Chapter 419: Help Him Find It

For now, there was no need to worry about those messy things. In the evening, Yang Yi went to the kindergarten to pick up Xixi.

The little girl was very concerned about Xiao Guai and the others. Even the topic she discussed with her friends today was about them. So, when Yang Yi picked up Xixi at the kindergarten, he was surrounded by a group of worried children, like Yang Luoqi and Lan Xin, who said with concern, “Uncle Yang, you have to buy Xiao Guai some delicious food so that he can get better soon!”

After returning home, Xixi greeted her mother, then lifted the hem of her little dress and hurried to the living room.

“Meow!” Xiao Guai now knew the kindness of his little master. As soon as he saw her, he jumped down from the cat tower, lifted his round face covered with the Elizabethan collar, and let out a pitiful meow.

“Xiao Guai, are you feeling better?” Xixi gathered her skirt into her arms, squatted down, furrowed her brows with worry, and stroked Xiao Guai’s head.

“Meow…” Xiao Guai rubbed his head against his little master’s palm. His big round face had a kind of simple appearance. Although British Shorthair’s expression was not as rich as that of other cats, he still managed to win Xixi’s affection with his weak meow.

Seeing Xiao Guai being petted so comfortably, Xiao Hui also jumped down from the nearby sofa, his tail raised and curling toward his little master’s arm.

Duoduo was a female cat, and her recovery period would be longer than that of male cats, so she was still lazily lying on the cat tower, only lifting her head for a glance.

“They are fine now. We could have taken off this cover at noon, but we waited until you came back.” Yang Yi put down his daughter’s schoolbag and said with a smile.

Meanwhile, Mo Fei took out a pair of scissors and handed them to Yang Yi.

Coincidentally, Xiao Guai had already lain down on the floor, saving Yang Yi the trouble. He directly held him down, ready to start.

Xiao Guai might still have some trauma from the operation. When Yang Yi held him down, he struggled nervously.

“It’s okay, it’s okay. I just want to help you take off this cover.” Yang Yi had to stroke his fur first to calm him down.

Xixi squatted nervously next to her father, watching intently and said with some concern, “Papa, be gentle, don’t hurt Xiao Guai.”

Yang Yi smiled and said, “How could I? Look!”

The Elizabethan collar was actually easy to take off. There was no need for scissors. Yang Yi just needed to tear off the Velcro, and the collar was removed from Xiao Guai’s head.

After taking it off, Xiao Guai still felt a bit uncomfortable, just like when it was first put on. He twisted his head, feeling like something was missing. But the feeling of freedom was good, and Xiao Guai became restless, wanting to get up and move around!

“Not yet, we still need to take off your cat pants.” Mo Fei quickly helped soothe the little one.

The “cat pants” were actually just gauze bandages. To prevent Xiao Guai from wriggling out of them, Yang Yi had tied a tight knot. Now that they had served their purpose, Yang Yi snipped them with the scissors, and with a single pull, the entire gauze came off.

“Is it done?” Seeing Xiao Guai had returned to his original appearance, Xixi finally felt a bit relieved and asked anxiously.

Yang Yi released his hand pressing on Xiao Guai, patted his back, and said with a smile, “It’s done. Go play with him, but still be careful not to let him scratch you!”

“Xiao Guai would never scratch me!” Xixi pouted and said unconvincedly, “Xiao Guai is so well-behaved!”

Yang Yi still wanted to check on his recovery, so he didn’t rush to free the next cat. Instead, he watched with concern.

Xiao Guai shook his body and stood up comfortably. Of course, he was still a bit unsteady as he adjusted to walking normally again, his steps slightly wobbly. Being clever, he simply rubbed against Xixi’s legs, weaving in and out around her feet.

“Heehee, Xiao Guai is all better!” Seeing her little cat lively and energetic again, Xixi’s worries finally disappeared, and the little girl revealed a bright smile.

Looking at the little girl smiling with squinted eyes and a wide grin, she really looked like a little angel!

“Meow!” Xiao Guai raised his head and meowed at his little master as if he understood her.

Seeing Xixi and Xiao Guai playing happily, and Xiao Guai showing no abnormalities, Yang Yi felt relieved. He then stood up and went to grab Xiao Hui.

Xiao Hui was a little afraid of this “litter-cleaning servant.” When he saw Yang Yi coming over, he wanted to hide, but he was no match for Yang Yi’s quick reflexes. Just as he jumped away, he was caught mid-air by Yang Yi’s big hand.

Then, Yang Yi grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and brought him back.

“Xiao Hui is getting more and more mischievous.” Mo Fei looked at Xiao Hui, who was still wriggling, and complained with a smile to Yang Yi, “Among the three cats, he is the least clingy. Even when I want to play with him, he ignores me. He’s already forgotten that I was the one who rescued him and even gave him his name!”

“Cats are like that. How many cats will actively get close to people? Xiao Guai is an exception, but even Xiao Guai doesn’t always pay attention to Xixi.” While Yang Yi and Mo Fei were chatting and laughing, they had already removed Xiao Hui’s restraints.

Next was Duoduo. The queen cat didn’t struggle, just lazily glanced at the cat servant, then narrowed her eyes and let Yang Yi remove her Elizabethan collar.

As if everything was only natural, as if Yang Yi was meant to serve her.

Yang Yi skillfully cut open the cat pants while continuing to talk to Mo Fei: “Compared to cats, dogs are much more loyal. In a few more months, when we bring back the dog Xixi chose from our hometown, you will definitely like it.”

“I actually prefer cats. My dad’s farm has a lot of dogs, and they’re really scary. When they stand up, they’re as tall as a person!” Mo Fei said with lingering fear.

“The local dogs at home don’t grow that big, and they’re very obedient. If you tell them to lie down, they’ll lie down.”

“I hope it’s obedient and not too fierce!” Mo Fei said with a playful smile. “Otherwise, if the cats and dogs at home start fighting, there will be no peace!”

“What you said is possible, but it seems like dogs are often bullied by cats.” Yang Yi recalled videos online from his previous life where dogs were bullied by cats several times smaller than them.

While talking, Yang Yi had already finished removing Duoduo’s cat pants. Duoduo slowly strolled back, jumped onto the cat tower, and her posture was still agile, indicating that she might just be lazy and not recovering slowly.

At this time, Xixi came running over in her plastic shoes, making squeaky noises. She anxiously tugged at her father’s hand and called out, “Papa, look, is Xiao Hui sick?”

What’s wrong with Xiao Hui?

Yang Yi and Mo Fei walked over and saw Xiao Hui hiding in the corner. He was lying on a soft cotton cushion, belly up like a person, and looking down at his slightly reddened rear.

Perhaps hearing his master’s movement, he raised his head, looked at his masters, then lowered his head again, reaching out a paw to touch the area.

“Meow!” Xiao Hui raised his head again, looked at his masters with a confused expression, and let out a meow.

Yang Yi and Mo Fei had rather strange expressions on their faces. They looked at each other and could see that both of them were holding back laughter.

Xiao Hui lowered his head to lick the area where he had surgery, but something was clearly off. The spot where his two little “balls” used to be was now as flat as a certain princess’s title.

“Ao…” Xiao Hui raised his head again, seemingly despairing, and let out another meow, which was so desolate.

The meow itself wasn’t anything special, but what was funny was its big round face and that utterly devastated sitting posture. Mo Fei finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and let out a laugh.

“Mama, what’s wrong with Xiao Hui?” Xixi, not understanding what was going on, asked worriedly.

“It’s nothing,” Yang Yi saw Mo Fei laughing so hard that she had to turn away in embarrassment, so he explained, “It probably just realized something is missing and is feeling a bit melancholic.”

“Ah?” Xixi blinked her big eyes in confusion.

“It’s like if your rag doll went missing, you would be sad too!” Yang Yi gave an example, “Don’t worry, cats have a strong adaptability. he will get used to it in a few days!”

With that explanation, Xixi understood. But as the little girl turned to look at Xiao Hui, who seemed to be questioning his cat life, she appeared to be a little moved. She said sadly to her father, “Papa, Xiao Hui lost something. Can you help him find it?”

Yang Yi looked at his daughter, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, truly not knowing how to answer.

Could this thing be found again? Even if it could be found, could it be put back?
