I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 427: Chapter 426: Transfer Orders

The peaceful and harmonious days flew by, and in the blink of an eye, spring had passed. The earth donned a layer of green, and people started wearing short sleeves.

During this time, two major events occurred. Wu Yuekai accepted a reassignment from the Military Department, becoming a general of the 113th Group Army.

Luo Xudong was promoted to sergeant, with the rank of captain, and was reassigned to the 232 Division in Capital City, effective immediately.

After receiving the order, Luo Xudong began the handover procedures. He belonged to the General Staff Department, but since the Ninth Department of the General Staff Department couldn’t be mentioned publicly, all his official duties were nominal, so there was really nothing to hand over.

However, the brothers in the company were all very reluctant to see him go.

The people in the medical team, upon learning that Beisitian was being transferred, showed expressions of reluctance. Ma Xiuli had a long face all day, complaining that Beisitian hadn’t informed them earlier, but she actually felt very sad.

The others also sighed repeatedly. Once the orders were issued, Beisitian said she would leave in just a few days. They had just developed a good rapport, and now she was preparing to go.

Zhang Meili and Zhang Hui Ping were not happy either, not because they were reluctant for Beisitian to leave, they were glad she was going. They were unhappy because Beisitian was going to the Capital!

Although both were division-level units, how could Anding City’s division-level units compare to those in the Capital?

Having a capable man is indeed beneficial, as even being associated brings advantages!

”I’d like to invite everyone for a meal tonight,” Beisitian said with a smile.

”A meal is certainly good, we should really enjoy one from you!” Ma Xiuli exclaimed loudly.

Beisitian smiled at her.

The medical team couldn’t be without a doctor, so someone had to stay behind. Surprisingly, Zhang Meili and Zhang Hui Ping offered to stay voluntarily.

They didn’t want to celebrate Beisitian’s promotion. Her smiling face was too dazzling for them, so they decided not to attend the dinner.

Having someone stay behind for duty made everyone else happy, as a group began to discuss where to go.

Beisitian went upstairs to find Sun Wangnian and invited him to join. Sun Wangnian waved his hand, ”Thank you for your kindness, Doctor Bei, but this old man won’t join you young folks for the fun.”

Sun Wangnian watched Beisitian’s departing figure and sighed inwardly. She was bound to leave; she couldn’t stay in such a small place forever.

He held Wei Zhongxun’s transfer order in his hand. As soon as the news of her leaving came, Wei Zhongxun immediately had his order issued as well, and both were gone.

Sun Wangnian suddenly felt a bit lonely. Once these two left, it would be hard for anyone to think of this small medical team again.

Wei Zhongxun also did not join them for dinner, not because he didn’t want to, but because a message had come from home.

Ever since the current head of the Wei Family learned about Beisitian, they agreed to let Wei Zhongxun stay here, partly to strengthen the relationship with her and partly to prevent other factions from approaching.

Now, due to Beisitian’s transfer, the family was actively arranging things for him, although unfortunately, it seemed a bit difficult to join the 232 Division.

Wei Zhongxun had to leave Anding City early because of this matter.

In the evening, the medical team had a gathering outside, and everyone drank some alcohol. Unexpectedly, Beisitian, who seemed quiet and sweet, could actually hold her drink, managing two cups of over 30-degree liquor without any issues.

Since only Shen Junping and Tian Lei were the men, they joined in with their 38-degree liquor. Normally, he found this strength not enough, but for women to handle this degree was quite impressive.

Even Qi Xiu Hui drank a bit, but after drinking half a cup, she started feeling dizzy. Ma Xiuli got totally drunk, clinging to Beisitian and crying, insisting she didn’t want her to leave, which made Beisitian feel a bit sour inside too.

Yu Shufang hurriedly pulled her away from Beisitian. Beisitian’s future was becoming brighter, and she should be happy for her.

Shen Junping, having drunk, lost his usual restraint, sitting there somewhat sullen, occasionally looking at Ma Xiuli with a gloomy gaze.

He liked Ma Xiuli, but she seemed oblivious, not sensing his feelings at all. He had been waiting for so many years, resisting family pressure to get married, yet he didn’t know how long he had to wait.

Yu Shufang and Beisitian exchanged a glance, thinking their progress was really at a snail’s pace, terribly slow!

Shen Junping too, as a grown man, should be more active. If you don’t express your feelings, how could someone as thick-skinned as Ma Xiuli possibly notice?

Yu Shufang always felt it wasn’t right for her to say anything about such matters, so she watched from the side and did nothing. Beisitian suddenly thought perhaps she could help before she left.

Beisitian said with a smile, ”Brother Shen, it’s just about time. I have a friend who is still single, and I think you two are quite suitable. Should I introduce her to you?”

Eating, drinking, and chatting aimlessly, it was all part of the fun, so everyone laughed as they listened, looking at Shen Junping with mischievous smiles. Tian Lei, who was closest to him, began to joke around.

Luo Jiali, sipping her drink, occasionally lost in thought and glanced at Tian Lei. She was leaving too, but hadn’t told anyone. Tian Lei, clueless as ever, hadn’t noticed.

Everyone was joking with Shen Junping, while he awkwardly tried to refuse. Suddenly, Ma Xiuli jumped out from Yu Shufang’s embrace.

”You little brat! I was reluctant to let you go, and here you are digging at my corner before even leaving, are you tired of living... Uh.” Ma Xiuli hiccupped, looking quite drunk.

Shen Junping was stunned, staring blankly at Ma Xiuli. What did her words mean? Did he hear it right?

Beisitian gave Ma Xiuli a glance and deliberately said, ”How is it your corner? Brother Shen is already this age and still single, he should have found someone long ago!”

Almost thirty years old, by which other families’ kids would already be in school.

”No way!” Ma Xiuli said with her hands on her hips, ”He’s mine! No one’s allowed to make a move on him!”

If the previous words were open to interpretation, what she said now was explicit enough.

Shen Junping stood up excitedly, saying to Ma Xiuli, ”Xiuli, is this really how you feel? Do you like me too?”

With her hands on her hips, Ma Xiuli’s eyelids were drooping, barely able to hear what Shen Junping was saying, muttering unintelligibly as she fell back.

Shen Junping rushed to catch her, unable to stop the smile on his face.

Yu Shufang smiled, thinking if she’d known it would be like this, she would have spoken up sooner, always hesitant and afraid of creating obstacles for them. Everyone else laughed too; no one was blind to the fact that Ma Xiuli’s visits to the third clinic weren’t all about seeing Yu Shufang and Beisitian.

The party came to an end, with some happy and some sad. This was the last reunion for the medical team.
