CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 227: Chapter 235: Villain

”Wait here, and don’t wander off,” James Black’s eyes scanned the surroundings before settling on one direction for a few seconds. He then looked back at Jane Sampson, who was still sitting on the sandy land, ”Stand up yourself.”

The sand was soft, and falling on it didn’t hurt at all.

Jane Sampson was merely startled by James Black’s action. Hearing his instructions, she uttered ”Oh,” and clumsily stood up, using both her hands and feet.

Once she was steady on her feet, James Black, without a word, turned and walked away toward the direction he had just been looking at for a few seconds.

Jane Sampson touched the tip of her nose.

Hmph!

Villain!

Jane Sampson took out her mobile phone and snapped a photo of James Black’s retreating figure. She didn’t bother to Photoshop it—let him look ugly, and she immediately posted it to Moments.

Unintentionally, it seems I’ve ticked someone off again. Someone’s in a huff, their aura has expanded to 20,000 kilometers. [Distressed, distressed, distressed]

Following the text was a series of distressed expressions.

Jane watched the direction James had gone, guessing he was off to sort out the desert motorcycle. During his absence, she took plenty of photos with her phone. After getting enough shots and still not seeing James return, she walked over to find him.

The sand on the sandy land was soft—stepping on it, her whole foot could sink in, and lifting it up, her shoes were filled with sand. It was a hot afternoon and the sand was somewhat scorching. Jane thought she was lucky that James had rented shoe covers before the mountain climb, or else she would have suffered.

The distance didn’t seem far, but it took Jane a solid seven to eight minutes to reach James. He frowned when he saw her coming, and Jane thought he might scold her for not being obedient, but he didn’t say another word.

”This must be your wife, right?” A rough-looking large man glanced at Jane and smiled, ”Hello, I’m one of James Black’s former teammates. I retired and came back home to start a desert motorcycle business.”

”Hello, hello,” Jane nodded repetitively, responding to the greeting. Out of courtesy, she also took off her sunglasses.

”No need, the wind and sand here are fierce. You’re not used to it yet—keep your glasses on, or the sand will blow into your eyes.” Jane’s proactive gesture to remove her glasses significantly improved the large man’s first impression of her.

James Black and his identity were worlds apart; he was now the Chief, whereas the other man was just a civilian. Even when serving in the guard team, he had only attained the rank of a squad leader.

As James Black’s wife, Jane theoretically had the right to snub anyone and carry herself with arrogance.

It would have been respect enough for her to promptly respond and nod slightly to his greeting. Unexpectedly, even though she knew about the powerful wind and sand, she still took off her sunglasses to give him a smile.

Although she hadn’t removed her mask, he could tell from her eyes that she was smiling at him.

”Here is the key, Chief Black. Take it. Same as always, you can drive around wherever you like, but don’t go too far this time. Your wife is here, don’t drive as fast as last time. She’s a lady and might not be able to handle your speed.”

James Black grunted in acknowledgment, then quickly swung himself onto the motorcycle, turning to extend his hand to Jane, ”Come on, I’ll take you around for a look.”

The desert motorcycle was different from the ones Jane had seen elsewhere. Here, the bikes were rugged, and the tires exceptionally wide, looking very stable.
