I Became a Medical Genius in the 80s

Chapter 425: Chapter 424

Tian Zhi was surprised that Beisitian agreed. Although he was a named disciple, he could now call her Master. However, he lived in modern society and was unfamiliar with these hierarchical relationships, so he had no inclination to change how he addressed her. Anyone familiar with these traditions would have changed immediately.

Beisitian didn’t remind him. In the world of the Mystic Doctor, a named disciple is slightly better than an attendant but still falls within the scope of miscellaneous help, lacking the privilege to enter the inner circle. Whether he calls her Master or not is inconsequential, as there’s no pressure if he doesn’t when it’s time to part ways.

”Cousin, can I make talismans like you?” Tian Zhi asked.

Beisitian laughed, ”That’s called Spiritual Talisman. Once you gain more medical experience and your spirit becomes potent and full, Spiritual Talisman will be your first step!”

Spiritual Talisman?

Tian Zhi suddenly remembered Wei Zhongxun in that little dark room, where he was shocked at his cousin’s talisman making, murmuring those four words to himself.

”Cousin means that once I can perform Spiritual Talisman, I will become a Mystic Doctor?” Tian Zhi finished speaking, saw Beisitian nodding, and couldn’t help but feel confused. ”Is that Wei person a Mystic Doctor? He seems to know about Spiritual Talisman.”

Beisitian shook her head, ”Strictly speaking, not yet.” She couldn’t explain openly, as probably very few could perform Spiritual Talisman here. Yet, those who use a talisman medium can achieve certain results. Saying no wouldn’t be entirely accurate, but saying yes doesn’t feel right to Beisitian either.

”You should return to Beijing now. Don’t attract attention for a while. When people forget about you, come find me.” Beisitian suggested.

This kidnapping incident was, in fact, Tian Zhi’s bad luck. The primary goal of those people was to acquire weapons, choosing the exchange location near the tournament. Although crowded, it allowed them to quickly create chaos for escape if any issues arose.

Because of this, they noticed Tian Zhi, the champion, and decided to kidnap him, intending to groom him as a successor. It wasn’t yet the time to search for a successor, but looking ahead of time wasn’t against the rules.

However, since they were under surveillance, they couldn’t take Tian Zhi away. Sticking to their principle of not wasting any opportunity, they planned to use him to make medicine and bury the body afterward to clean up.

Ironically, this unnecessary action led to their demise and exposed their organization.

Tian Zhi nodded in agreement, left the dormitory building, returned to the school administrators, and departed to Beijing with them the same day.

In the afternoon, Beisitian went to work at the medical team as usual. Wei Zhongxun’s anxious expression somewhat eased, and upon arrival, he called Beisitian to the office. Zhang Meili and Zhang Hui Ping’s gaze towards them changed.

Beisitian sighed, knowing Wei Zhongxun couldn’t wait to learn more after discovering Spiritual Talisman.

”You’re making it quite troublesome for me,” Beisitian said helplessly, sitting on the sofa.

”I’m terribly sorry, but I just couldn’t wait any longer.” Wei Zhongxun’s attitude towards Beisitian had shifted, becoming more restrained and cautious.

The person before him was the only one so far capable of performing Spiritual Talisman!

Outside rumors claimed that even among those mystic doctors making bad water, a few could perform Spiritual Talisman. But rumors were still rumors, while the person right in front was real!

Moreover, when Wei Zhongxun thought about the day in the small dark room, the dense blue light was astounding. If Spiritual Talisman stunned him, the intense blue light was nothing less!

”May I inquire, which faction are you from?” Wei Zhongxun asked.

He could only be certain now that Beisitian wasn’t among those making bad water, which was his greatest relief. While the Left and Right Sects fought among themselves, they wouldn’t harm the world, unlike that group of people. The Sects represented factional struggle, while with that group, it was a fight of righteousness against evil.

”This question is quite bold.” Beisitian frowned slightly.

Wei Zhongxun felt tense, then smiled bitterly. He realized he was too impatient. He calmed down and sincerely apologized, ”Really sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it. Perhaps you don’t know, you’re the only one currently capable of Spiritual Talisman, so...”

Beisitian’s brows furrowed more tightly, ”Do all Mystic Doctors use a talisman medium?”

”Yes.”

”Why is no one capable of Spiritual Talisman?” Beisitian questioned, puzzled. Without Spiritual Talisman, how can one be called a Mystic Doctor?

Wei Zhongxun smiled bitterly, Spiritual Talisman couldn’t possibly be that simple. The spirit required must be extremely abundant, and capabilities across the board must be exceptionally strong. Only then can one perform Spiritual Talisman, hence making it the pinnacle for Mystic Doctors.

”Well... overall abilities might not be sufficient.” What else could Wei Zhongxun say? He was troubled too. He wanted to perform Spiritual Talisman too, to impress and charm!

Now that everything was laid bare, Beisitian asked more freely. Discovering that Spiritual Talisman had transitioned from a foundational condition to the highest peak left her quite puzzled, not understanding the reason behind it.

Wei Zhongxun dared not ask indiscriminately anymore. Yet, from Beisitian’s questions, he realized that she had scant knowledge about the current Mystic Doctor group. Additionally, he sensed an odd feeling, as if Spiritual Talisman seemed not as difficult for Beisitian as they imagined.

Wei Zhongxun didn’t know what to say. Was this a dialogue between genius and fool, where everything seemed simple to the genius while insurmountable for the rest?

Furthermore, from Beisitian’s words, he sensed she probably didn’t belong to any faction nor some small folk group, which made Wei Zhongxun very excited.

In this case, if Beisitian could ally with the Wei Family, the Wei Family would undoubtedly rise swiftly!

Wei Zhongxun had already secretly sent word to his family, taking confidentiality measures with the family’s red encryption. This way, only his grandfather could see the encrypted document.

If not for the fear of never finding Beisitian again, or the Left-wing getting ahead, Wei Zhongxun should have gone personally back for a visit.

Beisitian knew Wei Zhongxun had already shared details about her with his family, meaning her identity would inevitably be exposed eventually.

She thought the old man was right. To protect those around her, mere evasion and concealment wouldn’t work. It wasn’t her nature to hide. However, ever since she cared about someone, considerations had multiplied uncontrollably, experiencing hesitation that stalled her progress.

”I won’t join any faction, stop having thoughts in that direction.” Beisitian said lightly, observing Wei Zhongxun’s expression.
