Martial Arts: I Have Diligence Reward System

Chapter 7: Chapter 4: Perseverance Is the Essence of Martial Arts

Nine Needle Weight Training is a secret technique designed for ordinary people’s exercise.

According to Xiong Taiguang, this secret technique comes from a particularly formidable predecessor in the military.

Xiong Taiguang himself has never used it.

By the time he obtained Nine Needle Weight Training, he was already a Sealed Martial Artist, and pure weight training was basically meaningless.

Even others in the military have not used it.

The predecessor had already fallen in battle, and after Xiong Taiguang received the inheritance, it was the third to come into the hands of Su Yue.

This secret technique has a miraculous effect on the Qi Blood of ordinary people.

Whereas real Sealed Martial Artists have secret techniques to train, all the Martial Arts Universities offer corresponding secret techniques.

The most difficult stage is the preliminary phase for ordinary people.

There are no secret techniques for high school students in society, making Nine Needle Weight Training quite precious.

At least in Cengyan City, Su Yue had never heard of secret techniques for ordinary people.

Everyone uses the most traditional breakthrough methods.

Of course, the essence of this Nine Needle Weight Training is merely the weight bearing.

The valuable part is these two boxes of silver needles.

The first box is the one Su Yue is currently using.

Each needle weighs 10 pounds.

Inserted into specific acupoints, it has the effect of a 20-pound load.

Su Yue currently has 3 needles inserted, which means he’s carrying 60 pounds of weight while running at all times.

Weight training is not a secret; many people do it this way.

But a 60-pound sandbag would be very cumbersome; if the binding area is not appropriate, it may also cause uneven stress and leave sequelae.

However, these silver needles can stimulate the acupoints, distribute stress evenly, and achieve the effect of whole-body weight bearing, making them a divine artifact for training.

The first box, nine needles weigh 90 pounds.

If all are inserted into the acupoints, it can achieve a 180-pound bearing effect.

Such weight can be carried for a few minutes, but maintaining long-duration sprints is simply unrealistic.

Su Yue is currently using three needles for 60 pounds.

Today, he prepares to challenge the fourth needle.

Carrying 80 pounds on you at all times is no joke.

With the silver needles in the body, the Qi Blood is also suppressed, which is also why detectors cannot detect it.

As for the other box, Su Yue cannot attempt it yet.

Although Xiong Taiguang didn’t say explicitly, Su Yue, with a martial artist father, could at least guess the preciousness of these silver needles.

To make a 10-pound needle, how advanced the forging method must be.

Moreover, another box with each needle weighing 40 pounds still needs to maintain such a small size, which is simply defying the heavens.

Thus, Su Yue feels grateful to Xiong Taiguang and sincerely hopes he can turn over a new leaf.

Snore!

Snore!

Through the wireless earphones, Xiong Taiguang is snoring.

Such a sound sleep.

Su Yue shakes his head and continues to take orders.

Endless hard cultivation, racing against time.

Rest?

Does not exist.

In martial arts cultivation, the hardest part is not the physical pain during training.

It’s the day-to-day monotony that is the greatest obstacle.

Breaking through the limits once is not difficult, maintaining a few days of high-intensity training, many can do.

But if it’s continuous, unending monotonous persistence, someone will gradually slack off, find excuses to rest until they eventually give up, for example:

...

I’ve been training all morning, how about a beauty nap in the afternoon.

It’s the weekend, everyone’s resting, I might as well slack off and watch a show. The Chinese-Western co-produced movie Journey to the West is released.

My idol has a concert, I can’t support on-site, isn’t it okay to watch the replay online.

The tissue paper is ready by the bedside, and the harem in the USB drive, long time no see.

...

It is often these unremarkable excuses that bury many students’ martial artist careers.

Once you do it twice, there will be a third and a fourth.

The more you take leave for yourself, you get used to resting, which is fatal for a martial artist.

After all, the time for a preparatory martial artist is about only two years.

The first year is sophomore year.

Everyone relies on self-motivated training, some will be admitted to the potential class, but most students will be eliminated.

This year, not only tests talent but is also a challenge to self-discipline.

The second year.

Senior year potential class.

Here, preparatory martial artists will only start receiving real systematic training.

But sadly, many have already wasted themselves in sophomore year.

When they suddenly realize it, a year has passed, in this era, repeating a year is not an option.

The threshold of the potential class is actually a test of self-discipline as well.

Undisciplined students can’t become outstanding martial artists.

...

No classes on Saturday.

Su Yue’s schedule is simple.

First, put the things back home, then continue with his delivery work.

Actually, there is physical training at school today, but it’s not mandatory, participation is voluntary.

Su Yue thinks there’s no effect and might as well earn more money.

”Oh right, today is Su Jianjun’s birthday, I should buy a cake.”

Passing by a cake shop, Su Yue slaps his forehead.

Su Jianjun.

He’s my little cousin.

Although he’s adopted, we grew up together like real brothers.

My uncle Su Jianzhou isn’t my real uncle, but my dad’s sworn brother.

We’ve been together for so many years that we’re just like family.

As for why an elementary school student is named Su Jianjun, that’s all thanks to my dad.

It’s said that Su Yue was almost named Su Jian Country.

It was early, not many people around, so it didn’t take long for the cake to be ready, and Su Yue used a group coupon. The clerk didn’t look very pleased.

”200 bucks gone.”

Last night, he earned over 190 bucks, and just like that, 200 was gone.

But buying an animal cream cake was worth it.

Vegetable cream cakes are cheaper but not so good for health. Su Jianjun, being an elementary school student, should eat something better.

The cake had Pigsy drawn on it, probably because he’s born in the Year of the Pig. It’s odd that Su Jianjun’s hero turned out to be Pigsy.

Su Yue headed back directly.

No one was home. The elementary school student had the weekend off, and my cousin went to the factory with Uncle.

Uncle lost both legs but can do some handiwork at the factory. Unfortunately, the pay for such work isn’t high, about 2800 a month.

Every weekend, Su Jianjun goes to the factory under the pretense of accompanying his dad, helping out with additional work.

The kid is quite sensible.

The house is basic, but very clean.

This place used to be a warehouse; at least it’s quite spacious.

The rent is 310 bucks a month, and with water and electricity, it totals around 360. The landlord’s really considerate; it’s almost like living for free compared to the cake price and even rent.

There are quite a few rooms; the three of us have one each, with several empty rooms.

Su Yue hid two boxes of silver needles.

Along with three Qi Blood Pills, it seems Xiong Taiguang isn’t very wealthy either.

Su Yue sighed; he’s truly grateful.

...

Effort Point +1

Effort Point +2

Effort Point +1

...

Su Yue washed his face, gritted his teeth, and stuck the fourth silver needle into his lower abdomen.

It really hurts.

The pain made him want to bite into the plugboard and electrocute himself.

Actually, it hurts the same no matter what you insert; the first time feels suffocating, but the second time is refreshing.

Same with the silver needle.

Pain, real pain.

The damn Effort System keeps reminding Su Yue: yes, you are in pain.

The more Su Yue hurts, the more effort points the system gives.

This time, it gave 8 points directly.

A rare generosity.

Whew!

So heavy.

With 80 pounds of load, Su Yue’s AJ shoes were getting deformed.

Before confiscating the family property, Su Yue had bought many shoes, which were conveniently retained.

Thanks to his past extravagance, he was quite the spendthrift martial artist kid, changing shoes before they wore out.

Thanks to these old shoes, he can maintain his tough cultivation.

Despite this, he’s worn out five or six pairs.

Cultivation really consumes shoes.

”Whew... a new weight, a new cultivation. Continue delivering takeaway; today, I’ll deliver more to earn back the cake money.”

Su Yue found a pen, wrote a note, and placed it by the cake.

Happy Birthday.

Just these four words, no more rambling.

After leaving, Su Yue went to a quiet place and set his backpack on fire.

...

Cengyan Second Middle School playground.

”Why isn’t Wang Lu Feng here today?”

The sports teacher looked at the students who came for training, suddenly furrowing his brow.

Wang Lu Feng from class 3 is a promising candidate and usually the most proactive in training.

”Don’t know.”

Not many from class 3 came; Gong Ling, the class monitor, shook her head and answered the teacher’s question.

”Because of the S-class wanted criminal situation, the Investigation and Arrest Bureau is overwhelmed. His dad might not manage to keep his job, so he’s probably not in the mood to train.”

A student from the neighboring class said.

”Martial artist kid, it’s... not that special!”

Another student whispered.

”Alright, stop talking behind others’ backs. Wang Lu Feng might have his own things going on. Let’s start training.”

The coach shook his head.

Indeed, these martial artist kids are somewhat fragile.

Take Su Yue from Admiral’s Family; though he stayed at Second Middle School via installment tuition fees, he’s hardly here for training now. It’s said he’s delivering takeaways daily, neglecting the main focus.

If not for the Martial Arts University, he could’ve transferred to a high school in the county without suffering like this.

Can’t understand.
