Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 943: Ashton Family

A group of people was gathering inside a huge hall. While they looked pretty different, they had one distinguishing feature that looked similar to each other. They had black hair and red eyes.

They were the members of the Ashton family. Both the main and branch families had gathered here.

Not far from them were seven elderly people, each of whom had been the backbone of the family, who had done a lot of things for the family.

Normally, it would just be a gathering for the male heirs, but this time, the announcement actually wanted them, whether they were male or female, to gather in the familyʼs hall.

”Whatʼs going on?”

”I donʼt know.”

”However, itʼs already rare for it to be announced like this.”

”Thatʼs right. Is it because of the seven elders? Only the seven elders have that power after the acting count disappears.”

The people were confused because the return of their patriarch hadnʼt been announced.

In fact, the seven elders were also confused. They suspected one of them was the one arranging this meeting.

However, their answer soon came.

”Whatʼs going on? Are you the one inviting us?” One elder asked.

”No. I didnʼt even do anything. You are probably the ones trying to do something in this scenario, scheming old fox.”

”The royal family has been restraining our power because we donʼt have any patriarch.”

”We need a patriarch soon.”

The elders were busy discussing with themselves. They wanted to put their heir on that throne. Unlike any other families, the Ashton family was built on a different foundation.

Because of their vampire familiar, they needed blood, so that meant they needed to acquire a lot of blood. After all, the vampires didnʼt just suck their summonerʼs blood but also other peopleʼs blood, whether it was because of their desire or evolution.

Hence, this city was different. The city was built so that both the main family and the branch families could live together.

Meanwhile, the people living in this land would offer their blood to them in exchange for protection or help.

That was how the Ashton family established their foundation.

The one who could control the Ashton family would gain access to an unlimited amount of blood. They could even change the rule to a certain extent.

That was why they wanted to put their heir into that single seat to govern the family however they wanted.

However, this time, the situation was different. The person who first entered the room was a middle-aged man with white hair. He had a stern expression, but his strength was much weaker than the eldersʼ.

He was the figurehead the royal family put in place in order to control the Ashton family from messing with Selena or Nathan.

”Jacob. Is this your doing?” The elders seemed to have realized they were wrong. No elder was plotting against each other this time. Instead, it was Jacob who brought them together.

”Jacob. Youʼre misusing your authority! Youʼre just a figurehead that will soon be replaced.”

The elders showed their dissatisfaction, trying to diminish Jacobʼs influence in this family. Normally, Jacob would prepare a political maneuver to handle this problem, but for this occasion, Jacob was already prepared to step down.

Jacob politely bowed to them and announced out loud, ”I indeed was the one who called all of you here, but before you complain to me…”

Jacob had positioned himself in the patriarchʼs seat. He turned around to face the patriarchʼs seat before bowing his head.

”!!!” The elders were confused. Even other people knew Jacob was trying to respect the patriarch, but this wasnʼt really the time.

”Jacob. What are you doing?!”

”Do you think you can gather us here without any reason? If you donʼt have any explanation that will satisfy us, you will suffer from this!”

Instead of Jacob, there was another voice replying to their remark. This voice was nostalgic, making them think about one person.

Four people suddenly entered the room, led by a man in his late twenties. Following behind him was his beloved daughter.

However, what shocked them were the two people behind them. They could recognize one familiar. Meanwhile, there was one they couldnʼt recognize.

Still, there was one thing they could feel from this familiar. It was giving them a direct suppression, similar to the familiar they recognized.

More importantly, this familiar was actually a female.

There were a lot of questions in their mind, but they were concerned about one thing.

This kind of suppression came from a female vampire. There was no way a female vampire could do such a thing. Each elder had a royal vampire, so they had no problem in somehow stopping the suppression.

But the fact they could still feel it meant one thing. The vampire before them was actually one rank higher than them.

In that instant, they realized the identity of the familiar before them. This female vampire was a vampire progenitor.

This time, the patriarch of the Ashton family had returned with his daughter. In addition, they also brought another vampire progenitor.

Luke Ashton stood in front of them with the same face as he had 12 years ago before taking his seat in front of everyone. In that instant, they felt chills down their spine.

They still couldnʼt believe it, but the patriarch they thought had gone… had returned.

Jacob opened his mouth as if he wanted to make them snap from their shock, but four elders regained their composure before he could even do it.

All four of them immediately fell to one knee and shouted in unison.

”We greet the patriarch.”

”!!!” The people were startled. The three elders who had been eyeing that seat reacted a bit too late. As a result, they did the same, but instead of at the same time as other elders, they did it together with the rest of the family members. ”We greet the patriarch.”

Count Ashton squinted his eyes, his cold gaze piercing through those three elders. They instinctively knew what Count Ashton was planning to do. His fury made the room completely silent, making them feel colder.
