meanwhile, in the Carter Family.

Having heard from friends that yesterday James Carter brought his family to the film crew, and that they had all gone to find Jane Sampson, Jillian Carter took special leave from the film crew in the morning and took the earliest flight back to Capital Province.

Jillian Carter was worried that Jane Sampson would complain about her in front of their parents.

After all, during this time, she and Joseph Shaw had been making small moves behind Jane Sampson’s back.

Fearing that this would upset the family, she made a detour to the guard team before returning home, bringing Joseph Shaw along to accompany her to the Carter Family.

When the couple arrived at the Carter Family home, Old Sir Carter had just finished a phone call with Old Master Black, and they were already preparing to head to the airport to catch a flight.

”Why did you come back so suddenly?” Father Carter was a bit shocked to see Jillian and Joseph Shaw walk in, ”Weren’t you filming in Capital Province, Jillian?”

Noting her parents’ expressions and hearing her father’s calm tone of voice, which lacked the thunderous anger she had initially anticipated, Jillian realized that Jane Sampson hadn’t complained to the family about her.

The explanation she had prepared was unnecessary.

”Filming is nearly wrapped up, and it’s not too rushed, so I thought I’d come home while I had the chance.” Jillian Carter explained smoothly, then looked towards Old Sir Carter, her heart slightly trembling, yet she still managed to greet the two elders, ”Grandpa, Grandma, you’re here too.”

”Since you’re back, it’s just as well, let’s talk about this matter with them now.” Old Sir Carter sat back down on the sofa, ”After all, the original plan was to call them back in a couple of days to inform them about this.”
