Chapter 433: Mo Fei’s Decision

Sometimes, Yang Yi really could be a little stubborn!

His real identity was being suppressed by his own alter ego. Although it was essentially the same as his left hand fighting his right hand, Yang Yi still felt rather displeased!

After all, his real identity had created quite a few classic works.

The two physical bestselling books, “Soldier Assault” and “Drawing Sword”, had both broken into the top ten of the previous year’s year-end sales rankings. Meanwhile, the serialized online novels “Yu Sin” and “Prison Break” were still standing strong on Qiyue’s various major rankings, with “Prison Break” being the undisputed number one!

There were also “Xixi’s Bedtime Stories”, “Journey Under the Midnight Sun”, and other works. Even the screenwriter of the recently hugely popular microfilm “Fairy Tale” was credited under his real name!

How did he become an unknown nobody in these people’s mouths?

Indeed, his real identity had rarely appeared in public and had only attended one military-region event. But hadn’t Mu Li’ang never shown his face either?

For some reason, Yang Yi suddenly remembered what Old Master Chen Fengchen had said when he had previously tried to persuade him to attend the press conference for “Soldier Assault”: “As the saying goes, it’s best to become famous while you’re still young. Xiao Yang, don’t you young people have any awareness of this? This is no longer an era when good wine doesn’t fear a deep alley. The more you resist interacting with the public, the more the public will resist getting to know you and your work. In the end, even the best works will lose their brilliance…”

Although Chen Fengchen’s purpose in saying those things had been to create more publicity for the show, Yang Yi now realized that the old man had truly spoken a prophecy. By keeping his identity hidden, he had really become an unknown nobody.

No, Yang Yi was unwilling to accept this!

“I’ve decided!” Yang Yi had been silently pondering things when Mo Fei suddenly spoke up.

“Decided what?” Mo Xiaojuan asked curiously.

“Since it has already been exposed by the media, and everyone has so many misunderstandings, I’ve decided to make everything completely public. At tomorrow’s concert, I’ll tell them the truth myself,” Mo Fei said.

Yang Yi was stunned for a moment. He hadn’t expected Mo Fei to suddenly become so decisive. Just now, after she learned that they had been exposed, she had still looked completely lost. Could she have been affected by those fans’ comments?

“I thought you wanted to make it public directly on Weibo,” Mo Xiaojuan said with a smile.

“I’ll announce it on Weibo too, after the concert,” Mo Fei nodded.

After all, it was still a new thing, and everyone had not yet fully understood the proper way to use Weibo as a channel for releasing information. More often, they still used reporters and the media as channels, or directly held press conferences. Mo Xiaojuan being able to think of using Weibo meant that she had vaguely grasped some of its essence.

Mo Fei bit her lower lip, looked at Yang Yi, and said with some difficulty, “Yang Yi, can you accompany me onto the concert stage tomorrow? I want to take this opportunity to introduce you to everyone, tell them that you’re Mu Li’ang, and tell them that I won’t allow them to say these things about you. You are the best!”

Mo Fei was bit nervous. She knew that Yang Yi did not like appearing in public, and he had even said last night that he did not want to make his debut. Would he be willing to go onstage with her?

However, Mo Fei’s words warmed Yang Yi’s heart. Not only did he not refuse, but he also looked into Mo Fei’s beautiful eyes and said gently, “Of course. How could I let you face this alone?”

However, since Mo Fei was not going to make the official announcement until tomorrow evening, Yang Yi started pondering things over again.

There were still nearly two days left. Yang Yi felt that he could use this time to stir things up a little!

Beside them, Mo Xiaojuan, who had been stuffed full of “dog food,” rolled her eyes around. Actually, Mo Xiaojuan had once been just like those fans; no matter how she looked at Yang Yi, she found him annoying. But now, as she got to know him more and more deeply…

In Mo Xiaojuan’s eyes, Yang Yi and Mo Fei were like a perfect couple made for each other. They were exceptionally well matched!

“Let these people properly recognize their own short-sightedness!” Mo Xiaojuan thought to herself.

She smiled mischievously and said, “Sis, Brother-in-law, I think that rather than going up there and talking for a while, you should instead sing a song together first, and then make the introduction. That would be more convincing, and it would give them an even greater shock!”

Yang Yi and Mo Fei were both stunned for a moment, and they exchanged a glance.

Mo Fei’s eyes were filled with eager anticipation. She really wanted to sing with Yang Yi, but she was worried that Yang Yi might refuse. Like a young girl who was about to confess her feelings, she nervousely asked, “Is it okay?”

Yang Yi smiled and said, “I think we can do that!”

“But what song should we sing?” Mo Fei asked happily. “It seems like it’s not easy to choose a song for the two of us to sing together! I Came Across the Sea to See You? Or In My Singing?”

Yang Yi smiled slightly and said, “Actually, among the songs I sang for you before, there’s one that would be very suitable for a man and woman to sing together.”

“Really? Which one?” Mo Fei asked excitedly.

If it was a song Yang Yi had sung for her before, Mo Fei had basically learned it from Yang Yi as well, which would reduce the trouble of learning it.

Mo Xiaojuan looked at her watch and said, “Hey, don’t discuss it here. Why don’t you just go directly to the concert venue? This newly added program needs to be discussed with the director, and you need to rehearse with the band. You might as well rehearse it all together!”

After hearing this, Mo Fei looked at Yang Yi apologetically and said, “I’m sorry. This might interfere with your travel plans today, but we want to give the audience a good performance, so it’s still very necessary to rehearse beforehand. And you also need to get a feel for the stage in advance…”

Now, Mo Fei no longer doubted Yang Yi’s singing ability. Yang Yi’s voice was even more extraordinary than hers, and under her guidance, his singing skills had also improved greatly. But going onstage and singing in front of more than 40,000 spectators was a completely different matter from singing at home. Not to mention Yang Yi, even when Mo Fei had held her first concert, she had been so nervous that her legs had gone weak. At that time, she had already been far from a rookie singer!

“I’ll follow your arrangements,” Yang Yi said with a slight smile.

However, how to get out now was a problem! The hotel had already been surrounded by reporters and paparazzi! Yang Yi couldn’t possibly walk out as casually as he had yesterday, right in front of the reporters.

They weren’t blind, after all! By now, Yang Yi’s face was even more recognizable to reporters than that of a wanted criminal!

But there was still a way!

The reporters could block the hotel’s main entrance, but they could not block the entrance and exit of the hotel’s underground parking lot.

An hour later, an inconspicuous black sedan slowly drove out of the hotel’s underground parking lot. The paparazzi waiting nearby took a look and saw that it wasn’t Mo Fei’s nanny car, and that the driver was just an ordinary man, so they lost interest and turned their attention to the other cars coming out behind it.

However, after the car had driven past an intersection, a blanket on the passenger seat lifted on its own, revealing a man who had sat upright. If anyone had looked carefully, they would have discovered that it was Yang Yi, who was currently at the center of the storm.

At this moment, three heads also poked out from behind the front seats in the back row, one of them a little head. Perhaps because she had been hidden in her mother’s arms for quite a while, Xixi’s hair was a little messy, but her curiosity was even greater. She immediately poked her little head out through the middle and looked outside.

“Are we good?” Mo Fei asked softly.

“We’re good!” Yang Yi nodded.

Xixi had held it in for a long time, and now the little girl could finally speak. She pretended to take big, deep breaths, but then she could no longer keep up the act and giggled, “Oh, I was almost suffocating! Papa, are we playing hide-and-seek?”

“Shh!” Mo Fei raised her index finger toward Xixi.

Xixi covered her little mouth again, but there was still a smile in her eyes. She thought it was very fun.

Yang Yi didn’t have time to talk to Xixi. At the next intersection, after making sure there were no cars following them, Yang Yi asked the driver to pull over.

He and the driver both got out of the car. He shook the other man’s hand, slipped him some extra money for his trouble, and asked him to keep it confidential.

Then, Yang Yi got into the driver’s seat and drove Mo Fei and the others toward the stadium where the concert was being held.
