Chapter 1581: Chapter 1589: Kidney Supplement

”You laugh so easily.” Jane Sampson leaned her face closer to James Black, so he could help her wipe her tears.

After the tissue was dabbed twice on her face, she moved away, staring curiously at James Black’s expression for a while, and asked, ”Why aren’t you angry?”

James Black snorted, ”If I had to get angry over that, I’d have died of anger from you long ago.”

”Haha~” Jane Sampson inexplicably burst out laughing, and only when James Black glanced at her did she retract her radiant smile a bit and happily trotted to the kitchen to bring out her seaweed egg drop soup.

Then she sat down next to James Black, took the chopsticks he handed her, and started eating, eagerly saying to James Black, ”Drink more soup, it’ll nourish you. As the saying goes, you are what you eat; it’s good for your health.”

James Black paused his chopsticks slightly, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Jane Sampson with a half-smile, ”Are you sure you want me to nourish myself more?”

Seeing Jane Sampson nod heavily, James Black then asked, ”Do you know what part of the soft-shelled turtle is the most nourishing?”

Jane Sampson blinked her eyes, suddenly feeling a sense of doubt, thinking if she’d somehow put herself in a trap again.

Her original intention was that soft-shelled turtle soup was good for ”turtle eggs.”

But James Black’s words seemed to have a different meaning.

”It nourishes the kidneys.” James Black leisurely drank the soup in his bowl, served himself another bowl, and said slowly, ”Do you think I have kidney deficiency that needs nourishing? Since you’ve requested it, I won’t shy away. I’ll try to finish this whole pot of soup and hope that tonight, I won’t let you down.”

”!!!” Jane Sampson was utterly horrified.

”You’re not allowed to drink it!” She exclaimed and reached directly for James Black’s soup bowl, swiftly snatching it, ”Ah~ You’re not allowed to drink! Not a single sip! Spit out what you just drank!”

Jane Sampson threw herself towards James Black, grabbing his shoulder and shaking it vigorously, ”Spit it out! Hurry, spit it out!”

”Too late.” James Black smiled contentedly, pressing Jane Sampson back into the chair beside him, and said, ”Sit down and eat.”

”...” Jane Sampson sat there glaring at James Black, and seeing him take back the soup bowl and continue drinking, she got up, ran to the sofa, took her mobile phone, sat back, and started an online search.

What does soft-shelled turtle soup nourish?

Opening the top answer, Jane Sampson quickly browsed through it, noticing the content first introduced the nutritional and medicinal value of the turtle, then explained what the soup nourishes.

When Jane Sampson saw the words ”supplementing nutrition,” her expression became slightly dazed.

Did she indeed set a trap for herself?

”I say, can you stop drinking it?” Jane Sampson rested her chin in her hand with a face full of grievance as she looked at James Black.

”You specially made this nourishing soup for me; it can’t go to waste.” James Black replied, then placed a piece of meat into Jane Sampson’s bowl, ”Eat your meal, stop staring at me.”

She found it impossible to eat now.

Jane Sampson sighed and lowered her head to continue eating, occasionally stealing glances at James Black. Seeing him eat and drink so well, she felt even more unable to enjoy her meal.

”James Black, does it taste good?” Jane Sampson asked slowly.

”The taste isn’t bad.” James Black complimented Jane Sampson, ”Your culinary skills are excellent.”

Jane Sampson let out a huff, not particularly wanting to hear his compliments.
