CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1828: Chapter 1836: I’m Sorry

Mother Carter couldn’t believe it. For a child of just over ten years old, how strong must they be to adapt from living in their own house to relying on others?

But back then, when Mother Carter was pregnant with her daughter, she was determined to treat her daughter like a princess, ensuring her lifetime would be carefree and joyful.

”James, do you think your sister will blame us for not bringing her back sooner?” Mother Carter was also vaguely worried.

”Mom, she won’t. Jane is a very kind girl; in her heart, she carries a sun,” James Carter was convinced that Jane Sampson wouldn’t blame them.

Perhaps nearing home makes one shy. They hurried while coming, but upon reaching downstairs at the hotel, everyone’s steps suddenly became exceptionally heavy.

Jane Sampson’s room was on the 9th floor, right across from James Carter’s.

When James Carter led all the family to stand at Jane Sampson’s room door, they couldn’t help but take a deep breath, and only after did they raise their hand to gently press the doorbell.

”She’s been working hard filming, could she already be resting?” The moment the doorbell rang, Mother Carter worried, ”Were we too abrupt in coming tonight? Should we have come earlier tomorrow?”

”If she’s not studying the script, she might be playing a game.” Having known Jane Sampson for so long, James Carter understood her routine.

However, it’s also possible...

”Or she might be on a video call with her husband. Every day after filming, she always video calls her husband, no matter how late, making sure to say a few words,” James Carter remarked, ”She and her husband share a very good relationship.”

Just as James Carter finished speaking, Jane Sampson came out holding a mobile phone in one hand with a lollipop in her mouth. She was wearing a comfortable home outfit, her hair freshly dried and not yet neatly combed, messily draping over her shoulders.

As soon as she opened the door and saw them, Jane Sampson was momentarily stunned, quickly took the lollipop out of her mouth, and stammered slightly, asking, ”Mr. Carter, Uncle Carter, Teacher Yang, Grandpa Carter, Granny Carter, why did you all suddenly come?”

Having said that, Jane Sampson quickly stepped back to make room at the doorway, ”Please come in quickly.”

James Carter led the way and stepped inside, seeming to use the universal opening line, and somewhat inexplicably nervously asked Jane Sampson, ”Did you have dinner?”

”Yes, I did.” Jane Sampson nodded, casually picking up the purse placed on the sofa and putting it onto the next cabinet.

Turning to see everyone standing and looking at her, she was puzzled, ”Please, have a seat. I’ll boil some water for you.”

”No need.” James Carter dissuaded Jane Sampson from her bustling.

Jane Sampson scratched her head, walked over to the few people, and curiously asked, ”Didn’t Mr. Carter go home? Why rush back overnight?”

”We have something important to discuss with you,” James Carter was about to show Jane Sampson the paternity test on the mobile phone.

Having endured for a long time, Mother Carter couldn’t hold back; she walked up to Jane Sampson and stretched out her arms, tightly hugging Jane Sampson.

”Jane, my daughter~ Mother is sorry to you. Mother didn’t protect you well, and that’s why you left mother’s side at such a young age, enduring so many grievances.” Mother Carter’s tears were overwhelming, ”Don’t blame mother, mother truly didn’t know such a thing happened in the past.”

Mother Carter feared Jane Sampson might push her away, so she almost used all her strength to embrace this daughter.
