Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 398: Chapter 398: Receiving a Package from Future Mother-in-law

Yunyi had just arrived at the clinic when Doctor Qiu came over. ”Doctor Chu, I forgot to tell you yesterday that you have a parcel. It’s been here for many days now, in the warehouse. Remember to pick it up.”

Upon hearing that she had a package, Yunyi couldn’t figure out who it was from. It definitely wasn’t from Huo Jingrui, since he was still at her place yesterday and hadn’t mentioned anything about a parcel.

Yunyi smiled and thanked him, ”Okay, I got it.”

After Doctor Qiu finished speaking, he didn’t leave but instead started asking about the film shoot in the Northwest. By that time, Nurses Chen Xiaojuan and Kong Jiaqiao also came over.

Yunyi then selected some interesting stories to tell them, and they listened with rapt attention. If it weren’t for patients coming in for consultations, they probably wouldn’t have wanted to leave.

Before the noon break, Yunyi made her way to the warehouse. ”Sister Cui, I’m here to pick up my parcel.”

Sister Cui stood up with a smile. ”Doctor Chu, your family is so good to you, sending such a big parcel. It has made everyone here envious.”

What she didn’t mention was that when everyone had free time, they couldn’t help but guess what was inside the parcel.

Of course, they also couldn’t resist touching and squeezing it.

Sister Cui looked at the large parcel. ”Can you handle it?”

But no sooner had she finished speaking than Yunyi had already picked it up. ”Sister Cui, I’ve been strong since I was young. I’ll take it now.”

Sister Cui watched Yunyi leave enviously, admiring not only the size of the parcel but also her strength.

Only after Yunyi brought the parcel back did she realize she didn’t recognize the sender.

She grabbed a pair of scissors, opened the package, and was a bit surprised to see the contents: milk powder, chocolate, a variety of cookies, a wool coat, a small cotton jacket, two pairs of pants—one black and one blue—as well as two sweaters, one red and one camel. The styles were all very good; they wouldn’t look outdated even in later generations.

At the bottom, there were also a pair of black ankle boots and a pair of Huili white sneakers. These were all rare commodities, but even after checking everything, there was no note to be found.

However, from the address, Yunyi could tell it wasn’t sent by the Gu or Hua families, and looking at these items, she was a bit puzzled.

Just then, someone came running to her. ”Doctor Chu, there’s a call for you from the main office.”

Yunyi responded, ”Okay, I’ll go right away.”

The person added, ”No rush. They said they’d call back in ten more minutes. I jogged over to tell you.”

Yunyi locked the door and followed the person toward the main office. She hadn’t been there long when the phone rang.

She took the phone from a staff member. ”Hello, this is Chuyunyi.”

”Yiyi, it’s me, Jingrui.”

”Why are you calling?”

”I forgot to tell you, my mom sent you a parcel. It should have arrived at the Agricultural Reclamation Group a while ago. You should go ask about it.”

”Doctor Qiu told me. I just brought it home after work and looked at it. I was just wondering who sent it.”

”How is it? Do you like the things? If not, I can buy you other things later.”

”Did you tell your family about us?”

”Since we’ve confirmed our relationship, of course, I told my family. Don’t worry, my mom is very easy to get along with. You see, as soon as she found out, she started arranging to send you things.”

”Did you tell Auntie my sizes?”

”My mom asked roughly about your height and weight. How are they? I heard she bought a few items of clothing. Do they fit?”

”I just opened the package and haven’t had a chance to try them on yet, but they look like they’ll be about right. Please thank Auntie for me.”

As she said this, she was thinking that she would need to prepare some gifts in return.
