CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1832: Chapter 1840: Tell the Truth

And the issue Jane Sampson and James Carter are discussing at this moment is also the question several seniors in the Carter Family are contemplating.

On the road home in the car, Mother Carter couldn’t help but mention Jillian Carter.

What she worried about was exactly what Jane Sampson was worrying about.

”How should we talk to this child Jillian about this?” Mother Carter said, ”In the past, it was the hospital’s mistake that led to regrets in three families and impacted these three children for a lifetime. This child Jillian has become increasingly sharp over the years. Of all the people in the world, it’s Jane she clashes with, it’s Jane she doesn’t get along with.”

Mother Carter was deeply troubled by this issue.

Although Jillian Carter was not her biological daughter, she was still a child she had cared for over 20 years. She couldn’t just abandon this daughter because of something that was suddenly discovered tonight.

Emotionally, Mother Carter couldn’t do it.

Therefore, Mother Carter hoped to find a way to minimize the damage to both of these children.

”Speak the truth.” Granny Carter’s voice was cold and hard, ”This is reality. Whether she accepts it or not, she must. The Carter Family raised her, and we owe her nothing. We can face her with a clear conscience.”

Old Sir Carter agreed with Granny Carter’s viewpoint.

”Ideally, Jillian and Jane can coexist peacefully. If not, then Jillian must step back and compromise with Jane.” Though one child was raised under his watch, Old Sir Carter ultimately favored Jane Sampson in his heart.

Because the actions of Jillian Carter had angered him and his wife many years ago.

If it weren’t for Jillian Carter, their eldest grandson wouldn’t be bound to a cane for a lifetime.

Old Sir Carter didn’t hide his resentment towards this granddaughter Jillian Carter, a resentment that existed even before knowing Jillian wasn’t a biological Carter child.

”Since Jillian Carter isn’t our child, the Carter Family raised her until she married, gave her a huge dowry, the Carter Family has done more than enough for her. Jane is our child and must be acknowledged back. It would be best if Jillian is happy, but if unhappy, she also has to endure it.”

Old Sir Carter’s attitude was firm, ”I won’t allow you to wrong this child Jane because of Jillian. Compared to Jillian, Jane is the child we need to compensate, and Jane is the child Old Black watched grow up. This child has good nature, as long as Jillian doesn’t harbor ill intentions, Jane won’t bully anyone proactively.”

”Gwendolyn, I know you have cared for Jillian for over 20 years; feelings grow from feelings. It’s impossible to take back your love for Jillian immediately, but I want to remind you not to do anything foolish. This little lass Jane is a very sensitive person. If because of Jillian, she becomes heartbroken, you will be pushing your biological daughter away with your own hands.”

Granny Carter, afraid Gwendolyn Young would favor Jillian Carter who grew up by her side, spoke up to remind her.

”Mom, I know. I won’t wrong Jane. Even though she didn’t grow up by my side, this only makes me care for her more and feel guiltier.”

Gwendolyn Young nodded her head, knowing well that if the matter between Jillian Carter and Jane Sampson wasn’t handled properly, this biological daughter Jane might end up heartbroken.

”No favoritism. If something indeed happens, whoever is wrong, then pursue that person’s responsibility.” Father Carter thought of Jillian Carter’s thoughts about James Black and slightly furrowed his eyebrows, ”I’ll have James Carter keep an eye on Jillian.”
