I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 419: Chapter 418

Driver Wang Tao went to the side and didn’t come back for a long time. Beisitian and Wei Zhongxun exchanged a glance, both seeing the worry in each other’s eyes. Could it be that he encountered some danger?

After waiting for another fifteen minutes and still not seeing Wang Tao come out, Beisitian knew something had changed and decided to temporarily retreat to avoid everyone getting trapped here without even a messenger left.

She gestured to Wei Zhongxun, who shared the same thought. They both agreed and prepared to retreat. Just as they stood up, four or five people surrounded them from all sides.

Beisitian looked at the group, her face serious, and said, ”Didn’t you say there would only be three!”

”Yes, but there’s no guarantee that others wouldn’t show up later.” Wei Zhongxun smiled bitterly.

Beisitian pursed her lips, incorrect information really is harmful, no wonder the army puts so much effort into intelligence.

Not to mention Beisitian is a woman, even if she were a man, two men wouldn’t be able to handle four or five men. They had no choice but to surrender without a fight.

The two were pushed and shoved into the abandoned warehouse. Outside was pitch black, and as they walked inside, there was a dim lamp glowing behind a pile of tall boxes, not very bright, but enough to see people’s faces clearly.

At the moment, three people were gathered around a wooden box playing cards. When they heard the commotion, they didn’t even lift their heads.

One of them, a slender man with a long face, didn’t even glance in their direction and said, ”Throw them aside first, wait until we finish this round of cards.”

The five people then pushed Beisitian and Wei Zhongxun to the ground and turned to leave.

The warehouse wasn’t that big; there were boxes piled up high in several places, some even reaching the ceiling.

Beisitian glanced around but didn’t see any trace of Tian Zhi or driver Wang Tao. She checked the surroundings carefully again and noticed the abandoned warehouse had a second floor with several simple rooms that looked like they were made of a thin layer of iron sheeting, with full windows and doors, clearly for temporary emergencies. But they’ve been there too long; there’s rust growing outside.

After five or six minutes, the three people finished their cards. The slender, long-faced man, resembling a horse, raised his head and looked up and down at the two.

The other two consisted of a fat man covered with fat and a short man in a leather jacket with slicked back hair, giving a greasy appearance.

The slender, horse-faced man looked at Wei Zhongxun and asked, ”Where are you two from?”

Wei Zhongxun sneered, ”Why should I tell you where we’re from?”

The fat man shook his body full of fat with a laugh, ”Not telling? This is your little junior sister, right? If you don’t tell me, I might just have to use her as an example!”

Wei Zhongxun’s face turned ugly, and he said with a sullen face, ”You dare!”

The fat man chuckled as he walked toward Beisitian, ”Brat, just try me if I dare or not!”

Seeing the fat large hand reaching out to Beisitian, Wei Zhongxun’s expression changed drastically, and he said sullenly, ”I’ll tell! Don’t touch her!”

The fat man indeed stopped, folded his arms, and stood there with a smile, ”Alright, spill it, and don’t try anything funny, pals. If we catch a lie, you two won’t get out of here alive!”

Anger was apparent on Wei Zhongxun’s face, and he snorted, saying, ”We are from the Wei Family.”

Beisitian lowered her gaze, was Wei Zhongxun acting, or did he really reveal his true identity?

Hearing this, the fat man’s face changed, and he turned back to exchange some silent communication with the three. The slender, horse-faced man came over and crouched in front of Wei Zhongxun.

”Kid, don’t play tricks. You say you’re from the Wei Family, you gotta have some proof.”

Wei Zhongxun sneered, ”I am from the Wei Family. What proof do you need? You must know about our family, right? Let me go quickly, or when my family finds out, they definitely won’t let you go!”

Beisitian looked at Wei Zhongxun, he played the part of being fierce while weak really well, it’s a pity if this guy doesn’t become an actor.

The three also saw his ’lack of confidence’ and laughed, but to be safe, they decided to check just in case he really was from the Wei Family?

They were here for successors, and they didn’t want to clash with these families, not yet anyways.

”What were you planning now that you’ve chased us here?” The slender, horse-faced man continued to ask.

Wei Zhongxun raised an eyebrow, ”You abducted someone we’re interested in. Of course, we’d want to find that person back, otherwise, how could we explain it to our families!”

The horse-faced man understood, but there was a hint of disbelief in his eyes, although the explanation was reasonable, since they were also here to find successors.

The one with the greasy, slicked back hair signaled to the two behind the boxes, whispering, ”This guy might be telling the truth. These two have been watching the games for three consecutive days and seem familiar with that kid. They might not be lying.”

”Whether it’s true or not doesn’t matter. If they are from the Wei Family, they must be eliminated to prevent them from revealing our whereabouts.” The slender, horse-faced man said.

”Even if they’re not from the Wei Family, they need to be eliminated. They’ve seen our faces, unless they join us, otherwise, they need to die.” A murderous intent gleamed in the fat man’s eyes.

The three nodded in agreement, thinking it made sense, but they couldn’t waste resources. So, they planned to make use of these two first by draining some ’essence’ from them.

The ’essence’ they referred to was ’poison blood,’ where they’d inject living people with deadly poison and extract their blood during the moments of their impending death, then make foul water from it.

The three were accustomed to killing, with no qualms about taking lives. The more essence they could gather, the more foul water they could produce, and they were used to it.

The three made up their minds to first check the identities of these two and then took them to the second floor and locked them up.

Before leaving, the three searched their belongings, taking away the talisman paper and the brush and talisman medium.

Beisitian only had the brush and talisman paper on her, while Wei Zhongxun had several talisman mediums, all of which were taken.

Not wanting to be groped by those lecherous hands, Beisitian willingly handed over her items. She wasn’t wearing much, and the talisman mediums couldn’t be hidden. What’s more, the brush and talisman paper were gone, rendering the talisman medium useless.

The three hadn’t figured out their identities yet, so they wouldn’t make things difficult for them, for now.

The door slammed shut, leaving the room in total darkness, with faint laughter from the three heard outside.

”Those bastards took all our equipment, without these things it’s going to be hard to get out of here.” Wei Zhongxun gritted his teeth in frustration.

He initially planned to make talisman powder that acts like an anesthetic, figuring out a way to disperse it outside so that they could escape through a window, but now that plan was impossible.

Beisitian remained silent; just because they didn’t have the equipment didn’t mean she couldn’t use Spiritual Talisman. But merely making anesthetics wouldn’t suffice, the window was too small; she might escape, but Wei Zhongxun certainly couldn’t.
