Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 946: Nathanʼs Revenge

Under the stare of all family members, including the elders, Count Ashton simply took out ten vials.

”What the Ashton family needs right now is a reform. The reason I personally execute that traitor is simply because I wish to proceed with the engagement of my daughter, Selena Ashton, to Nathan.

”These are his gifts. If any elders are willing to summon your familiars to inspect the blood, please come up. The reason for everything Iʼve done until now lies in these vials. If, after inspecting these vials, you are still not convinced, Iʼm willing to take my punishment.”

”!!!” This was a bold statement from Count Ashton. The elders couldnʼt help but look at each other. If they didnʼt give the Count the chance to explain himself, they would look petty.

So, two elders moved forth. ”Iʼm willing to inspect the vials.”

Count Ashton nodded calmly, allowing them to approach the vials.

Once they were close enough, they summoned their familiars and asked them to inspect the vials.

To everyoneʼs surprise, the two royal vampires were exclaiming out loud, ”What are they?”

”Where do you get such a thing?”

”Whatʼs wrong?” The two elders were confused while the others squinted their eyes.

Count Ashton, on the other hand, asked the same question that Nathan asked previously. ”Vampire King, Vampire Queen. I only wish to inquire about one thing. If you, a vampire king… or if you, a vampire queen, find a summoner who uses this blood as a sacrificial item, will you be willing to come even if it means being summoned by an opposite gender?”

The last part was what shocked everyone. All of them knew that sucking an opposite genderʼs blood would make refining them more tedious, so vampires usually had the same gender as their summoners.

But both the vampire king and queen replied without hesitation, ”Iʼm willing!”

That answer completely sealed the course of this conversation. What kind of blood Count Ashton had prepared this time for the two royal vampires willing to endure hardship for this?

”Count… What…” One elder wanted another explanation since he didnʼt understand anything.

Count Ashton explained, ”The two esteemed vampire progenitors have the same answer.

”My son-in-law willingly gives us this precious blood to ensure the prosperity of the Ashton family.

”He wishes to marry my daughter. However, this also means there will be a lack of successors for this family, and I have no wish to get another wife. If Elder Salfan were still with us, he would be the first one to reject this idea.

”However, I mentioned earlier that what this family required was a reform. Hence, Iʼm proposing a path for the Ashton family.

”To prove my merit, Iʼm willing to contribute all ten vials to the family and store them properly inside our treasury.

”And to make everyone feel assured that these vials are the real deal, I will use one in this generation. I will personally hold an event where all summoners, whether you are male or female, compete for this position.

”I will personally teach the winner and raise them as a successor. I know what youʼre thinking at this point, but thatʼs where the vial comes from.

”Whether you are a male or female, by utilizing this blood as the sacrifice, you will be able to summon a vampire progenitor. If that person has a progenitor, I believe thereʼs no need to question their qualification anymore.

”The rest of the 9 vials will be stored in the treasury. People can compete for such a resort but still be encouraged to summon a progenitor without them, but these 9 vials, if we can use them sparsely, we can ensure that for every three generations, there will be a progenitor protecting this family.”

In other words, this prosperity would last for 27 generations. That was close to 1,000 years. This was a more effective way to utilize Nathanʼs blood and the only family who could do it was the Ashton family.

They only needed one thing. Simply sacrificed Selena to Nathan, but Selena loved him, so it was more like a reward. If they agreed and turned a blind eye to Count Ashtonʼs murder, the prosperity of the family would be assured for a long time.

They understood how disastrous it was to lose Count Ashton. That condition elevated the vialsʼ values in everyoneʼs eyes.

Count Ashton killing one elder? If he killed one more, they would nod their head. If they didnʼt agree with him, the vials would be gone. If Nathan and Count Ashton joined hands to leave the Ashton family, it would be over for them.

So, there was only one most rational choice.

The two elders exchanged nods before falling to one knee. ”We thank the patriarch for getting rid of the traitor! Weʼll be working hard for the prosperity of the family!”

Other family members were also overjoyed. The event Count Ashton mentioned could be attended by them, so they had the chance to overturn their fate.

Meanwhile, the two elders who had been eyeing his seat panicked because no one could shake Count Ashton and Selenaʼs position. If they wanted to kill them because of the grudge, people would most likely turn a blind eye again.

These two elders would definitely not have a good nightʼs sleep for a very long time, thinking that Count Ashton could kill them at any moment under the pretense of reform. They could only do one thing to save their lives, which was to submit to Count Ashton.

When Selena saw their expressions, she understood that this was Nathanʼs plan.

Nathan did this for Selena. If she questioned him after this, Nathan could simply say, ”What revenge? I merely gave your father the bride price according to the custom. Everything else was your father.”

In the end, Nathan was just too overprotective.

ʼI canʼt really win against him…ʼ Selena could only admit defeat against Nathan. But at the same time, it truly brought her joy knowing that Nathan would always have her back.

If Nathan were here, he would simply say, ”Life can be bought by money. Doctors, medicine, and other sorts of things are the proof. If people say life canʼt be bought with money, they simply donʼt have enough money. Just create a time machine or cloning or resurrection machine or something if you want someone to come back to life… if you have enough money, of course.”
