House Dad's Literary Life

Chapter 435: Setting the Record Straight for Great Yang Yi

Because of this incident, Yang Yi’s personal website, which had originally been gradually developing, suddenly saw a surge of tens of thousands, even more than a hundred thousand visitors, and the number was still increasing.

“Let’s set the record straight for Great Yang Yi. I’ll claim a spot and leave my mark here first. Everyone else, follow me!” This post had been up for less than two hours when it had already reached more than 20,000 replies. By evening, it had reached 100,000 replies. Although there were some duplicate IDs, the scale was still astonishing.

Their influence also gradually began to show. By evening, the comment sections of those major portal websites that had reposted the gossip news had basically been taken over by Yang Yi’s fans!

Unlike paid online trolls1, they had all acted on their own initiative. Most of the fans worked hard to introduce Yang Yi’s achievements in the literary field in their own words, and the sincere emotions conveyed in their words were deeply moving.

“Have you read any of Yang Yi’s books? Soldier Assault, Drawing Sword… If you haven’t read enough, then shut up!”

“Damn you, editor! You actually dared to call Great Yang Yi an ordinary person? He makes tens of millions a month. Do you even make ten thousand?”

“Heh, our Great Yang Yi is a low-key person, so you called him an ordinary person. I can’t stand it anymore. Do you dare give us your address? I’ll send you something!”

Of course, most of the fans were fairly civilized and avoided bringing Yang Yi any unnecessary bad publicity. They patiently analyzed the circumstances surrounding the two protagonists of the gossip story.

“Mo Fei is a big star, that’s true, but Yang Yi isn’t bad either. How many best-selling books has he published? Soldier Assault and Drawing Sword had both been authorized to the great director Chen Fengchen, and it is said that we’ll be able to see the Soldier Assault TV series released in the second half of the year. No matter how you look at it, he’s still half a person in the entertainment industry, right?”

“Yang Yi isn’t an ordinary person. The person who wrote this article should at least have searched his name first, right? The Qiyue website showed that Yang Yi had tens of millions of fans. With that kind of popularity, isn’t he just as popular as Mo Fei?”

Not only that, at around 7 o’clock in the evening, someone shouted out on Yang Yi’s personal website, and the army of people fighting to set the record straight for Yang Yi marched toward Mo Fei’s Weibo in full force.

Fortunately… those who read novels were all cultured people, ahem, and they still remembered that Yang Yi and Mo Fei were a couple. Before the army set out, they first made an appeal: “Mo Fei is Great Yang Yi’s wife. We’re on the same side, so we can’t act as recklessly as before. Try to persuade and educate them as much as possible!”

At first, everyone was still quite friendly, politely introducing Great Yang Yi’s identity to Mo Fei’s fans.

However, Mo Fei’s fans weren’t very convinced. Although some of them remained rational, others felt unhappy when they saw outsiders taking over their territory, so they started hurling insults.

“Who cares who your Great Yang Yi is? Is this a place for you to run wild?”

“I’m laughing. Some little author actually dares to call himself a star. Isn’t this just a toad wanting to eat swan meat?”

“The literary world and the entertainment industry are two different things, right? Don’t overstep your bounds. That’s my advice to you!”

“Damn, who are you trying to scare with so few people? And you claim to have tens of millions of fans, so why do I only see a total of more than 300,000 comments? Most of them were still the ones we posted during the day!”

Many of these people were dissatisfied with the news of Mo Fei’s marriage and had gotten a little hot-headed, which made them so ill-mannered. They succeeded as well, angering some of Yang Yi’s fans, and gradually, the comment section descended into a chaotic battle.

It even escalated into a war of words, with the literary world and the entertainment industry taking turns dissing each other.

Although some people still remained rational, some of Mo Fei’s fans had calmed down and felt that if Yang Yi really was as good as these people claimed, then Mo Fei marrying him was not something they could not accept. However, most of the fans were still irrational. They had originally supported the pairing of Mo Fei and Mu Li’ang, but now they simply couldn’t accept Mo Fei’s marriage to Yang Yi.

Therefore, this situation, where communication was simply impossible, led to a heated argument.

Yang Yi had originally only asked the people at Sahara Publishing House to secretly reveal his identity, to see how much of the situation could still be salvaged by comparing the real account with the small account. However, what happened afterward had already gone beyond Yang Yi’s control and was something he could not have imagined.

When Yang Yi returned that evening, he saw his fans enthusiastically speaking up for him in the comment sections of those gossip news articles, and he was very gratified. But when he saw the farce in the comments on Mo Fei’s Weibo, he was somewhat speechless.

Had these people been kicked in the head by a donkey? Did it really have to be someone like Mu Li’ang to meet their standards?

Of course, Yang Yi didn’t keep stubbornly pursuing the matter. Stirring up a little trouble was enough. If he insisted on making things difficult for himself, that would simply be foolish! Besides, Yang Yi didn’t have time today. He was busy rehearsing with Mo Fei at the concert venue. In order to avoid embarrassing himself during tomorrow’s performance, he had really given it his all and rehearsed the duet with Mo Fei several times.

The good news was that Yang Yi and Mo Fei had an incredibly high level of understanding. The two of them only needed to exchange a glance to understand each other’s meaning, so there was basically no problem with their duet. Mo Fei’s only concern was whether Yang Yi would get nervous when he faced tens of thousands of fans tomorrow.

Mo Fei was in a very good state of mind. She no longer paid any attention to all the commotion outside and focused wholeheartedly on preparing for tomorrow’s concert.

“What I gain is my fortune; what I lose is my fate.” That evening, Mo Fei smiled and spoke to Mo Xiaojuan, who was telling her about the new revelation from the entertainment tabloid that afternoon. “The fans who truly love my music will still stay. Some unreliable fake fans will leave even if we try to keep them. We might as well take this opportunity to let them know that I’m just a singer, not an idol who needs to sacrifice my happiness for them!”

……

The next day, with no more convincing evidence to support the reports about Mo Fei, that entertainment tabloid was no longer the only one making headlines, and other media outlets finally responded as well.

For example, those media outlets watching the hotel gave an important revelation.

Yang Yi’s car had been parked in the parking lot of the hotel where Mo Fei was staying!

This Tyrant Wolf and its license plate number had been the key to the entertainment tabloid figuring out Yang Yi’s name! It had taken up a considerable amount of space in the tabloid’s first report.

So, after finding the car at this hotel, the media outlet that uncovered this revelation boldly guessed: Yang Yi was staying at this hotel!

Tsk, tsk. Mo Fei had come to hold a concert, yet she had also been secretly meeting her husband at the hotel. This piece of gossip had certainly given the onlookers plenty to enjoy.

Yesterday, Yang Yi’s fans made a big fuss, which naturally attracted a lot of attention. Some media outlets actively sought confirmation, while others didn’t even bother to verify it and directly reported the identity of Mo Fei’s marriage partner the next day.

However, at this moment, they did show a little restraint, and some media outlets even changed their tone and began to acknowledge Yang Yi and Mo Fei’s relationship.

“Although Yang Yi is a rising star in the literary world, the copyrights to both of his works have already been sold, and they are being prepared for television adaptations, which will give him a respectable position in the entertainment industry. Looking at it this way, Yang Yi and Mo Fei are actually a pretty good match.”

“As for the comparison between Yang Yi and Mu Li’ang, it’s difficult to say who is better. After all, they work in different fields. The only thing they have in common is that they are both creators. But love has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority, nor with wealth or poverty. As long as Mo Fei and Yang Yi truly love each other, I think we should still offer them our sincere blessings.”

However, no matter how much the media reporters persisted or how much of a commotion was made outside, Tianmei and Mo Fei never gave any response. Even the staff at Tianmei’s headquarters remained tight-lipped, revealing nothing when reporters blocked the entrance and repeatedly pressed them for answers.

Time passed quickly. Night fell, Shanghai Stadium was brightly lit, and the true fans who had bought tickets to attend the concert had already lined up early to have their tickets checked and enter. Mo Fei’s second concert was about to begin!
