CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1562: Chapter 1570 As Far As I Know

”I know you’re not in it for the money, but sometimes practical issues are just like this—without money, it’s difficult to take even a single step. Money is needed everywhere in film production. We have to put our utmost effort into fulfilling the investor’s demands. Now, we’re just adding scenes for the female supporting role, but we haven’t cut your scenes. This doesn’t really affect you, right?” The director tried hard to persuade Jane Sampson.

Not to mention Jane Sampson’s impressive acting skills, these past few days together have also shown the director just how dedicated Jane is during work.

The most crucial part is that Jane Sampson is extremely popular on the internet. She herself is a self-proclaimed popularity queen.

Jane Sampson playing the female lead in this drama will be hugely beneficial during the post-production publicity. It can certainly boost the drama’s popularity. Therefore, the director actually highly values Jane Sampson as the female lead.

That’s also why, at first, when Fiery Fanny suggested having Jane Sampson as the female lead, the director immediately agreed.

Moreover, the female lead’s scenes in the new script have not been cut, which is a result of the director’s efforts.

In the film crew’s filming work, the director can be considered as someone whose words carry a lot of weight. However, in the entire TV series production process, the director is really not like the person sitting on the throne.

If the General Administration over there is the Retired Emperor, then the investor would definitely be Your Majesty.

”Director, does this affect me or not? From your professional viewpoint, do you truly think it doesn’t affect me?” Jane Sampson shook her head lightly and said, ”Director, besides, the new script wasn’t agreed upon by Scriptwriter Fiery Fanny. To my knowledge, the production company has signed a very detailed content change agreement with Fiery Fanny. I heard from Fiery Fanny that the contract clearly states that Fiery Fanny must personally write the script, and the film crew cannot make any changes to the script during the shooting process without the original author’s consent.”

After saying this, Jane Sampson did not elaborate further, ”I’ll return to the studio first. Whenever the film crew decides to continue using the original new script, notify me to come back.”

Having finished speaking, Jane Sampson turned and left.

The director stood there, opened his mouth trying to call after Jane Sampson, but ultimately closed his mouth.

No one’s a fool; it’s blatantly obvious how the changes in the new script will affect the female lead.

Earlier, when speaking to the male lead about the drama, the director also noticed that the male lead seemed absent-minded. He was also dissatisfied with the new script; he just hasn’t voiced it yet, enduring for now.

Gazing at the now distant Jane Sampson, the director frustratedly threw the new script in his hand onto the ground and stomped on it twice.

The Assistant Director came over and called out to the director, ”What’s got you so upset?”

”With this new script out, the female lead won’t act, the male lead is also dissatisfied—why wouldn’t I be upset? How am I supposed to shoot this?” The director slumped into the next rattan chair, ”Let’s not even talk about them; when I first received this new script, I almost wanted to strike!”

”If she doesn’t act, then she doesn’t. There are plenty of people vying for the female lead role. If she says she’s not acting, then she isn’t, and she’d be the one breaching the contract,” the Assistant Director was completely indifferent, ”I only care if there’s money.”

”She has her own studio and is backed by a big tree. The contract back then spelled everything out clearly. If it comes to a lawsuit, they have the industry’s best lawyer team. Do you really think we have any chance of winning?” The director scoffed, pondering silently how much benefit the Assistant Director might have received from the investors to be able to speak so complacently.
