Chapter 409: Mo Fei’s Wonderful Concert

While Yang Yi was at home, nearly breaking down in tears with his daughter over some non-existent reverie, Mo Fei, who was completely unaware of this, was already backstage at the Lianggengcong Stadium in Beijing, waiting for her concert to begin.

“Sister, you have no idea! It’s packed out there! Completely packed! There are so many people!” Mo Xiaojuan, who couldn’t help but sneak out to take a look, came back and excitedly said to Mo Fei.

As soon as she opened the door, the noise from outside rushed in. Only after closing the door did the dressing room regain its calm.

Mo Fei said calmly, “Didn’t we already know that? The tickets were sold out.”

As early as the New Year, the tickets for Mo Fei’s first concert in six years were already sold out. The tickets were in high demand. It was said that after the New Year, the ticket prices for VIP seats had skyrocketed to nearly ten thousand yuan. It was unclear whether this was just a scalper’s marketing gimmick or not, but it seemed they had already made a fortune.

“Hey, Sister, why aren’t you excited? I’m about to burst with excitement!” Mo Xiaojuan jumped up and down, looking as if she were the one about to go on stage.

“I am excited, just not as much as you think.” Mo Fei said calmly with a slight smile, “I’ve been in the industry for over a decade. I’ve held concerts before. There’s no need to get as nervous and anxious as a newcomer.”

“Mo Fei! Mo Fei! Mo Fei!”

After a while, amidst the fans’ repeated chants, Mo Fei finally ascended onto the stage on a lift, appearing slowly before them.

Dressed in a white silk gown reminiscent of ancient Greek robes, with her hair braided in a bohemian style, Mo Fei exuded a wild, exotic beauty! Yet, this beauty, contrasted with her serene demeanor, felt so sacred that it seemed one could only admire her from afar!

Upon seeing Mo Fei, the fans erupted into cheers as loud as a roaring sea and thundering mountains!

However, Mo Fei simply raised her microphone and, without saying a word, sang a cappella: “Write me a letter and tell me, what color is the sea today…”

As expected of Mo Fei, even a single line of a cappella carried the rhythm of a full accompaniment.

The fans were stunned for a moment, then cheered in surprise.

“Listen to the Sea”! Mo Fei started off with a bang!

At this moment, the band’s accompaniment began, and Mo Fei continued singing.

With Mo Fei’s voice in peak condition, her powerful rendition of “Listen to the Sea” had the fans completely captivated.

“Thank you, everyone. Thank you all for coming to my concert this weekend.” Mo Fei wasn’t one for emotional speeches. She could only express her gratitude to her fans with her most sincere words.

But now, after listening to her “Listen to the Sea”, the fans, whose enthusiasm had been ignited, would respond enthusiastically no matter what Mo Fei said. Applause and cheers surged forward like a tide once again.

“Mo Fei, welcome back!” Sitting in the front row VIP seats, there was a loyal fan in his thirties or forties. He waved the sign in his hand as excitedly as a young man and shouted loudly.

Mo Fei vaguely heard him. She felt deeply moved, her eyes welling up with tears. After calming herself down, she said, “Thank you for your support. In fact, when I made my comeback, I encountered great failures. It was only because of all of you who have always supported me that I found the courage to keep pursuing my dream.”

“The Initial Dream!” The fans below wanted to shout out the name of Mo Fei’s next song for her.

“No, the next song I want to sing perfectly represents the hesitation and confusion I felt at that time. Facing overwhelming doubt, I always worried that I would lose you all. Fortunately, someone appeared like a miracle…” Before Mo Fei could finish, the fans eagerly shouted out that person’s name.

“Mu Li’ang, Mu Li’ang!”

“Thank you, Mu Li’ang, for writing so many songs for me. And among them, there’s one I want to sing for all of you…” Mo Fei gratefully looked forward and said slowly, “Love Me, Don’t Go.”

This song still sparked a lot of cheers.

Even though it might not stand out compared to the other songs, the overall quality of the album was so high that even this song had widespread popularity.

As the lazy and romantic sound of the saxophone began, its graceful melody made the fans below sway along.

“Even at this point, I’m still the same. The loneliness of the night easily makes people sad…”

Mo Fei’s pure voice, singing this song, had a unique charm. Listening to her felt like encountering an innocent girl in a bar, her sorrowful frown always evoking pity and affection!

“… I haven’t heard from you, because I’ve been thinking of you!” For the final line, Mo Fei held the microphone close, closed her eyes, and spoke the words in a soft, murmuring tone, which unexpectedly gave off a playful feel.

“Love me, don’t go. If you say you don’t love me…” Mo Fei’s vocal prowess made handling this song effortless. With just a single sustained note, she had the fans utterly enchanted.

There was nothing particularly special about this song, but under the context of Mo Fei’s earlier words, the fans finally understood the emotions Mo Fei wanted to express. That feeling of reluctance and sadness seeped into their hearts through the song.

As the song ended, Mo Fei remained standing there. Before she could ask, the fans eagerly shouted, “We won’t leave you!”

“Mo Fei, we will always love you!”

“Keep it up, Mo Fei!”

Of course, the melancholy atmosphere quickly passed. Mo Fei then reignited the atmosphere with songs like “The Initial Dream.”

Mo Fei’s concert did not invite any warm-up singers. With her strong foundational skills, she managed to carry the nearly three-hour concert on her own.

Even with only a few minutes of quick outfit change breaks, drinking water on stage, and singing “You Exist in My Song”, “Across the Ocean to See You”, and an encore of “Listen to the Sea” towards the end, Mo Fei still performed perfectly.

Mo Fei’s dedication moved her fans!

After the concert, reporters waiting outside caught a few fans and asked for their thoughts.

“It was absolutely worth it! Mo Fei’s live performance is even better than listening to a CD!”

“Even Eason praised her vocal skills—this whole concert was a feast for the ears!”

“Don’t be fooled by Mo Fei’s beauty; she’s not like those flashy, talentless singers out there. Her singing is top-notch. You’d know if you came to listen!”

The fans gave high praise!

With such high praise, Mo Fei’s future concerts are likely to be sold out as well!

……

Setting Mo Fei’s side aside, the next day, Yang Yi entrusted Xixi to Yang Huan’s care and drove alone to the “usual place,” the remote and dilapidated warehouse, to meet Ju Jie.

Although Ju Jie had shown a submissive attitude, Yang Yi recently discovered that Ju Jie’s phone had changed hands and was now being used by his agent. It was probably because the battery was faulty and causing issues, so he no longer wanted to use it!

After discovering this situation, Yang Yi hesitated for a moment but remained cautious and decided not to turn off the eavesdropping device. Instead, he set it to automatically record, and the computer records would be automatically deleted every few days, keeping a time-limited record. Basically, he wouldn’t listen to it, but he kept it as a precaution in case it might be useful in the future.

Yang Yi had no way of monitoring Ju Jie, which made him a bit worried that this guy might go back to his old ways.

So, before meeting Ju Jie, Yang Yi cautiously parked his car at a distance and sneaked over to check that Ju Jie wasn’t up to anything suspicious before going back to get his car.
