CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1679: Chapter 1687 So Obvious

While changing the pen refill, he suddenly thought of Jane Sampson.

He looked up and happened to meet Jane Sampson’s gaze.

She didn’t know how long she’d been staring at him.

”What’s up?” James Black put the pen on the table, ”Do you want to go to the bedroom and wait for me?”

Jane Sampson shook her head, ”No, I’ll sit here and not disturb you. You focus on your work; I don’t want to stay in the bedroom alone.”

Jane Sampson pointed at the pen he had just placed on the table, ”Quickly change the refill and keep writing, don’t mind me, just pretend I’m not here. I’ll be on my phone, won’t be bored.”

The flower fell, and Jane Sampson immediately lowered her head as if her interest in James Black wasn’t even comparable to her phone.

But in fact, she had inexplicably been dazing out staring at James Black for a long, long time.

James Black had been taking care of Jane Sampson in the hospital for nearly a week, so the documents piled up on his desk were innumerable. Unable to persuade Jane Sampson, James Black had to refocus his attention.

The busy time quickly flashed by.

When James Black suddenly realized it was very late and he should rest, he saw that Jane Sampson had fallen asleep leaning against the chair across from him.

To fall asleep sitting on such a chair in such a position showed just how tired she was.

However, she was so tired yet insisted on sitting here, refusing to leave.

James Black gently tidied up the documents, then walked quietly to Jane Sampson’s side and bent down to pick her up.

Even after James Black laid her on the bed, Jane Sampson showed no sign of waking up.

Actually, starting a few days ago, James Black clearly felt that Jane Sampson was especially clingy to him.

Compared to before, her attention seemed more frequently fixed on him.

The days she was sick in the hospital, every day the first thing she did when she opened her eyes was look towards her companion care bed, searching for him.

Sometimes, when she felt unwell, she absolutely had to be held by him.

Even occasionally at midnight, she would suddenly wake up, then sit up, look at him, call his name, and only lay back down after hearing his response.

Just like last night, holding him, she would inexplicably call his name repeatedly.

Her clinginess exceeded her usual personality.

”Good night.” James Black gently kissed the sleeping Jane Sampson’s forehead, lay down, and softly held her in his arms.

Knowing Jane Sampson was bored alone in the guard team, Mair Williams also came to the guard team the next day, claiming to visit her boyfriend Liam Woody, but in reality, she was there to accompany Jane Sampson.

Mair Williams arrived early when Jane Sampson was just eating dinner, and James Black was still tidying up the bowls and chopsticks in the kitchen when Liam Woody brought her over.

”Little Jane, little Jane.” Mair Williams entered and immediately gave Jane Sampson a big bear hug, ”I postponed two notices to come to the guard team to accompany you, not even Blackface got this treatment, quickly let me see your tears of gratitude.”

”No tears of gratitude, how about saliva?” Jane Sampson touched Mair Williams’ little hand and laughed, ”You’ve gained weight.”

”...” Mair Williams touched her own face, ”Is it that obvious?”

”Yes, you can tell, you had a bountiful year.” Jane Sampson nodded repeatedly.

”This year, I brought Blackface home, and the family knows I have a boyfriend now, so they finally stopped urging me to go on blind dates. So I’ve been in a good mood, eating well, drinking well, and sleeping well, and accidentally gained weight.” Mair Williams said.
