I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 765: Chapter 764: Apologizing in Person

Except for Tian Zhi, who was lost in thought, none of those present, including Wei Zhongxun, understood what Beisitian meant. However, there was no doubt that Beisitian already had ideas and strategies.

”What do you mean?” Qin Xinyu asked, looking puzzled.

”How many people do you have with you now?” Beisitian didn’t answer but asked in return.

Qin Xinyu thought about it briefly and said, ”Currently, there are about twenty people with me, from the line of my two cousins. Additionally, two collateral branches have conflicts with Qin Youwei. After he rose to power, these two branches chose to leave.”

”How is Qin Youwei’s reputation within the Qin Family now? Does everyone support him?”

Qin Xinyu immediately shook his head, ”Of course not, some clan members have to stay because they’ve lived with the Qin Family for generations and rely on it. Qin Youwei’s confidants include two collateral branches, and he doesn’t have full family support.”

The reason Qin Youwei succeeded this time was due to long-standing issues with subordinate families that weren’t properly resolved and only deepened over time. Coupled with Qin Xinyu’s decision, it caused a lot of backlash, which Qin Youwei used to force him to step down.

Qin Xinyu explained the current state of the Qin Family in detail. It’s a mid-tier family, and due to its long history, the collateral and main lines are intertwined, making its relationships far more complex than the Wei Family’s.

For instance, Qin Xinyu’s branch is the most orthodox, serving as the Qin Family’s inheritor. Despite having fewer members, it has many talented descendants, so there were no problems until Qin Xinyu’s grandfather began seeking the main branch, leading to family conflicts.

Qin Youwei’s branch was fairly direct-line in the past, but in the next generation, it could only be called collateral. This is one of the main reasons he took the risk. Once his branch became collateral, it would lose any chance of taking the head of the family.

The Qin Family’s situation was much better than Beisitian had imagined. Qin Youwei became the family head partly due to her contribution. But as Qin Youwei changed his mind, this advantage gradually disappeared.

With the right planning, Qin Xinyu will quickly become the head of the Qin Family again, and by then, Beisitian will truly have an additional support.

She doesn’t mind having support but can’t trust those who flock in uninvited. Now that she understands the Qin Family’s situation, she naturally won’t refuse Qin Xinyu’s allegiance.

Beisitian’s method is simple. Since Qin Xinyu is the rightful heir to the Qin Family and had followers even after leaving, he shouldn’t acknowledge stepping down or recognize Qin Youwei’s authority.

This matter needs some maneuvering, and Wei Zhongxun is the most suitable person for it, so Beisitian assigned it to him.

It’s true that Qingyu has few people, but behind almost every one of them, regardless of their size, stands a family. These families naturally won’t be disloyal to Qingyu or Beisitian because the true strength of Qingyu isn’t what it seems.

After Qin Youwei realized his methods were wrong, he began correcting them, at least on the surface, by presenting himself more properly. A few days later, he visited with lavish gifts, speaking and acting without his initial arrogance but with utmost respect.

”Doctor Bei, previously, I failed to restrain my people and offended you. This time, I’m here to apologize. On behalf of the Qin Family, I sincerely hope we can become a subordinate family to Qingyu, partly to honor ancestral instructions and because the Qin Family looks up to Qingyu.”

Qin Youwei no longer offered money, as previously, he didn’t take Beisitian seriously. In their industry, money isn’t scarce, and giving cash can be somewhat insulting.

This time, Qin Youwei brought two properties around Beijing and some small food chain stores as gifts for Beisitian.

Seeing these, Beisitian smiled immediately and graciously accepted.

This gesture greatly relieved Qin Youwei. Ultimately, she’s a young person in her twenties, even in Beijing, who hasn’t seen much of the world. Small food chains and a couple of properties were enough to please her.

Qin Youwei was quite pleased. As long as she could be appeased, there shouldn’t be an issue.

”Is the Qin Family truly willing to be loyal to me?” Beisitian asked, smiling.

Qin Youwei nodded, although he felt uneasy with the word ’loyalty,’ he didn’t show it on his face.

”Of course, the Qin Family, as your subordinate family, must be loyal to you!”

Take it slow; you have to walk step by step, eat a meal bite by bite!

Qin Youwei comforted himself inwardly, thinking it’s just a figure of speech anyway. Why worry so much?

Beisitian’s smile deepened, ”Wonderful, finally, there are people I can command.”

Qin Youwei’s smile remained unchanged, his gaze slightly lowered.

Command?

Who will command whom remains to be seen.

”Shouldn’t there be some kind of ceremony or public announcement; otherwise, nobody will know I have subordinates?” Beisitian asked, looking at Qin Youwei.

Qin Youwei’s eyelids twitched. He was reluctant to publicize it since being a subordinate family was just for Beisitian to know, to lower his guard against him. If it were announced, even making Beisitian a puppet and taking control of Qingyu would invite criticism.

”There’s no rush for this; there are still some internal conflicts within the family that need resolving. You know, there are differing opinions in the Qin Family about becoming a subordinate family. I’m afraid you’ll be displeased,” Qin Youwei said earnestly, intending to delay as long as possible.

He wanted to delay until he had Qingyu firmly in his grasp.

Beisitian nodded, ”Then make it quick.”

Qin Youwei smiled.

”By the way, since the Qin Family is my subordinate family now, shouldn’t it move to Beijing? There’s no reason for me to be running back and forth,” Beisitian said.

This decision was made after consulting with Qin Xinyu. If they’re to be a subordinate family, they must have a presence in Beijing, though they may not need to move the old residence, given the large number of people there.

But most of the main force would still need to follow Beisitian eventually, which is a challenge that previously sparked controversy. Now it’s better to throw it to Qin Youwei for him to resolve.

Qin Youwei didn’t show any difficulty. He was ready to move the base to Beijing, as it’s a big city with good resources. Once they took over everything from Qingyu, they had the potential to thrive more easily.

Moreover, the capital has favorable policies, and if they could establish themselves there, it would greatly benefit their future.
