I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 797: Chapter 796: The Little Buns Holding Hands

”Grandma, we want to buy candy~” Luo Yiqian looked up at Mrs. Qin.

Mrs. Qin lowered her head and saw those big, wet eyes filled with longing. After some thought, she said, ”Let your uncle take you to buy it. One piece each, no more!”

”Okay, Grandma~” Luo Yiqian took the money from Mrs. Qin, just enough for three pieces of candy, and happily went to find Luo Xuping.

Luo Xuping was doing homework inside the house, with Cheng Tianji by his side. Since that issue was resolved, Cheng Tianji had once again devoted himself fully to his studies.

”Uncle, can you take us to buy candy~” Luo Yiqian walked over, clutching a few small bills in her little hand.

Luo Xuping was used to this, nodding as he said, ”Where’s Little Cao Mei?”

”Cao Mei is at home.” After saying that, Luo Yiqian reached out to pull Luo Xuping’s hand, ”Let’s go, Uncle. We want candy~”

As she turned, Luo Yiqian’s small pigtails swung, charming Cheng Tianji nearby.

”Thank goodness, she’s also my sister!” Cheng Tianji hurriedly reached out to pat Luo Yiqian’s head, receiving a wet, puzzled look from her.

”I can’t take it; my heart is going to melt...” Cheng Tianji clutched his chest. No wonder Ping’an adores these two little ones to no end.

After writing homework for a while, Cheng Tianji also wanted to join in and stretch his legs, so he got up and followed along, only to see a big and small person whispering at the archway.

”Uncle, Cao Mei wants to go too. Can we take Cao Mei along?” Luo Yiqian asked softly.

When her brother wasn’t around, she and Luo Yixuan weren’t allowed to be together. Her little head couldn’t understand why this was the case.

Luo Xuping scratched his head. Everyone at home said the two kids shouldn’t have physical contact, but if he held one in each hand, wouldn’t that solve the problem?

Little Mango was pleading so carefully that he couldn’t bear to refuse. As long as there was no physical contact, it should be fine!

With this thought, Luo Xuping nodded, ”Okay, but you and Little Cao Mei each have to hold one of my hands and listen to Uncle!”

Luo Yiqian’s beautiful big eyes lit up as she nodded happily, turning around to run inside while shouting, ”Cao Mei~ Cao Mei~”

However, she seemed to realize something, and hurriedly covered her small mouth with a panic-stricken face, even slowing her footsteps. This little one’s demeanor was so amusing it made people want to burst into laughter.

Luo Xuping followed closely behind, bringing Little Cao Mei out. Just as they were about to leave, he heard Mrs. Qin’s voice.

”Ping’an, only buy one piece each; don’t buy too many; it’s bad for their teeth! Wait a moment and buy some soy milk tofu for me.” Mrs. Qin’s voice grew nearer.

Luo Xuping stopped there waiting, his eyes looking toward the archway, not noticing the actions of the two little ones behind him.

”Cao Mei, the teacher said we should hold hands when we go out to be safe. Let’s hold hands,” Luo Yiqian said.

Luo Yixuan tilted her head in thought, ”But Mom and Dad don’t allow us to hold hands, neither do Grandpa, Grandma, nor Uncle.”

Luo Yiqian pouted, ”Why is that? At the kindergarten, the teacher tells us to hold hands.”

Luo Yixuan nodded, ”Our teacher says the same, so let’s hold hands.”

The two little ones happily decided this. The prospect of holding hands with their sister made them a bit nervous and excited because they had never touched each other.

Mrs. Qin, who had just walked through the archway, was muttering something, and when she looked up, she saw what the two little ones were doing, and she was immediately terrified.

Mrs. Qin dashed forward in a flash, grabbed one child in each hand, and immediately separated them!

”What’s going on! Didn’t I say you’re not allowed to hold hands or touch each other! Is it going in one ear and out the other! Is it! Is it!”

Mrs. Qin initially yelled, then gave each one a hard slap on their little bottoms.

Such a fierce reaction from Mrs. Qin not only stunned the two small buns but also left Luo Xuping dumbfounded.

The two small buns had never seen Grandma so terrifying, they were so frightened they didn’t dare make a sound. Even though the slaps didn’t hurt much, they couldn’t help but burst into tears!

Their cries were so loud, Luo Xuping came to his senses. His shock hadn’t yet dissipated; he hurried up to wipe the tears from the children’s faces, only for Mrs. Qin to hit him hard on the back.

Mrs. Qin hadn’t hit him in ages. Luo Xuping stood there stupidly, not knowing why his mother suddenly flew into such a rage!

Getting hit out of nowhere and seeing his two nieces so aggrieved, he frowned.

”Mom, what’s going on? Can’t you talk properly? Why are you hitting them like this?” Luo Xuping retorted to Mrs. Qin for the first time.

With Mrs. Qin’s usual hot temper, she would have already twisted his ear and scolded him by now, but she didn’t respond this time. When he turned his head, he saw her wiping away tears.

This threw Luo Xuping into a panic. Ever since the big incident with his sister, he hadn’t seen Mrs. Qin shed tears. What on earth was going on?

Mrs. Qin’s tears wouldn’t stop despite her attempts to wipe them away. She didn’t want to cry, but seeing her two granddaughters looking so wronged, and thinking about their situation, got her heart aching so much she couldn’t control the tears.

Mrs. Qin had a sharp tongue but a soft heart, and it was the first time she had hit her little granddaughters. Her heart was filled with anger and regret, but she just wanted to scare them this once, so that in case something unseen happens, they wouldn’t dare touch each other.

Little Tian’er had told her about the girls’ situation, but she didn’t fully understand it. She just knew they shouldn’t have any contact, especially if they had a bump or bruise. Any contact could be fatal, and this matter couldn’t be spoken out, especially with people around with bad intentions.

So Mrs. Qin simply wouldn’t let the two kids have any physical contact. If anything were to happen... just the thought of it made her heart pound in fear.

”Gao Ma, take Cao Mei to that courtyard for a while. Little Mo, you stay here with Little Mango.” Mrs. Qin wiped her tears, spoke with a stern face.

The two maids had seen the commotion from the start, but they didn’t pry into the family’s matters. They just did what they were told, which was why they had been employed here for so long.

Gao Ma and Sister-in-law Mo put down their work and each took one of the little ones to different courtyards. Mrs. Qin didn’t even glance at Luo Xuping before turning and entering the house.

Luo Xuping, being very smart, understood from the situation and his sister’s previous warnings that they were hiding something from him. They used to tell him the two children would harm each other, but he didn’t know how.

”Mom, what exactly is going on with those two?” Luo Xuping asked.
