I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 418: Chapter 417

Luo Xudong is currently on a task and can’t be reached, and Beisitian doesn’t know who to turn to for the moment!

The old man is in the Capital City, too far to help immediately. She sighed, suddenly realizing that coming here, although getting rid of being alone, still left her without anyone to rely on in a crisis, just like in the past life.

At this moment, Beisitian genuinely hoped there were many people around her, whether they were apprentices or successors, perhaps even someone like Du Kai Bo who could reach out to her.

Beisitian closed her eyes. Just as she was worrying, a taxi stopped in front of her, and the passenger door opened, revealing Wei Zhongxun.

”I know who it is, get in!” Wei Zhongxun said.

Beisitian’s eyes lit up, and she quickly took out a brush and yellow paper, writing a few words to give to Lu Tao and Li Yong, saying, ”Go to the army to find Sergeant Zhou, and hand this paper to him.”

If Luo Xudong returns, he will know what to do when he sees this paper. If Luo Xudong doesn’t come back, Sergeant Zhou won’t sit idly by, and at least they won’t be isolated and helpless.

Beisitian got in the car, and the taxi immediately drove off.

”Three Mystic Doctors have come to Anding City, the kind of Mystic Doctors,” Wei Zhongxun said.

Beisitian glanced at the driver, and Wei Zhongxun quickly said, ”He’s one of us, don’t worry.”

The driver nodded towards Beisitian in the rearview mirror, then focused on driving ahead.

”You mean those people kidnapped Xiao Zhi?” Beisitian asked.

”Very likely, because I saw someone at the exchange match on the first day. Don’t glare at me; I didn’t know they were Mystic Doctors until I saw photos brought to me last night at home.”

Wei Zhongxun held a high position in the Wei Family, which had three successors including him. Therefore, when the Mystic Doctors were in Anding City, the Wei Family would certainly send someone to tell him to be careful and avoid running into them.

When Wei Zhongxun got the photos, he immediately recognized one person because that person had a few words with a woman with a child, which caught his attention.

He originally planned to inform Beisitian today, but she left early, and when he arrived, he found all three were present at the scene. He didn’t dare make a fuss or alert them, so he lay low nearby.

He initially thought the three were after Beisitian, so upon seeing her safely leave the school and reach the residential building, he didn’t say anything further. Better to avoid trouble since only two family members had come, and neither was a Mystic Doctor, making it nearly impossible to deal with the three.

Moreover, this matter couldn’t be reported to the police, unless they sought the Military Department’s top officials. But even if they agreed to send personnel, it would require orders, by which time the three would have fled.

Thus, when Wei Zhongxun received a message from home that the three had kidnapped the champion of the recent exchange match, he was astonished and rushed over, knowing the champion was Beisitian’s cousin, and she must be anxious.

The two family members who came were not Mystic Doctors, but they were experienced in intelligence. They quickly tracked Beisitian’s destination and followed her.

”Why would they kidnap Xiao Zhi?” Beisitian frowned. Her first thought was that they might have discovered her identity and kidnapped Tian Zhi to threaten or use him against her.

”That I don’t know, but I heard these people have appeared not only in Anding City but also in other places, especially cities with famous traditional Chinese medicine schools. So I suspect they are looking for successors.”

Looking for successors?

Seeing Beisitian’s calm expression, Wei Zhongxun didn’t dare be mysterious and said, ”These people act every three years, appearing in various cities, looking for good talents to specially train as Mystic Doctors.”

”How do you know all this?” Beisitian asked, looking up.

Wei Zhongxun shrugged, ”Our Wei Family, even if we don’t dare confront them openly, at least needs to know their information. Otherwise, being in the dark is just unacceptable.”

He spoke lightly, but all this information was, in fact, painstakingly gathered by his family’s intelligence personnel over a very long time. After all, not being able to confront them directly while still needing to understand them thoroughly is quite challenging.

Beisitian nodded, affirming that the Wei Family’s approach was correct.

”Since Tian Zhi won first place, they must have been eyeing him for a long time. Because the search for successors wasn’t due for another three years, I didn’t think in that direction. Even now, I’m not entirely sure—it’s just a guess.”

Beisitian nodded; having a direction made things much clearer. She now hoped it was those people because otherwise, she wouldn’t know where to even begin looking.

”Do you know where they’ve gone?” Beisitian asked, hoping to notify Company Commander Zhou if she got an address in advance.

”We’re tracking them now, but we don’t know the exact location. The opponent doesn’t seem to have stopped.” The driver suddenly spoke up.

After trailing for more than half an hour, the vehicle carrying Tian Zhi finally stopped at an old warehouse, now abandoned. The gate was only shut but not locked, and generally, no one would come this way.

The driver’s name was Wang Tao, a man in his forties, about five feet nine inches tall, with a flat head and small eyes. Although he didn’t look that spirited, his gaze was sharp.

He parked the car a couple of blocks away, and the three of them got out and walked over. Before they went very far, they saw a yellow van. The thick layer of dust on it made it look like it had been towed from a scrap yard, very much like Lu Tao and Li Yong’s description, deepening their suspicion.

If they weren’t sure, Beisitian couldn’t send the message back. If it was false, it would be false alarm military information, subject to punishment.

”Are you sure there are only three people?” Beisitian asked in a lowered voice.

The three crouched behind the worn yellow van, peering at the abandoned warehouse. It was so quiet, it seemed like no one ever came, yet with only this yellow van around, the likelihood of them being inside was high.

The driver, Wang Tao, gestured for the other two to stay put, then stealthily approached the abandoned warehouse with light steps.

Without any cover nearby, if anyone was around, driver Wang Tao would be spotted when he ventured out. But he had to get close to the abandoned warehouse to determine if they were inside.

They could wait as long as necessary, but Tian Zhi couldn’t afford to.

Wang Tao approached the abandoned warehouse and glanced at the lock hanging on the door. Those people wouldn’t use the main door if they were hiding here.

He peeked through a crack in the door, but it was too dark to see anything. He signaled a cross with his arm towards the others, indicating not to act rashly, and then moved to one side to check for a side door.
