Chapter 422: Mo Fei’s Reversal

“Guo Ziyi, it is already noon. Why are you still unwilling to return to the dormitory? Are you planning to sneak into some girl’s rented apartment again?” Yang Yi said, half teasing and half warning, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.

Guo Ziyi shivered slightly and quickly forced a smile, saying, “No way. I am just chatting with Sister Ding Xiang here! I am planning to ask her to go to the canteen for lunch together, and then we go our separate ways.”

“Big brother, we were just talking about talent agencies! Those agencies these days are especially unreliable—Xiao Guo is worried about running into another company like Ronghuada that wastes people’s youth,” Yang Huan said bluntly, getting straight to the point.

At the mention of this, Mo Fei felt a little uneasy in her heart. She did not know how to evaluate the Tianmei agency she had worked for before, so she smiled and said to Yang Huan and the others, “I’ll take Xixi to wash her hands first. You guys continue chatting.”

Ding Xiang brought out a plate of cookies that had been placed in the warming cabinet earlier. She winked at Xixi and said with a smile, “Xixi, go wash your hands quickly. You can eat cookies later. Sister Ding Xiang and Aunt Huanhuan just baked them!”

Xixi’s eyes lit up. She stood on her tiptoes, trying to get a better look at the plate, and asked, “Are they little bear cookies?”

The “little bear cookies” Xixi mentioned were not the filled bear-shaped cookies from Yang Yi’s previous life. Instead, they were made by Ding Xiang, who had carefully designed a bear-shaped mold. Cookies baked using this mold still showed a cute bear face, and they were Xixi’s favorite.

“Of course. I know these are your favorite!” Ding Xiang picked up a cookie and shook it gently.

“Hehe, then wait for me to come back!” The little girl hurriedly dragged her mother’s hand and ran toward the bathroom. “Mama, I want cookies. Let’s go wash our hands quickly!”

Meanwhile, Guo Ziyi watched enviously. He stretched out his hand and said, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier that you made cookies? I’m starving.”

However, Ding Xiang slapped his hand away and said with an exasperated smile, “You can’t eat them yet. These are baked for Xixi. After Xixi finishes, then it’ll be your turn!”

Yang Huan, however, eagerly continued the topic from earlier and said, “Big brother, aren’t you and sister-in-law opening a studio? Can you sign Xiao Guo too? That way he won’t get tricked by some talent agency.”

Guo Ziyi scratched his head awkwardly, not knowing what to say. Although he felt a little embarrassed, he really did want to sign under Yang Yi’s studio, because Ding Xiang was right—Yang Yi wouldn’t cheat him, and there wouldn’t be too many restrictions. He would be able to choose the films he wanted to act in. That was one of the reasons Guo Ziyi hadn’t considered those film companies before.

However, Yang Yi thought Yang Huan was just joking around and making a fuss. He frowned and reproached her, saying, “Stop messing around. Guo Ziyi has his own choice. Don’t give others random advice. Besides, the studio that Mo Fei and I opened is mainly created for Mo Fei. What capital do we have to sign others? Someone like Guo Ziyi—if he’s going to act in movies—it would be better for him to have a stronger agency that can provide more support.”

The situation became awkward.

Yang Yi’s meaning was very clear: In the future, the studio named Fei Yi Dreams would be dedicated solely to serving Mo Fei. Even Yang Yi himself would only be writing songs for her and lending his name to the studio. Even the role of music producer had already been reserved for the invited Jin Yingming.

The entire studio would have only one artist—Mo Fei.

Yang Huan was a little unconvinced. She said, “But what if it were me debuting in the future? Would you just stand by and do nothing too? What if I get fooled by those scam companies?”

“You’re still a long way from debuting. When it really comes to your turn, we can help you choose slowly. Don’t you still lack experience right now? If you’re talking about singing, I can recommend a company for you and Xiao Guo. Tianxiang Records in Hong Kong is pretty good—it’s the big company where Chen Yijie is signed, and they also do business in the mainland. But if we’re talking about acting, not to mention me—even your sister-in-law wouldn’t know where to start,” Yang Yi said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

This was the honest truth.

“It is okay. I am not in a hurry. I can look again later,” Guo Ziyi was worried the siblings might argue, so he quickly waved his hands and said.

At that moment, Xixi ran out from the bathroom. The little girl had just washed her hands and also rinsed off the mud from her rubber shoes. She came out with soft pat-pat sounds as she splashed along in her wet shoes.

“Xixi, your shoes are not wiped dry! You are leaving water marks everywhere. Your papa is going to spank you later!” Mo Fei’s voice came from the bathroom.

“Hehe, hehe!” The little girl didn’t care at all. She giggled mischievously and ran over to the bar counter.

“It’s okay, I’ll wipe it,” Ding Xiang quickly said.

“Sister Ding Xiang, I’ll do it,” Yang Huan said, rushing to take over.

Xixi climbed up her father’s legs and into his arms.

“Papa’s hands are dirty, be careful!” Yang Yi could only use his palms and arms to support her, afraid his daughter might fall.

Xixi mischievously stuffed her still slightly damp little hands into her father’s neck, then giggled and said, “Papa, look—doesn’t it feel cool? The water is so cold!”

Yang Yi chuckled and gently bumped his forehead against his daughter’s little head, saying, “You’re really naughty—you froze yourself and now you’re freezing Papa too!”

“This is sharing!” Xixi laughed so hard she was rocking back and forth.

After playing around, she turned around and reached for a cookie from the plate.

Ding Xiang timely handed over a freshly prepared cup of milk and said with a smile, “Milk with cookies—that’s the most delicious combination!”

“Shouldn’t you say something?” Yang Yi reminded the little girl, who was busy eating.

“Thank you, Sister Ding Xiang!” The little girl said, her mouth stuffed full of cookies, her words slightly muffled.

Guo Ziyi was completely unaffected by what had happened earlier. He looked at Ding Xiang pitifully and said, “I want some too!”

“Everyone gets a share!” Ding Xiang said, rolling her eyes at him, half amused and half annoyed, then poured him a cup of milk as well.

“I am talking about cookies!” Guo Ziyi shouted.

“Then you’ll have to ask Xixi!” Ding Xiang said with a smile.

Xixi blinked her big eyes. Before Uncle Guo could even speak, she picked up a cookie and handed it to Guo Ziyi. “Uncle Guo, you can have one too!”

“Hehe, Xixi is still the best!” Guo Ziyi said happily.

Just then, Mo Fei came out of the bathroom. Earlier, while Yang Huan had been wiping the floor with the mop, she had taken the chance to complain to her.

“Just now, Huanhuan told me about Xiao Guo wanting to join our studio.” Mo Fei sat down beside Yang Yi. She first smiled at Ding Xiang, who had brought her a cup of milk, then said to Yang Yi, “I don’t think there’s any problem with that. Everyone working together and striving toward our dreams—wouldn’t that be fun?”

Yang Yi said with some hesitation, “But this studio was opened for you! Besides, our studio only has a few people. We only have one agent, Mo Xiaojuan. How could we possibly handle all that?”

He still couldn’t quite wrap his head around it.

Mo Fei knew Yang Yi quite well and understood his little thoughts. She smiled and said, “That’s easy to solve! You can open another talent agency to sign some like-minded friends, and then let our studio be affiliated with that company. It doesn’t really matter whether we make money or not. As long as everyone can do what they like together, isn’t that enough?”

Since Yang Yi wanted the studio to belong exclusively to the two of them, they could simply keep the studio and open another company outside of it. Mo Fei was indeed being a bit idealistic, but it wasn’t impossible. After all, as long as they weren’t focused on profit, it wouldn’t be easy to hurt their relationships.

“As for agents, that’s easy to solve. Xiaojuan is already planning to learn from Sister Ling—not the bad parts, but the management knowledge and how big agencies operate. In the future, my agent will also be replaced. We can train a newcomer, and if Xiao Guo and Huanhuan join us, we can also cultivate more agents so they can grow together with Xiao Guo and Huanhuan.”

Mo Fei smiled and pointed at Ding Xiang, saying, “I think Xiao Ding is very suitable to be an agent. She is very kind and knows how to take care of people. A scatterbrain like Xiao Guo really needs someone like Xiao Ding to keep him in check.”

This remark made Yang Yi and Guo Ziyi stunned for a moment.

Ding Xiang blushed deeply and waved her hands quickly, saying, “No, no, that won’t work! I’m not cut out to be an agent at all!”
