CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1830: Chapter 1838: Without Resentment

After recounting all the events of the past, everyone in the Carter Family quietly watched Jane Sampson.

Mother Carter couldn’t bear to let go of Jane Sampson’s hand.

She is her biological daughter, the daughter she lost for over 20 years.

If it weren’t for this son, James Carter, telling her, she wouldn’t know how much longer she would have missed this biological daughter.

Jane Sampson was lost in thought for a long, long time. She looked in shock at the familiar people in front of her, these seniors who have always been kind and friendly to her.

After a while, Jane Sampson hoarsely said, ”Uncle Carter, Teacher Yang, I know you are very kind to me, and I know you care about me. Don’t worry, I’m not that fragile; I’m actually very strong.”

Her voice choked, ”So, you don’t have to pretend to be my daddy and mommy to comfort me, really, I’m really strong.”

Mother Carter struggled to hold back her tears, which fell once again.

”We’re not comforting you,” James Carter anxiously said, ”Jane, we truly are your family. This paternity test isn’t fake, it’s not to comfort you, you really are my sister.”

Seeing the disbelief in Jane Sampson’s eyes, James Carter continued, ”Jane, I know you are very strong and brave, so I never thought of making something up to comfort you, because fabrications might comfort you for a while, but the damage they’ll cause later will be even greater. We can’t do such a thing.”

Father Carter and Old Sir Carter, these big men, felt an intense bitterness in their hearts.

If she weren’t truly afraid that all of this was like a fragile bubble, she wouldn’t be so cautious, testing them again and again.

”Jane, do you blame us for not discovering sooner? Do you resent us for not bringing you home earlier?” Father Carter worried about the child’s resistance in her heart towards them, also fearing that she harbors resentment towards them.

”No.” Jane Sampson shook her head without hesitation, ”I’ve never blamed my daddy and mommy because what happened in the past was an unfortunate accident; they didn’t choose to abandon me. They just didn’t know I wasn’t by their side.”

Even though Jane Sampson had once been mocked for being a child without daddy or mommy, she never harbored resentment.

Because she knew that her daddy and mommy didn’t abandon her.

She wasn’t left unwanted by the roadside and brought home by the Sampson Family; she just, like other children, ended up with the wrong parents.

”I’ve never blamed my biological parents, I’ve always been waiting for the day when, like the Sampson Family, they realize that the daughter by their side isn’t me, and then they’ll come looking for me.” This was the dream Jane Sampson held in her heart for two lifetimes.

She feared that her biological daddy and mommy wouldn’t find her, so she thought that as long as she stood high enough for more people to see her, then her searching daddy and mommy would surely find her.

”Child, I’m sorry, mother is sorry, I just realized, I just found out you are my daughter.” Mother Carter released Jane Sampson, raised a hand, and tenderly wiped the tears from the corner of Jane Sampson’s eyes.

When she spoke, her voice was always restrained, the tears fell one by one but without making a sound.

Jane Sampson had always been suppressing her emotions.

But it was this restraint that made the Carter Family even more heartbroken as they watched.
