CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1699: Chapter 1707 Miscarried

Jane Sampson finally came to her senses, murmured a sound, and hurriedly ran out. As soon as she saw the familiar phone number, her body jolted suddenly.

The caller ID was actually grandma.

Who dared to touch grandma’s mobile phone?

Carrying this anger, Jane Sampson answered the call with a cold voice that held almost no warmth, ”Hello.”

”Jane, I am...” Father Sampson wanted to say he was daddy, but the words changed at the last moment, ”I am Bright Sampton’s dad.”

”Mr. Sampton, you are using grandma’s mobile phone to call me, what is it?” Jane Sampson suppressed the anger in her heart.

”I couldn’t reach your mobile phone with the calls from in the house, so I had no choice but to use your grandma’s mobile phone to make this call to you,” Father Sampson apologized, ”I’m sorry.”

Jane Sampson didn’t respond because, for her, this apology meant nothing.

Just now, her heart leaped suddenly, and she even felt as if grandma was still there.

”Jane, over this period, I’ve thought a lot and finally realized what your grandparents have been right about all these years. All along, it was I who had it wrong, and I did wrong. Jane, I’m sorry, you grew up in the Sampton Family, yet I didn’t give you the love and care I should have. It made you unhappy in this home.”

Father Sampson sighed softly, ”Your grandma was right, I’m basically not cut out for business. Without the Black Family backing the Sampton Clan, we have been declining every day. The day before yesterday, I sold the company, and the money from the sale will be used for future retirement funds. In the future, I won’t think about other things anymore.”

”Sold?” Jane Sampson’s voice rose slightly, she was somewhat shocked and found it hard to believe.

Considering Father Sampson’s character, could he actually bear to sell the company?

And sold it with such a calm mindset?

”Yes, sold it, retained most of the employees’ jobs, and secured my retirement money. Now, without the company, I actually feel relieved,” Father Sampson said, ”By the way, Julie fell accidentally in the hotel this morning and had a miscarriage. It’s perhaps better that the child is gone, because now she won’t entertain those unrealistic thoughts anymore. The Chip Family isn’t someone our Sampton Family can dare to climb up to.”

”I called specifically to say this delayed apology to you; I don’t expect forgiveness. I just hope you and James Black live well in the days ahead, take good care of yourself. It’s cold today, remember to dress warmly when you go out. That’s all, I’ll hang up now.”

There wasn’t any goodbye or further niceties, Father Sampson just gently ended the call.

Jane Sampson stood there, gripping the mobile phone firmly.

It’s cold, remember to wear something warm when you go out.

This sentence should have come from a father’s care. Since she lost it, this waiting and longing lasted more than a decade.

It’s late, it’s indeed late. These more than ten years, she had long since lost the expectation.

Her eyes had a hint of redness.

Inside the kitchen, Mair Williams suddenly swore, then grabbed her mobile phone and rushed out of the kitchen to find Jane Sampson.

”Julie Sampson miscarried and is hospitalized! Check twitter quickly.” Mair Williams’s expression was incredibly shocked, ”Someone on twitter revealed that Julie Sampson accidentally fell and miscarried in the hotel, but others are saying it wasn’t an accident. They claim it was the hotel staff who pushed her, and the staff did it for money paid by the Chip Family. Everyone is saying the Chip Family feared Julie Sampson would question them and have the child to blackmail them.”
