Chapter 430: Love Everywhere

Mo Fei was indeed very busy. She had been at the Shanghai concert venue doing a site rehearsal, checking the lighting, stage lifts, and other facilities together with the company representatives, and they had been busy with it until after eight in the evening.

“Sis, should we go have dinner first?” Mo Xiaojuan sat in the nanny van rented by the company and glanced at Mo Fei worriedly.

In the evening, Mo Xiaojuan did manage to find some time to buy coffee and snacks, but Mo Fei only ate an egg tart to fill her stomach a little before continuing to do a sound check with the band. After that, she did not eat a single grain of rice.

Not to mention Mo Fei, Mo Xiaojuan had already finished the remaining snacks. She had not expected the first day of site inspection to take so much time, but now even she felt a little hungry.

Mo Fei glanced at the driver, shook her head gently, and said to Mo Xiaojuan, “Let’s talk about it after we get back to the hotel.”

Mo Xiaojuan understood, and she said with a grin, “Then I’ll go back to the hotel, find somewhere to take care of it myself, and come back later tonight.”

“Why do you have to go on your own?” Mo Fei said reproachfully. She lowered her voice and whispered into Mo Xiaojuan’s ear, “Yang Yi bought your share too!”

Mo Xiaojuan held onto Mo Fei’s hand, smiled mischievously, and also leaned close to Mo Fei’s ear, saying, “I’m just creating some space for you!”

Mo Xiaojuan was overthinking it. Not to mention that Xixi was still awake at this time, even if Xixi had been asleep, Yang Yi would not have done anything with Mo Fei at a time like this. After all, the concert was the day after tomorrow—what if he made her throat go hoarse?

There were still several reporters waiting outside the hotel. As soon as they saw Mo Fei return, they swarmed toward her.

“There are widespread rumors online that you and Mu Li’ang are a couple. Mo Fei, what is your response to this?”

“Mo Fei, regarding the concert the day after tomorrow…”

The microphones were all shoved over. Fortunately, Mo Xiaojuan handled it skillfully. She and the driver raised their hands, protecting Mo Fei between them. Only after they squeezed into the hotel and the security guards stopped those reporters were they finally able to have some peace.

Of course, along the way, Mo Fei and Mo Xiaojuan remained silent. Walls have ears; who knows if anyone was listening in on the elevator?

Mo Fei and Mo Xiaojuan went back to their room first, but as soon as Mo Fei opened the door, she saw bright lights and heard the sound of cartoons from the television.

Have they already come over by themselves?

Mo Fei hurriedly called Mo Xiaojuan inside and closed the door, afraid that someone might notice them.

Mo Fei had just turned around when Yang Yi came out to greet them from the hotel room, looked at them with a smile, and said, “You’re only back this late? Have you eaten dinner?”

“Mama!” A sweet voice also came over.

Only then did Mo Fei see Xixi poking her little head out from beside the wall. The little girl was leaning against the side of the bed, trying hard to stretch her head out to look at her mother.

“Mama, I’m watching TV!” Xixi called out happily before pulling her head back in. The position had been a little uncomfortable, and the little girl was also still thinking about the cartoon on TV, so she couldn’t wait to turn her head back and continue watching.

At this moment, Mo Xiaojuan pushed the inner lock on the door shut to prevent anyone outside from pushing it open, then said with a grin, “Brother-in-law, my sister has been so busy that she hasn’t even had time to eat. The moment she heard you’d brought her something delicious, she rushed back in a hurry!”

“Xiaojuan didn’t eat dinner either.”

“Yes, yes, I’m starving to death. Brother-in-law, what delicious food did you bring?” Mo Xiaojuan excitedly came over.

When Yang Yi heard that Mo Fei had not eaten dinner, he quickly opened the insulated bag he had brought back and said, “They’re all some local Shanghai dishes—Shanghai-style spare ribs, vegetarian duck, tofu-skin-wrapped meat, and a serving of mushroom and crispy-rice soup. There was originally some other delicious food too, like soup dumplings and xiaolongbao, but they probably wouldn’t taste as good after being brought back. So, I thought that if you two don’t have to leave too early for rehearsal tomorrow, we can go out together and have some authentic Shanghai breakfast!”

“What’s in this bag?” Mo Xiaojuan curiously pointed at a bag beside it. It didn’t need an insulated bag, but it could still be seen that takeaway containers had been used.

“Oh, these are desserts. You can eat them after you finish your meal! There’s strawberry Napoleon, and also walnut pie,” Yang Yi said with a smile.

Xixi heard the name. Although she was still watching the television, she couldn’t help but speak up, “Mama, strawberry Napoleon is delicious! Super delicious!”

The little girl was watching TV while also recommending the dessert to her mother, as if doing both at once was quite hard work.

Yang Yi smiled and said to Mo Fei, “She really liked it. She ate an entire mille-feuille in one go, and as a result, afterward she couldn’t eat any of the other delicious food. Actually, the walnut pie is also pretty good. It’s covered with walnuts, but she wasn’t lucky enough to enjoy it.”

Mo Fei looked at Yang Yi with a mournful expression and said sadly, “You brought me so much food, and you’re even tempting me with such a high-calorie cake. What if I eat it all and gain weight again?”

Recently, Mo Fei had been very worried about this problem. Her figure had always been very standard, and she was also one of those people who supposedly could eat without gaining weight, so she rarely stepped on a scale. But last week, because she was staying at home with nothing to do, she bought an electronic scale online from the Sahara Online Mall.

As a result, she discovered that after getting together with Yang Yi, she had actually gained a full six jin! 1

She had weighed 107 jin when she underwent the company’s physical examination before her comeback, but now she weighed 113 jin!

Mo Fei panicked. She complained that Yang Yi was always making delicious food for her, while also pestering Yang Yi to take her out exercising in the mornings so she could lose weight.

“What’s there to be afraid of if you gain weight? Even if you become a chubby girl, I’ll still take care of you!” Yang Yi said with a laugh.

“No, no! I don’t want to become a chubby girl!” Mo Fei cried out.

Mo Xiaojuan had already snapped apart a pair of disposable chopsticks with her teeth and right hand, while her left hand rummaged through the insulated bag, and called out, “Hey, Mo Fei, are you still showing off your affection? If you ignore me, I’m going to finish your dinner too!”

Anyway, Mo Fei had already made up her mind not to eat dessert tonight, while Mo Xiaojuan happily took all the desserts for herself. She wasn’t afraid of gaining weight, and she often ran around with Mo Fei from place to place. Would she still be afraid that she couldn’t lose weight?

They chatted with Yang Yi while eating.

With her mouth stuffed full, Mo Xiaojuan mumbled as she asked, “Brother-in-law, are you planning to make your debut too after my sister’s contract with Tianmei ends and she goes to the studio?”

Mo Fei’s eyes lit up as she looked at Yang Yi. Although Mo Fei understood Yang Yi’s personality quite well, she still held onto a little hope.. She also wanted Yang Yi to enter the entertainment industry with her so they could support each other and truly run a husband-and-wife business together!

However, Yang Yi shook his head and said, “No. I’ll just stay behind the scenes and write songs for Mo Fei.”

“That’s such a pity!” Mo Xiaojuan exclaimed. “Brother-in-law, you sing really well too! And those songs you sang to my sister, like I Want to Sing Myself to You and Just Happened to Meet You—if you don’t release them, wouldn’t that be such a waste?”

Yang Yi frowned slightly. What Mo Xiaojuan said was not wrong. Those songs carried so many beautiful memories between him and Mo Fei. If he did not sing them himself, he would not be willing to let another singer perform them either!

“Actually, I also quite hope that you can sing with me. But it’s okay, you have your own choice, and I can understand!” Mo Fei reached out her hand and held hands with Yang Yi.

Yang Yi’s thoughts were still somewhat confused. Recently, quite a few people had been persuading him to step into the public eye: Du Yuanlei, his readers, the editors at Sahara Publishing House, as well as Mo Xiaojuan and Lan Zhoukai.

He indeed did not want to live a life of being the focus of people’s attention. Perhaps it was because of some psychological effects from what he had experienced in his previous life, but to be honest, his current life was also slowly changing some of his original views.

And just as Lan Zhoukai had said, he wanted to keep a low profile, but with such a wife, was it possible for him to keep a low profile? And Lan Zhoukai had also been right about one other thing: human beings were social creatures. In this society, he could never completely isolate himself from other people’s eyes.

Unless he abandoned his wife and child and lived in seclusion in the mountains and wilderness all by himself.

That, of course, was impossible!

However, Mo Fei’s words still made Yang Yi feel warm in his heart. He gently squeezed Mo Fei’s hand, smiled slightly, and said, “Let me think it over carefully again! It’s still early now, there’s no need to rush.”

However, plans never keep up with changes…
