CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 248: Chapter 256: Acting Spoiled is Useless

Besides, her voice was naturally tender and soft, with a hint of whining in the tail sound, slightly rising in pitch, causing James Black on the other end of the phone to be taken aback.

”Jane Sampson,” James Black called out her full name once more, then suddenly laughed, ”In my entire WhatsApp, you’re the only friend, so no one else can see it.”

Right? Even Peter Gingery had been neatly blocked by him just because of a name.

There was indeed only one friend in James Black’s WhatsApp; that was the glaringly prominent avatar of James Carter’s wife.

”Just me?” Jane Sampson didn’t quite believe it, ”In the future, you’re still going to add others, anyway you’ve changed your avatar~”

Jane Sampson muttered softly, her voice delicate and hushed, which made James Black involuntarily stop in his tracks.

Her voice seemed to echo gently in his ears; when the wind brushed against his face, it was as if he was under the illusion of her whispering lowly right beside him.

James Black’s voice was deep, tinged with an almost imperceptible chuckle.

Jane Sampson heard James Black suddenly tell her, ”Jane Sampson, being coquettish won’t work.”

James Black thought that his temperament was such that neither soft nor hard approaches would sway him, so Jane Sampson’s coquettishness wouldn’t deter him from using her playful and cute picture as his profile photo.

”Who’s being coquettish?” Jane Sampson immediately furrowed her brows, her voice modulating strongly as she gave a resounding rebuttal, ”I wouldn’t act coquettish with you, Chief Black, even if I did with anyone!”

”Whom else would you act coquettish with?” James Black blurted out in retort.

”Acting coquettish with the Great General would be more effective than with you!” Jane Sampson huffed. If he wouldn’t change it, so be it. Sooner or later, she would get her hands on his phone.

When that day came, she would definitely delete all the photos she left in James Black’s phone and change his WhatsApp avatar to that of a silly-looking Great General.

After the call, Jane Sampson hung up on James Black huffily, barely restraining herself from blocking his number again.

After the droning tone that signified Jane Sampson had hung up, James Black then continued his walk back.

This must have been the first time in James Black’s life that he walked while playing with his phone, staring at WhatsApp, but he wasn’t looking through Jane’s past moments; instead, he kept staring at her nickname.

No matter how much time passed, James Black was certain that he could never get used to and accept Jane Sampson’s distasteful nickname.

When he got back downstairs, James Black thought long and hard, then finally took action and added a note for Jane Sampson.

After he finished editing the note, watching the nickname ’James Carter’s wife’ finally vanish from his friends list, replaced by the three words ’wife,’ James Black instantly felt in a much better mood.

From then on, he would no longer see those seven glaring words.

Newly registered WhatsApp accounts receive friend requests that are found using mobile numbers. James Black scrolled through the friend requests, then one by one, he rejected them all.

Having Jane Sampson alone on WhatsApp was enough; this way, he could see any new Moments posts she shared at any time without missing any.

James Black thought for sure that Jane Sampson, who hung up on him in a fit of anger, would vent about him in her Moments.

However, as he was getting ready to sleep, James Black still hadn’t seen any new Moments posts from Jane Sampson.

James Black raised an eyebrow, feeling somewhat surprised; such quietness from Jane Sampson was unlike her.

But James Black, newly acquainted with WhatsApp, didn’t know that Moments had a feature where certain posts could be hidden from specific people.
