I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 432: Chapter 431: Motives

Tao Hailin narrowed his eyes and said loudly, ”It really is you!” as he stared at Beisitian.

Beisitian’s smile remained unchanged, yet she did not respond.

Tian Heming couldn’t help but smile bitterly upon seeing this, his assessment of this precious granddaughter changed once again. He had only heard before that she wanted to meet Tao Hailin, but hadn’t gotten the chance. Now, witnessing her encounter with Tao Hailin, she was far more composed than him.

These traditional medicine families had immense respect for Mystic Doctor, thus when Tao Hailin arrived, Tian Heming personally went out to greet him and offered him the top seat.

Tao Hailin didn’t refuse; this was how it should be.

Seeing Beisitian’s calm and serene demeanor while facing Tao Hailin, Tian Heming quietly remarked to himself that strength is everything, regardless of the industry, regardless of the era; it’s always so.

Tao Hailin observed Beisitian, who was indeed as young as described, and felt a bit puzzled. Could this young person really be as impressive as Du Kai Bo said?

Was the medicine powder created by this young woman? If not, then who did? Such delicate and even talisman powder, he had never seen before.

”What is your name?” Tao Hailin asked calmly from the seat of honor.

Beisitian remained standing in the hall without moving, and replied faintly, ”Don’t you introduce yourself first before inquiring about others’ lives?”

Tao Hailin laughed; this young person had quite a bit of arrogance. Indeed, Mystic Doctor was an exceptional existence that should possess some arrogance. Besides, whether the talisman powder was made by her or not, she had reason to be proud.

Tao Hailin, thinking about the mysterious background and exceptional skills of the person behind her, couldn’t help but want to directly touch upon the main topic, to meet that person.

”Left-wing Tao Hailin, doesn’t Doctor Bei already know who I am?” Tao Hailin raised his eyebrows and smiled.

Beisitian nodded, ”Doctor Tao also knows who I am, right? So, what is the point of asking these questions?”

Tao Hailin furrowed his brows slightly; arrogance is one thing, but being conceited is another. This young woman didn’t show him any respect, nor did she have any reverence towards her elders. Her character was quite worthy of consideration.

Whether Beisitian belonged to their faction was still unknown; just considering the person behind her, Tao Hailin had no right to discipline someone else’s disciple, so he decided to temporarily ignore it, but his impression of Beisitian worsened.

”Could I meet your master?” Tao Hailin decided to be straightforward; talking too much with a junior was meaningless.

Beisitian laughed, ”That’s hard to do. My master has already passed away, a long time ago.”

Tao Hailin was stunned; deceased?

If the person was dead, then was the talisman powder really made by this young person? No, this person’s age is indeed a bit too young; even that Wei Family prodigy couldn’t make such delicate talisman powder.

Thinking of that Wei Family prodigy, Tao Hailin felt a sense of wonder; the Wei Family had talents emerging in this generation. Wei Zhongxun alone drew attention, and that prodigy was even more impossible to ignore, even if only one entered the Left-wing.

He thought suddenly, Beisitian must be using what her master left behind. Otherwise, could Beisitian’s talent surpass that Wei Family prodigy?

But if that were the case, could he bring Beisitian into the Left-wing?

With this thought, Tao Hailin looked at Beisitian with much more warmth, lacking the scrutiny and aggressive tone present at first.

”Is Doctor Bei alone nowadays?” Tao Hailin decided to first inquire into the situation.

”Yes.”

Beisitian understood what he meant by ’alone’; she hadn’t joined any faction, so she was considered alone. To these people, that meant a lone player; it’s somewhat better for families, while sects favor such Mystic Doctors.

Offer benefits, and they could be recruited.

”Doctor Bei must be working hard, being so young and on your own, it must be difficult.” Tao Hailin said with a smile.

His meaning wasn’t too obvious, but if someone with intent heard it, they might discern the care in his words. He hoped Beisitian would ask to join the Left-wing herself, considering its reputation.

Beisitian smiled lightly, ”Not difficult.”

Tao Hailin smiled silently for a moment; such conversation made continuing difficult.

Yet Beisitian didn’t seem to be lying, he glanced at the Tian Family, suddenly understanding; surely it’s not hard? With the Tian Family as a golden source, medical herbs were inexhaustible and plentiful. Running out meant others could gather more, naturally making it non-strenuous.

Seeing Beisitian not very cooperative, Tao Hailin weighed things in his heart, although she wasn’t respectful to him due to her formidable master and her not being one of his own. This, after joining the Left-wing, could be slowly guided.

He reckoned he had been too subtle, so Beisitian didn’t understand. At her age, normal schooling would just allow her to enter society, some attending university hadn’t yet entered society, lacking experience, making it unsurprising she missed his point.

Since that’s the case, he decided to humor her, proactively inquiring, which certainly gave her enough face!

”Has Doctor Bei thought about finding...” The word ’support’ hadn’t been spoken yet when a servant hurriedly ran in.

Tao Hailin frowned slightly, lowered his gaze, picked up the teacup; when recruiting, the people below are too unrefined. He disliked being interrupted when speaking.

Tian Heming also frowned; what was up with this servant?

However, upon seeing the visitor clearly, Tian Heming frowned even deeper; this wasn’t a servant, but his fifth son, Tian Qingyao!

”Don’t you know we have guests at home! Rushing like this, what a scene!” Tian Heming admonished lowly.

Tian Qingyao stopped in his tracks, glanced at Beisitian, knowing that if he didn’t provide a valid reason, he’d surely be scolded by his father later, so he quickly said, ”Dad, don’t be angry, the old man from Wei Family brought two disciples to visit, requested I immediately inform you, no matter what!”

He deliberately emphasized the last few sentences.

What kind of family was the Wei Family? If it had been the former Tian Qingyao, surely he wouldn’t know, and certainly wouldn’t report so discourteously. But now it was different; the Wei Family was renowned alongside the Left-wing. The visiting party included the Wei Family patriarch, the current household head, Wei Yuanqing!

Seated at the top, Tao Hailin furrowed his brows; what did that old geezer come here for!

Was it for Beisitian?

He pondered, glanced at Beisitian, but he couldn’t make up his mind.

Tian Heming didn’t wish to offend any side, so he promptly said, ”Wife, go and invite them!”

Dong Fengzhen quickly stood up, bringing along his fifth son Tian Qingyao to go and invite them.

Tian Heming initially wanted to go personally, but leaving Tao Hailin here wouldn’t be suitable. There was already tension between the two factions; he didn’t wish to agitate this fragile relationship.
