I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 780: Chapter 779: Obsessed

Beisitian glanced at the man named Tong Anshan. She noticed that he didn’t like Desan much because when Dean Zhang introduced him, Tong Anshan snorted through his nose. She didn’t expect his questions to be so pointed right from the start.

Desan glanced at him, showing no hesitation, which made Beisitian secretly amused. She listened as he said, ”Didn’t they say the diagnosis wasn’t brain stimulation? Are you saying Dean Zhang lied to me?”

Tong Anshan didn’t respond. The conclusion indeed wasn’t brain stimulation, but there wasn’t a better explanation currently. This person had been like this for a while, so what could the reason be?

Tan Yujun nodded and said, ”Indeed, this diagnosis was reached after several examinations. There should be no issue in theory.”

Sun Xuemin snorted coldly, ”Who said there wouldn’t be an issue? The diagnosis was made by a bunch of ordinary people using instruments. Is it really that accurate?”

Tan Yujun glanced at her. This woman had always been at odds with her, chiming in whenever she spoke. It was quite annoying.

Tan Yujun didn’t want to argue in such a place because it would affect her mood and make her look foolish in front of others.

Tong Anshan said, ”Third Doctor thinks the diagnosis is correct. Since it’s not brain stimulation, what do you think the cause is?”

It seemed that Tong Anshan wouldn’t give up until Desan provided an explanation.

Of course, Tong Anshan wouldn’t let it go. He only wanted to collaborate with truly talented people and absolutely didn’t want to work with mediocre doctors, as it would affect his reputation and performance.

Moreover, he couldn’t stand Desan. Those eyes seemed to be scheming something, making people uncomfortable.

Beisitian quietly approached Desan. To be honest, she had a rough idea of this person’s condition, though it was still unclear and not fully thought through.

So if she was asked to speak now, it would be difficult to answer.

Desan looked at Beisitian for a moment, then said, ”This person’s condition is actually quite simple. Isn’t this just an obsession!”

Everyone was taken aback, even Beisitian was surprised.

Obsession?

No matter who among the five, whether they got along or not, couldn’t help but laugh upon hearing this. However, Beisitian was in deep thought.

Obsession, this term was quite ordinary, but Beisitian felt it was the most appropriate to describe this patient’s condition.

This wasn’t autism, nor was it stimulation, and definitely wasn’t a brain injury. If described as obsession, it was indeed more fitting!

But what kind of obsession could be so severe that it makes someone forget even to eat or drink, and become completely absorbed?

Beisitian seemed to recall seeing a similar case where someone was so immersed in a matter that they were nearly considered foolish.

This case was very similar to the current situation, but the difference was that the person’s obsession was short-lived and they snapped out of it within a few days.

However, the current person was reportedly like this for at least half a month, with no sign of waking up.

Beisitian glanced at Desan with some surprise, but Desan’s eyes darted around, seemingly pondering how to deal with these people’s tricky questions next.

”Obsession? Brother, what kind of obsession can turn someone into this?” Tong Anshan started laughing after he reacted.

Sun Xuemin also chuckled coldly. Zhong Jiren stood at a distance, still silent. Although Tan Yujun didn’t show disdain or amusement, her expression was indifferent and dismissive.

However, it was the last man, around forty-five or forty-six, named Yang Jingsong, who spoke up, ”With that reminder, the more I look, the more it seems like an obsession.”

Obsession isn’t a disease but an extreme fascination with certain things, to the point of being completely absorbed.

Obsession varies in depth, meaning the degree of fascination with something can be shallow or deep. A shallow obsession involves focusing on studying and pondering over a matter for a period, ignoring many other important things.

A deeper level of obsession might even make one forget to eat, focusing intensely and undisturbed on their matter, fully immersing themselves in their world, indifferent to everything else.

If this person is truly obsessed, what is it that matters so much to him?

No matter what it is, it’s certain that this thing is related to his missing six years.

Although Beisitian didn’t have more data, she had basically confirmed that this person was indeed obsessed, rather than suffering from some mysterious ailment.

However, if it was an obsession, it’s certainly perplexing. It must be that whatever the matter is, it holds more significance to him than anything else!

Though Beisitian usually isn’t a person with much curiosity, this matter sparked her interest. Due to her keen perception of spirit, she felt this person was likely a Mystic Doctor!

What could it be that captures a Mystic Doctor’s fascination to such an extent?

Those inexplicably missing doctors and Tian Family members, did they go to the same place as this person? Would they end up like him?

A string of questions flashed through Beisitian’s mind.

Desan, confidently, said, ”Don’t be so quick to dismiss. Who says obsession can’t turn someone into this? Have you seen an obsession at its peak? You can’t rely solely on subjective assumptions to judge something!”

Tong Anshan sneered, ”An obsession at its peak, have you seen it?”

Desan chuckled, extended his hand towards the patient’s direction, and said, ”Isn’t this one?”

Tong Anshan frowned, ”Your claim is baseless and somewhat specious. How can we continue to cooperate out of hatred?”

Desan raised an eyebrow, ”Your argument might have a basis, but since theirs isn’t about brain stimulation to begin with, what’s the point of their basis?”

Tong Anshan’s face turned a bit unpleasant from what he said. This person wasn’t that skilled, but his verbal ability was quite strong!

Desan’s verbal onslaught rendered Tong Anshan speechless. No matter what, at least Tong Anshan currently couldn’t say anything further.

Beisitian pondered, for most, obsession isn’t an ailment, but at this person’s level, it indeed qualifies as one.

How should this kind of case be treated?

If they could understand the reason behind this person’s condition, then things would become straightforward, bringing it back to the starting point.

Their visit this time was to gather useful information from this person, ideally to learn where their base is for enforcement.

Yang Jingsong walked up to the bedside and took a closer look at the patient, nodded, and said, ”I agree with the brother’s opinion. This person is likely obsessed, but with what exactly?”

Seeing someone agreeing with him, Desan laughed cheerfully and said, ”Who can say? Either wait for him to wake up or find their nest.”
