Chapter 444: Troubles Come One After Another

Early the next morning, Yang Yi was taking Xixi to kindergarten, but just after his car drove out of the gates of Jiangcheng Media University, Yang Yi noticed two groups of people following him.

Yang Yi frowned. Although he knew they were paparazzi and not dangerous, no matter what, it was still a very annoying matter.

“Looks like I have to change cars!” Yang Yi knew that his Tyrant Wolf was now too conspicuous a target. It would be better to buy a more ordinary sedan, which would also make his travels more convenient. No, perhaps he should buy several at once and take turns driving them. That should be enough to leave those paparazzi confused!

As for what to do with Tyrant Wolf after buying a new car, throwing it away was of course impossible. Yang Yi planned to leave it for Ding Xiang, who was learning to drive, to use for buying “groceries” (buying coffee beans).

“Not only do I need to change cars, I need to move too!” Yang Yi thought as he pressed the accelerator, weaving through the lanes during the morning rush hour and shaking off the two groups of paparazzi following him.

The media were now even more interested in Yang Yi, the novelist who could write songs, than they were in Mo Fei. Within just two days, they’d dug up the short film1Fairy Tale again, and the deeply hidden details in it were finally discovered.

For example, the names Yang Yi and Mu Li’ang appeared in the same frame for the first time, but no one had previously thought that these two names were actually the same person!

For example, Yang Yi and Xixi had both made brief cameo appearances in the short film. Their appearances lasted only a moment, and most people had overlooked the father and daughter casually appearing in the hospital.

For example, there was also a shot of Xu Shishi looking at a fairy-tale storybook, and the camera even gave a close-up of the book’s cover. Now everyone knows that it was Xixi’s Bedtime Stories, written by Yang Yi, but at the time, many people were too busy laughing at Xu Shishi complaining to A’Guang, “You’re so fat, you can’t possibly be my prince!”

So now, the paparazzi weren’t just lying in wait for Mo Fei, but also for Yang Yi. According to the highly vigilant Yang Huan, several groups of strange people had appeared at the coffee shop over the past few days.

So, Yang Yi couldn’t continue living in this small building. Otherwise, those paparazzi who could get into every crack might even come and rummage through their trash cans.

It was all the trouble caused by Du Lun! Whenever Yang Yi thought of him, he gritted his teeth in hatred.

But for now, he was still hesitating over whether he should cross the law once in this world.

Du Lun did not deserve death, but Yang Yi had his own set of standards for judging such things. He could ignore Guo Ziyi’s nagging, and he could ignore Ju Jie’s brainlessness, because both of these people were people with principles. Du Lun, on the contrary, was exactly the opposite!

He was far too unprincipled in the way he did things!

Ju Jie was his employer, yet Du Lun could actually set Ju Jie up just for money. Yang Yi could predict that if he handed Du Lun over to Ju Jie to deal with, Ju Jie might not handle it properly and could instead be bitten by Du Lun.

If Ju Jie were the one to suffer, Yang Yi wouldn’t really care too much. After all, that was Ju Jie’s own business. But the problem was that Yang Yi had a deal with Ju Jie. If Du Lun exposed this matter to the media, or sold the information to the media for money, the ones most affected would still be Yang Yi and Mo Fei.

That was why Yang Yi was still holding onto the recording instead of handing it over.

And Du Lun’s eventual fate was still something Yang Yi hadn’t decided.

If it were in his previous life, Yang Yi would definitely have killed without the slightest hesitation. But now, was it necessary to take such a risk?

Of course, if he really decided to kill him, Yang Yi was still confident that he could leave no trace behind. Besides, he had absolutely no connection to Du Lun, so there was no reason for anyone to suspect him.

However, Yang Yi was afraid that once he took action, he would never be able to return to his current simple and happy life. There was a hurdle in his heart that he found difficult to overcome.

“Hehe, Papa, that was so cool!” The little girl’s innocent laughter brought Yang Yi back to reality.

It turned out that Xixi had seen Yang Yi constantly changing lanes and overtaking other cars just now. She especially liked the feeling of the car moving nimbly through the flow of traffic like a fish, so she had been leaning against the car window and watching the whole time.

“Do you like it when Papa drives fast?” Yang Yi glanced at his daughter in the child safety seat in the back through the rearview mirror, smiled slightly, and asked.

“I like it when Papa drives really fast. Then we can quickly go past that little car, biu!” Xixi turned her head to look back at her father and gestured earnestly as she spoke.

Yang Yi laughed heartily and said, “Why ‘biu’? Why not ‘whoosh’?”

Xixi was amused by her father’s sound effect and giggled, “I don’t know either! Hehe…”

After arriving at the kindergarten, the environment was a little more peaceful. Although the few teachers also looked at Yang Yi with sparkling eyes, they didn’t affect the children’s schooling. After welcoming Xixi, they only then asked a little embarrassedly in a low voice, “Yang Xi’s father, are you really Mo Fei’s husband?”

Yang Yi nodded helplessly and said, “The media have been harassing us a lot right now, so please help keep this confidential and protect my daughter.”

“Please rest assured, we definitely won’t tell anyone! Besides, it’s impossible for strangers to get into our kindergarten.” Teacher Shen and Teacher Cai said excitedly.

After all, it was a prestigious kindergarten, and whether in terms of teaching staff or management facilities, it was a step above ordinary kindergartens. Even a wealthy man like Lan Zhoukai, who normally had bodyguards constantly by his side, arranged for his daughter to attend school here, which showed that the kindergarten’s security was enough to put Yang Yi at ease.

Yang Yi nodded at them, then drove away.

While he was still on the road, Yang Yi received a call from Mo Fei.

“What’s wrong? Weren’t you supposed to come back tomorrow?” Yang Yi asked in surprise.

However, on the other end of the phone, Mo Xiaojuan was trying to speak first: “Let me say it, let me say it!”

Mo Fei had no choice but to turn on the speakerphone.

“Ahem, brother-in-law, I have two pieces of good news and two pieces of bad news to tell you! Which one do you want to hear?” Mo Xiaojuan said seriously.

Yang Yi was speechless for a moment and said, “What’s going on?”

“Tell me which one do you want to hear first.”

How good could the good news possibly be? And how bad could the bad news be? Yang Yi felt that he could remain calm no matter what happened. The bad news that Mo Xiaojuan could come up with simply couldn’t scare him.

“Then let’s hear a piece of bad news first…” Yang Yi said helplessly as he drove.

(Don’t use your phone while driving, ahem. Everyone, please don’t imitate him.)2

“The first piece of bad news is that the news of you and my sister getting married has reached the United States, and was found out by Uncle and Aunt… Hmm, that is, your father-in-law and mother-in-law!”

Yang Yi’s heart sank. Fortunately, he had good psychological composure and didn’t suddenly slam on the brakes and cause the car behind him to rear-end him. But such bad news still made Yang Yi nervous, and his earlier confidence had long since vanished.

“Really?” Yang Yi took a deep breath before asking.

He pulled the car over to the side of the road, afraid there might be some even bigger shock waiting for him!

“Really, why would I lie to you? Besides, you said your relationship has already been exposed for so many days. Isn’t it normal for my uncle and aunt to know about it?” Mo Xiaojuan said.

“Then what’s the good news?” Yang Yi asked with a frown.

“The first piece of good news is that, thanks to me putting in a good word for you, my aunt actually has a pretty good impression of you! So, when my uncle was really about to bring a shotgun back to China to deal with you, my aunt stopped him! Oh, right, that’s the second piece of good news!” Mo Xiaojuan said mysteriously.

Stopped him? That’s good… Yang Yi breathed a sigh of relief. Just thinking about facing his father-in-law made his head ache.

“Then what’s the other piece of bad news?” Yang Yi asked somewhat impatiently.

“Oh, the other piece of bad news… My aunt only stopped him from bringing the shotgun. She couldn’t stop my uncle. He still got on a plane back to China…” Mo Xiaojuan said with an awkward smile.

Holy crap! Yang Yi’s head started aching again. If she couldn’t stop the man, then what was the point of calling that a piece of good news?!

At this moment, Mo Fei took the phone back, and her voice, filled with guilt, came through: “Yang Yi, I’m sorry. I forgot about my parents these past few days, and I really didn’t expect them to find out so quickly.”

Yang Yi shook his head with a bitter smile and comforted Mo Fei, saying, “It’s okay. We have to face it sooner or later anyway! But don’t worry, you told me last time that your father’s blood pressure was a little high. I won’t provoke him. If he wants to hit or scold me, I’ll let him. I guarantee I can calm your father down.”

“It’s my fault. I still haven’t thought of a way to solve this, which is why my father is still so angry,” Mo Fei hurriedly said. “I’ll come back tonight as soon as I finish my event. We’ll face my father together, okay?”

“Mm. I’ll listen to you!” Yang Yi exchanged sweet words with Mo Fei for quite a while before hanging up the phone.

His father-in-law was coming to deal with him, and Yang Yi was now somewhat at a loss. He had no experience at all in dealing with a father-in-law.

But Yang Yi forced himself to calm down.

Troubles really were coming one after another. No, he had to deal with Du Lun’s problem first. Otherwise, once he had to face Mo Fei’s father in the next day or two, he wouldn’t have any time to deal with this scumbag!

A sharp glint flashed in Yang Yi’s eyes.

He finally made up his mind.
