I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 775: Chapter 774: Desan

Beisitian contacted Du Kai Bo, not to have him come over to help, but to ask him to speak to the hospital here. Although Zhoukou Tan Hospital is not a military hospital, it is an affiliated hospital to the military region, and Du Kai Bo’s words should have some influence.

Du Kai Bo readily agreed when he received the call. His words have a strong effect in such local affiliated hospitals, and he thought Beisitian didn’t ask to go in directly because she is used to being low-key.

The matter of reputable doctors in Lianyang City collectively ’taking leave’ has not spread yet; even the local area is unaware of what’s happening, let alone elsewhere.

After hanging up the phone, Du Kai Bo made a call to the hospital leadership team, and Beisitian quickly found the staff she needed.

When Beisitian returned to Zhoukou Tan Hospital, the attitude of the person receiving her made a complete 180-degree shift.

Previously, it was far from enthusiastic, even somewhat indifferent. Now it’s so enthusiastic that Beisitian and her two companions found it overwhelming.

This barrage of solicitous attention left Beisitian and the others speechless. The leadership team treated Beisitian and Wei Zhongxun like high officials from the capital, leaving them puzzled as to what Du Kai Bo had told them.

Beisitian didn’t use her doctor’s identity directly because of Luo Xudong’s warning. The Tian Family has been out of contact and there’s still no news, Cheng Tianji’s condition is critical, and if anything happens to her, Cheng Tianji might not survive.

The doctor isn’t exactly well-known; he was hired by Wei Zhongxun with money, primarily to feed Cheng Tianji the life-saving talismanic water.

The hired doctor’s name is Desan; his specific surname is unknown, as that’s how he introduced himself.

Desan is in his forties, slightly corpulent, with a layer of flesh on his chin, a bulging belly tied with a belt, a clean-shaven face, and an appearance somewhat large.

In fact, he doesn’t look very obese overall, but the flesh on his cheeks, chin, and belly makes him appear somewhat chubby.

Desan noticed the hospital staff were very courteous to the man and woman, causing him to unintentionally straighten his back with a hint of pride as he was led to the intensive care unit by the leadership team.

”Alright, I need to treat the patient now. You all can go about your own work,” Desan waved his hand with a leadership-worthy demeanor.

The leadership team at Zhoukou Tan Hospital collectively twitched their mouths and looked at Beisitian. The doctor you brought is quite ’impressive’!

Beisitian smiled serenely, completely ignoring the expressions of those people, and politely said to Desan, ”Everything is in your hands, Third Doctor.”

Third Doctor...

Wei Zhongxun and Luo Xuping exchanged a glance; the title given was rather casual.

Desan grinned, ”No problem, no problem.”

The leadership team, seeing Beisitian listening to Desan, couldn’t stay there any longer, so they left behind two nurses and a doctor to accompany them.

The intensive care unit is not open for random entry, hence only Desan and Beisitian went in. There was a spray disinfecting device at the entrance, and going in and out costs quite a bit.

Wei Zhongxun watched Beisitian go inside and once again tried to contact Cheng Tianji’s parents, but he still couldn’t reach them. Lately, for some reason, the more urgent it becomes, the more these people seem to disappear, really making one want to swear.

Despite knowing this issue was likely complicated, Wei Zhongxun couldn’t help but worry when he couldn’t reach them.

Desan had already been instructed by Beisitian. Once inside, he took out the small bottle Beisitian previously gave him and began pouring it down Cheng Tianji’s throat.

Next to him, Beisitian reached out to massage Cheng Tianji’s neck to facilitate swallowing the talismanic water.

”Standard technique, very good!” Desan commented to Beisitian while pouring the potion.

Beisitian: ”...” Third Doctor, you are too deep into your role!

After one bottle of talismanic water was poured into Cheng Tianji, Desan took out another bottle of talismanic water, also given by Beisitian. This one was for treating external injuries.

Beisitian had been conditioning Cheng Tianji’s body for several years now. A body nourished by talismanic water has a recovery ability that’s not typical. Especially since Beisitian had been consistently enhancing his physical function in this aspect, this is why despite the severe impact, he could still maintain a breath of life.

Now with combined internal and external treatment, Cheng Tianji is surely going to make it through. Since the method to effectively treat him has been found, she can visit regularly.

After drinking the talismanic water, Desan and Beisitian naturally couldn’t avoid chatting and discussing things with the leadership team.

The leadership team discreetly aired their grievances, talking about the difficulties faced by Zhoukou Tan Hospital in Lianyang City, such as medical equipment not being advanced enough, doctors’ benefits not comparable to other hospitals leading to a lack of better medical resources, hoping the high officials from the capital could help resolve this.

Of course, Beisitian couldn’t promise anything and had to utter some political platitudes, saying they’d assess the overall situation in Lianyang City before discussing further action.

The leadership team’s response was within expectations; they just wanted these people to understand Zhoukou Tan Hospital’s difficulties. Nobody comes by and resolves issues instantly; efficiency isn’t that high these days.

Luo Xuping felt relieved seeing Beisitian take action, as Beisitian told him that Zhoukou Tan Hospital could handle the external injuries without worry.

”Weren’t they supposed to do surgery?” Luo Xuping asked.

Beisitian sighed, ”The surgery has already been done, but Cheng Tianji is too severely injured. Even though the surgery was successful, he hasn’t escaped danger yet.”

It took them four hours to get to Lianyang City and several more hours to find people; if they were to rely on emergency rescue, ten Cheng Tianjis would have been doomed.

Desan found it enjoyable working with Beisitian and the others and said to call him anytime for business before leaving.

Back at the hotel, Wei Zhongxun finally reached Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife, who had been going crazy from anxiety when their son hadn’t returned. Hearing this call, Mrs. Cheng fainted on the spot.

Wei Zhongxun was speechless; he wasn’t intentionally not speaking, he simply hadn’t had the chance yet. Listening to the chaos on the other end, once Cheng ZhenGuo regained control of the phone, he hurriedly explained that Beisitian was there too.

As expected, upon hearing that Beisitian was on their side, Cheng ZhenGuo immediately calmed down significantly, saying they would come over immediately before hanging up.

Despite being in the same province, the province is sizable, and Cheng ZhenGuo and his wife traveled overnight, reaching the hotel at around five in the morning.

Knowing their urgency, Wei Zhongxun was already waiting for them early and told them the general situation. Although they felt relieved, Mrs. Cheng was still frightened to tears, feeling both scared and angry.

Mrs. Cheng finally managed to control her emotions, and upon raising her eyes to see Beisitian, tears immediately started flowing again.

”Doctor Bei, please save my son again!”
