CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 203: Chapter 211: Don’t Trouble Me

However, when it comes to forcing submission, that’s something Old Master Black would do to the boys; if it were a girl, he almost wouldn’t care. Old Master Black believes a girl enjoys her time at home for only a short while, so if something makes her happy, he’d let her be happy.

”There’s no need for you to worry,” James Black responded coolly.

”Eh, with such coldness and heartlessness, is it that you no longer need me to take extra care of your wife? You sure? My company recently has quite a few good scripts, you know,” Alexander Forest said, comfortably crossing his legs as he waited for James Black to remove his private phone number from the blacklist and have a good chat about potentially reserving a role for his wife.

Unexpectedly, James Black scoffed on the phone and threw at him, ”Don’t busy yourself with my matters, that’s all, hanging up now.”

Then, as soon as he said it, James Black hung up the phone, leaving Alexander Forest shocked and out of sorts for several seconds.

Alexander Forest found it very odd; as a single man, he was increasingly unable to understand the minds of married men. Was it possible he needed to find a partner and get married to keep up with the times?Since James Black didn’t want Alexander Forest meddling, the latter didn’t take the initiative to contact Jane Sampson’s agent. Not understanding what James Black was thinking, Alexander Forest simply decided to do nothing.

After all, they were childhood friends, old buddies for several decades—if James Black truly needed his help, he would surely reach out to him actively.

Because, at the end of the day, neither of them was the type to unbearably cling to pride.

That day, Jane Sampson had a comfortable time on set. Until past nine o’clock in the evening, neither William Rivers nor Sophie Young’s companies had taken any PR measures. However, right at 9 p.m., the advertisement contract that Sophie Young and William Rivers had previously signed was cancelled. The food corporation’s official Twitter released a termination statement, accusing Sophie Young and William Rivers of pretending to be lovers, which did not meet the company’s need for a positive and upward-looking couple, and thus, the advertising contract was voided.

Once the food corporation’s official Twitter posted this news, it was like pouring a bucket of water into a sizzling pot of oil—the internet realm exploded with noisy fervor.

It was precisely because of an incident on the show, where William Rivers intentionally revealed that he would be endorsing a beverage advertisement with Sophie Young, which led to Jane Sampson taking advantage of the situation and getting eliminated, that Jane became the target of attacks by fans of Sophie Young and William Rivers. Now, talk about a slap in the face—the food corporation was terminating their contract with Sophie Young and William Rivers.

Jane Sampson received a call from Peter Gingery, seeking credit, while she was returning to the hotel from the film and TV base.

”Jane, how is it? I’m a great brother, right? Strike while the enemy is sick, go for the kill! The senior executive of that food corporation is the father of a classmate of mine, and I got my classmate to convince his father to change the spokespersons for their advertisement,” Peter Gingery boasted, clearly without Jane in front of him; otherwise, he’d probably have a tail wagging high up to heaven.

”Then do you know what’s the deal with those marketing accounts?” Jane asked.

”I don’t get it, I don’t get it. I have no clue who William Rivers and Sophie Young offended to have someone pull off such a big move. I heard those marketing accounts belong to some studio, whose boss seems quite formidable, specializing in digging up dirt on stars and artists,” Peter Gingery laughed. ”Why do you care so much? As long as there’s someone cleaning up after them since they’ve offended people, that’s on them. It just so happens to help you solve your troubles as well.”
