CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1563: Chapter 1571 It’s Time to Feel Heartache

”That’s not our concern now. Since she’s not acting, are we looking for a new female lead now?” the Assistant Director asked.

”What’s the hurry? There’s still a lot to sort out.” The director was thinking about Fiery Fanny, the screenwriter.

After Jane Sampson and Lucy Brisk left the film crew, she went straight to the studio.

When she returned to the studio, Rock Bell was making a call with the director about the new script.

The director didn’t use the same dismissive words he had for Jane Sampson, but instead shifted the blame entirely onto the investors, saying he couldn’t do anything about the new script either.

When Rock Bell hung up, she was visibly fuming. She threw her mobile phone onto the tabletop and said, ”Who on earth is this female supporting role? Such a grand gesture, making the investors spend so much money on her.”

”I don’t know. I’ve been with the film crew for several days now, but the female supporting role hasn’t joined yet. Previously, the actress chosen by Fiery Fanny was replaced,” Jane Sampson shook her head.

Even Jane Sampson was eager to know who exactly this female supporting role was.

Changes at the snap of a finger, adding scenes just like that.

The film crew had barely started shooting when the new script was already delivered, likely because as soon as the female supporting role was replaced, the investors found an outside screenwriter to rewrite the script.

All just to add scenes for the female supporting role, so Jane Sampson could get the new script today.

”Then you can take a couple of days off in the house while the studio deals with this matter. Either act according to the original script or terminate the contract. My people, Rock Bell’s, won’t be used as extras,” Rock Bell patted Jane Sampson’s shoulder. ”Anyway, you’re not doing it for the film remuneration, so there’s no need to be anxious. You go ahead and head home.”

Jane Sampson smiled and nodded.

She stood up, suddenly remembered something else, turned her head to the still-fuming Rock Bell, and said, ”Sister Tin, Happy Valentine’s Day. On such a big holiday, take it easy, your brother-in-law would feel worried if he knew.”

Rock Bell burst out laughing, ”Teasing me, are you? Looking for a beating?”

After speaking, Rock Bell glanced at the desk calendar, clapped her forehead, and said, ”So busy I almost fainted, didn’t realize today is Valentine’s Day. Lucky for you. Are you going to the guardian team to find James Black or heading directly home?”

”Going to give him a big surprise at the guard team,” Jane Sampson smiled.

”What gift did you prepare?” Rock Bell gossiped a bit, genuinely curious about how James Black and Jane Sampson would spend Valentine’s Day.

”It’s a secret,” Jane Sampson playfully blinked and waved goodbye to Rock Bell before leaving her office.

Without work, Jane Sampson felt carefree. She first asked the driver to take her home for a bit, tidied up some stuff, then drove off herself.

Passing by the flower shop, Jane Sampson requested a bright and dripping bouquet of red roses, a small bunch, just eleven blooms.

Compared to what James Black gifted her, it was indeed somewhat modest.

Jane Sampson’s car arrived at the guardian team’s doorway at 11:45.

The guard team’s members recognized Jane Sampson’s car, and upon seeing Jane inside the car, the on-duty member’s face couldn’t hide his excitement.

”Sister-in-law, you’re here!” The team member called out warmly to Jane Sampson, ”Sister-in-law, are you here to see the Chief?”
