Why Would an Aircraft Carrier Be Dispatched to Escort His Fishing Boat?

26: Chapter 26: The Dragon’s Descendant?Qingyu Residential District. Apartment 502!

On the sofa, Qin Xueyao and Jiang Chen were in front of the television, watching the live broadcast of the World Intelligent Technology Conference.

Today, Qin Xueyao was wearing a semi-sheer loungewear dress. She held a large pile of potato chips in her arms, and a row of her favorite beverages sat on the living room table.

Upon seeing the powerful Soul of God at the United States booth on the right, she crushed the potato chips in her hand into powder. With a tense expression, she looked at the relaxed Jiang Chen beside her and couldn’t help but ask repeatedly.

”Honey, why hasn’t Longke Academy’s intelligent mecha come out yet?”

”Honey, what do you think of the combat capability of this Soul of God from the United States!”

”Honey, didn’t you participate in the intelligent mecha experiments at Longke Academy?”

”I’m dying of anxiety!”

Watching his girlfriend’s anxious state, Jiang Chen was not nervous at all; instead, he smiled and said, ”No need to worry. Based on my understanding, the parameters for the Soul of God were exposed on online forums a long time ago. The United States is just too confident, believing that other countries’ mechas are definitely inferior to theirs.”

”How do their parameters compare to Longke Academy’s?” Qin Xueyao asked.

Jiang Chen replied, ”Overall, it’s an 80/20 split. That remaining 20 percent is just because the United States still has a slight advantage in the field of materials.”

”But what determines the outcome of a battle, besides mecha materials, includes chip processing power, combat systems, target locking, movement speed, and other comprehensive capabilities.”

”According to my judgment, the Descendant of the Dragon will definitely defeat the Soul of God!”

Jiang Chen revealed the name of the intelligent mecha developed by Longke Academy.

”The Descendant of the Dragon?”

”Hiss!”

”It sounds very imposing!”

After hearing Jiang Chen’s analysis, Qin Xueyao immediately felt more confident.

She took out her phone and logged into her financial account. As she shorted Tesla and bought shares of Future Auto, she murmured to herself, ”Whether I can get rich or not depends on this wave.”

”Hmm?” Jiang Chen looked at his girlfriend in surprise. She had actually pulled out nearly a million, choosing to short Tesla with half and buy Future Auto with the other half.

Qin Xueyao chuckled and secretly told Jiang Chen, ”This is the pocket money I’ve saved up over the years! Don’t tell my dad.”

”You’re a little rich woman!” Jiang Chen smiled.

Then he said, ”But you bought too early. You should have waited until the fight starts to buy.”

Jiang Chen also had over a million in his hands, but he planned to wait until the fight started and the stock prices of Tesla and Future Auto fluctuated violently before purchasing.

”It’s fine! Anyway, it’s a guaranteed win.” Qin Xueyao cheered herself on! If she won, she’d buy a house! If she lost... she’d go work in a factory.

*Whoosh!* Suddenly, the television camera showed a figure flying over the heads of the crowd and landing on the Chinese booth on the left.

”Holy crap! What just flew over?”

”Is that the Descendant of the Dragon?!”

Qin Xueyao and Jiang Chen stared intently at the television screen.

At the exhibition site, Journalist Zhou Daibing hurriedly asked the cameraman to aim the lens at the left booth.

Looking at the two-meter-tall, crimson, precision mecha on the booth, she immediately explained, ”It seems this is our country’s intelligent mecha!”

”If I’m not mistaken, it just leaped directly from behind the crowd, soaring two or three meters into the air, covering a distance of tens of meters, and landed directly on our booth!”

”It seems our intelligent mecha’s aerial capability is quite impressive!”

As soon as these words were spoken, netizens on major media platforms instantly went wild.

[Wow! Amazing! This aerial capability—it truly lives up to being a world-class intelligent mecha!]

[It really is eye-opening! Japan’s maid robots and sweeping robots definitely don’t have this capability!]

[That big oaf, the Soul of God, over there has just been standing there; it probably doesn’t have this kind of aerial capability!]

Facing the excitement of many netizens, some internet trolls still disdainfully said, [It’s just a mere leap, not flight! Besides, the Soul of God hasn’t even been activated yet; how do you know it doesn’t have similar aerial capabilities?]

[Yeah, yeah, yeah, your precious Soul of God not only has aerial capabilities but also flight capabilities, enough to send you directly to meet God.]

[Hahahaha!]

Seeing that Longke Academy’s intelligent mecha was impressive, netizens on major media platforms immediately felt confident and started fiercely roasting the trolls who were deliberately mocking and belittling it!

At this moment, on the Chinese booth, Xia Zhongxun and his team appeared.

He personally walked to the microphone and proudly announced to the global media, ”Hello everyone, I am Xia Zhongxun from Longke Academy. This is an intelligent mecha completely developed independently by our country!”

”Its name is the Descendant of the Dragon, signifying the descendants of the dragon, endless and enduring!”

*Clap, clap, clap!* As soon as these words were spoken, thunderous applause erupted at the scene.

Compared to the United States’ various boastful parameters and flashy displays of strength, Xia Zhongxun didn’t say much. He simply and concisely stated the name of the mecha and its meaning.

It could be described as having a commanding vision! True masters don’t need parameters to show off! They only need one sentence: I am the Descendant of the Dragon, endless and enduring!

The demeanor of a powerhouse was self-evident!

Lawton, over at the United States side, seeing the scene applauding for the Chinese intelligent mecha, couldn’t help but feel his limelight was stolen. He stood up, picked up the microphone, and shouted across the space, ”Old Man Xia, you’ve finally arrived. Do you still remember our bet from a week ago?”

As soon as these words were spoken, the media on site instantly aimed their lenses at Lawton and Xia Zhongxun.

These two, one the Dean of Longke Academy and the other the Minister of the United States Ministry of Science and Technology, both represented the top-tier standards of their respective countries.

Today, the intelligent mechas under their respective commands were about to engage in a contest! It could be said that global media was waiting with bated breath!

”Mr. Lawton, I remember! That is why we are here,” Xia Zhongxun said with a humble yet confident smile.

”Good!”

”Then clear the field and make space!”

”Let the Descendant of the Dragon and the Soul of God compete!”

As the words fell, the tens of thousands of onlookers at the scene retreated, forming a rectangle around the booths of the two countries.

The combined space of these two booths was about as large as two football fields, enough for the two mechas to fight to their hearts’ content.

For a moment, only the Descendant of the Dragon and the Soul of God remained on the booth, standing there quietly, separated by more than eighty meters.

”Soul of God, awaken!” Lawton gave the order.

The Soul of God suddenly activated. Its pitch-black body suddenly flickered with a black light source at its head and chest!

Its entire body, incredibly precise with interlocking mechanical arms, legs, head, and other parts, began to move with a clattering sound.

As it stretched, what was originally over three meters tall actually shot up to over five meters! A complete giant!

”Holy crap!” A gasp went through the scene.

Everyone originally thought the Soul of God, at over three meters, was already very tall, a head taller than the Descendant of the Dragon. Now that it had activated, it was actually more than two meters taller than the Descendant of the Dragon.

[Hahaha, judging by size alone, the Soul of God is already crushing the Descendant of the Dragon!]

[What Descendant of the Dragon? They’re just a bunch of worms!]

[Hilarious! Can’t wait to see the Descendant of the Dragon get picked up and beaten to a pulp by the Soul of God!]

Watching the Soul of God activate, the bootlickers on major media platforms became excited once again.
